While looking for something GOOD to read about, I came across this extraordinary post over on Rumor Mill News.....
A dolphin tangled in fishing line sought help from a diver in the waters of Hawaii.
The amazing encounter on January 11 was captured on video and the diver, Keller Laros, spent the better part of eight minutes tending to the needy mammal who readily accepted the help.
Mr Laros was leading a group of snorkelers for a manta ray dive experience off the Big Island's Kona International Airport when the dolphin squealed out.
The diver explained, 'The way he came right up and pushed himself into me there was no question this dolphin was there for help.'
The group were enjoying the aquatic sights when suddenly they heard a dolphin cry and the bottlenose dolphin swam in their direction.

Oh my God, how sad!
I knew they were smart... look how smart that one was!
Look at what nature intended!!!!
Intelligent species should positively interact;
cruelty is the dissolution of the mind!
think it was a psychic dolphin! dun dun dun @,@
p.s. I saw a pigeon this week that had lost a toe to fishing line.
My father taught me never to leave it behind unless I couldn't help it.
some fools will replace their reels and leave the spent line on the shore.
eventually even snagged lines will cause trouble for birds because the hooks and sinkers rust and fall off, freeing the line!
it's really irresponsible ever to leave line, plastic ties, or anything else like that, even hair, etc.
a hair in a diaper can make a kid lose a wee wee, no kidding,
freaking bad luck...

i started crying as i was watching this.
then i got really angry.
the so called leaders of this world couldnt care less if nature is entirely destroyed.
in fact, they are actively setting about destroying it.
ive had enough of them.
its one thing that they want to cull humans...
but animals are just like us in many respects.
all that life being destroyed by a bunch of power hungry psychopaths,
who will stand up in front of us and say that they care about the planet.
bastards

this video proves that the creatures we call "animals" have the power of ideation... this animal had a fantasy or a plan, that humans could rescue it,
it KNEW about the dive site somehow, and that the people could help...
what do you think about all that?

'Cruelty is the dissolution of the mind'...
....wow. that's so very true, Tesla. Thanks for that one.
May I also add....Cruelty is the corruptor of intelligence?
Thanks Song, for sharing the story...We've got so much to learn...

I have long believed that as divers, we gain an empathy for the Earth and her Ocean that those who only spend their time above water cannot fully comprehend. We see the waste and stupidity of man, ravages that are hidden from above water eyes. What is thrown into the waters and out of sight is for us to encounter and to lament over. We see the fishing lines, the rusty sinkers and hooks, the fishing nets. We see the old tyres, the shopping trolleys, the pipelines, the thoughtless detritus of countless ages of man's incongruence to the wellbeing of the Ocean. The water surrounds us, engulfs us, nurtures our soul's struggle to a higher expression. It gets into our bones and our hearts. I fully believe that prolonged submersion in the ocean changes us on deep and profound levels. I would fully recommend taking up diving as a profound spiritual practice.
There have been many times when I have come across, and attempted to assist aquatic life. Readily coming to mind is when a Port Jackson shark was hooked on an entangled line and would constantly and hopelessly attempt to swim off. It was wasting away, and I don't know how long it had been tethered there. I approached it, and after a little wrangling, finally freed it so that it could swim off.
In many ways and on many fronts divers are at the forefront of environmental awareness.
PS. some of my underwater pics can be found at www.flickr.com/souldiver (Interspersed with those of scantily clad models!). ;)

Do you think maybe dolphins have an oral tradition about Atlantis and lemuria, and we humans could learn to access the language of dolphins and learn about lost civilizations?

well i do believe that as humans become more and more corrupted..
we may have to look towards nature to re-learn what humanity is actually about.
