I'm tired of reading the "intel" blogs. They're just a never never drip of broken promises. But D from Removing The Shackles is an interesting and intelligent commentator.

I just wondered if there are any press clippings or videos that support this statement:

Boehner called a national press conference the other night at 5pm est- he walked up to the podium then walked away for an hour and showed up with a rag tag group of congressmen and women and talked about the budget. Then it was said that he'd be on live TV on CNN at 11pm that same night to make an important announcement..... and never appeared.

If this is true, it might lend some credibility to the rumour that Boehner has been handed more power than is normal for a Speaker of the House.

Any ideas?

I won't be able to check this thread for a few days.

Thanks if you can help.

The trick would be to find out if this sort of thing, ie calling conferences and then not having them happen.... is common or not.

That the data's supposed and assumed 'weighting'... has meaning, or not. Critical.

And then, if the specifics of the attempted conference have any back-story or story/meaning of any kind.

Only then, could any sort of potential context or meaning be ascertained from this situation.

As similar to the US gun issue.

Highest murder rate per capita in the 'civilized world', they scream.

Yes a hair higher than Canada, it is... and higher than a few other countries. And the approximate 100 countries with higher 'per capita murder by gun rates'...all of them have 100% bans on guns.

The surprising part is that the murder rate is so LOW considering how many guns are in people's possession. Incredibly so. Not one nation on the planet can touch the LOW death rate when crossed by the number of guns per capita, except for maybe Canada and Switzerland.

Yes I agree its a bit of a long shot Carmody, and it may mean nothing. As no one can substantiate anything either way I guess I'll have to let it go...
