If any of you are effected in the Brisbane area, or know someone who has just lost their home and needs a place to stay in an emergency, please let me know.
Ill be glad to vacate my home and live with my parents so someone in need can have a roof over their head and somewhere safe to call home.
Take care everyone and please stay safe.

These floods are really destructive, though not unprecedented, but tornados are very rare indeed in Australia. There were SIX in Bunderburg!
Meanwhile as the storms and floods make their way down the Eastern coast towards Sydney Victoria has huge bushfires and two towns in Central Victoria have been warned of their last chance to evacuate from the path of the flames.
Yesterday in my area- Southern Victoria- we had 2ml of rain. It was our first rain since December! Tomorrow snow is forecast in the mountains.
I know Australia has extremes of weather, but this is extreme extremes. This summer too many records have been broken, and I am so sorry for the thousands of people once again fighting for their lives, as well as their homes, against fire and flood.
********And it's still only January.******* What is in store for February?

Glad to see this post. I wanted to extend my prayers to all our friends there. I just heard NSW was being told to evacuate. Please be safe, all my dear friends. Godspeed.

I heard on the radio that there was a 3 hour downpour of about 750mm (30 inches) up in Queensland (somehwere near Brisbane).
Now that's a bit of rain.
Helicopters evacuating people from their roofs and towns cut off. Now it's gotta work its way down the Murray...
Imagine calling a cyclone Oswald.
Really, come on now...
That's just askin' for trouble!
BTW, that last vid with the car comin' outa da foam. Bewdiful!
Howdya be? I didn't see 'em your honourfulness. The ocean blocked my view?

OVERNIGHT rain and high winds were expected to wreak havoc on the Northern Rivers, as ex-cyclone Oswald continued its remarkable spin down the eastern seaboard.
But SES personnel were last night optimistic that the worst of the weather had been expended on the residents of Queensland, where the powerful rain depression caused record rainfall, flash flooding and destruction from a band of waterspouts.

THOUSANDS face evacuations as torrential rain caused road and air chaos in NSW this afternoon with ex-tropical cyclone Oswald beating a devastating path towards Sydney.
About 2000 people were cut off in the state's drenched north, with about 850 people isolated at Ewingar, west of Lismore, and 400 at Darkwood, on the Bellinger River.
At 4.30pm flood warnings were in place for eight NSW river systems, the Bureau of Meteorology advised on its website.
In Lismore, the NSW State Emergency Service is doorknocking homes and 500 residents are being evacuated, with the Wilsons River at a height of 9.7 metres.
" in the above article we also find that 2 whales had beached themselves, this could be significant so i am adding it"
Many shops remain closed and sandbagged in the centre of town while water is leaking through the roof of the local shopping centre.
The extreme weather may have also been responsible for two whales beaching themselves near Coffs Harbour yesterday.
The mother and calf pygmy sperm whales were found a few hundred metres apart at Gallows Beach.
They were euthanised by National Parks and Wildlife officials last night.
Spokesman Lawrence Orel said a necropsy - similar to an autopsy - would be performed to determine exactly how the whales died.
"We are not exactly sure why they came ashore," he said.
"Whether the weather was a factor is not clear."
