Hi Avalonians,

Zionists and the west aren't very pleased with their terrorists on the ground in Syria and now they have used Israeli jets that bombed a military research center near the capital of Dasmascus, Syria.

This is escalating the mideast conflict to a new level.

Israeli fighter jets targeted a military research center near Damascus early on Wednesday morning, Syrian state news agency SANA said citing army officials.
The Syrian army’s general command has issued a statement, saying an airstrike was launched by the IAF targeting a military research center in Jamraya, rural Damascus.
“Israeli fighter jets violated our air space at dawn today and carried out a direct strike on a scientific research center in charge of raising our level of resistance and self-defense,” the army statement said as cited by SANA.
The strike caused material damage to the center and a nearby building, killing two workers and wounding five others, the statement added.
The Syrian military also rejected reports that the Israeli warplanes targeted a convoy headed from Syria to Lebanon. It called the strike a “blatant act of aggression” against Syria and accused Israel of supporting terrorist activity in the country.

Wonder what research was being done at this military scientific research facility to enable raising Syria's level of resistance and self defense? It sounds pretty secretive. I'm surprised there wasn't anti-aircraft protection surrounding the facility.

Syria 'confirms' Israeli air strike near Lebanon border

The Syrian military has confirmed that Israeli jets have carried out an air strike on its territory, but denied reports that lorries carrying weapons bound for Lebanon were hit.

It said in a statement that the target was a military research centre northwest of the capital Damascus.

Two people were killed and five injured in the attack, it said.

Lebanese security sources, Western diplomats and Syrian rebels say an arms convoy was hit near Lebanon's border.

The attack came as Israel voiced fears that Syrian missiles and chemical weapons could fall into the hands of militants such as Lebanon's Hezbollah. (???)

That's what I suspected, that it was some kind of bio or chemical weapons lab. I'm sure Israel has these facilities/labs as well, so where do they get off doing this to another country?

...I didn't see anything in the article about the target being a bio/chem weapons lab, may have missed something though... I read on another web page that it may have been a surface to surface missile development facility, we may well never know.

As for accountability - whose job is that? Apartheid Israel has violated so many UN resolutions it doesn't matter anymore. In fact, the more apartheid Israel violates them, the more support apartheid Israel seems to get.

Sorry, I made the assumption because the article mentioned Israel's concerns regarding missile or chemical weapons gettng in the wrong hands.

I agree that the UN as well as most western countries are hypocrites when it comes to what they allow Israel to get away with.

and you were right from RT...

Israel had reportedly been planning for several days the airstrike to hit a shipment of sophisticated weaponry – allegedly including chemical weapons and Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles – bound for Hezbollah in Lebanon.

“This episode boils down to a warning by Israel to Syria and Hezbollah not to engage in the transfer of sensitive weapons,” a regional security source told Reuters... link (http://rt.com/news/israeli-warplanes-bomb-damascus-114/)

the shipment was hit right in front of the research center when it was hit, most likely a coincidence... ;)

One of Syria's chemical weapons bases can be spotted in commercial satellite photos. U.S. monitoring of roughly two dozen such bases indicates the Assad regime has begun preparing its chemical weapons for use. Orders have been issued to bring together chemical ingredients which are normally stored separately for safety, but when combined, form the deadly nerve agent sarin... link (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-57556906/u.s-intel-indicates-syria-ramping-up-chemical-weapons-bases/)

Local residents and experts claim the target was a chemical weapons production center.

Two people were killed and five wounded in the attack on the site in Jamraya, which Syria described as one of a number of "scientific research centers aimed at raising the level of resistance and self-defense"... link (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4339243,00.html)

Syria seems to be the center of the world this week, doesn't it?

This is from Press tv today:

A high-ranking Iranian official has condemned Israel’s airstrike on a military research center near the Syrian capital city of Damascus, noting that the assault will have serious consequences for the Tel Aviv regime.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that the attack clearly demonstrated that foreign-sponsored militants and Israel pursue the same goals with regard to Syria.

He called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to adopt an effective and practical measure against the attack.

I'm sure nothing will be done by the U.N. regarding the attack by Israeli jets... probably just a slap on the wrist.

Syria is the current target of tptb, trying to get control over the middle east. But is not as east as they wanted it to be.
