View Full Version : Solar Sintering Sand to Glass, Using 3D Printer Concept

This is absolutely brilliant. Combining the technologies of "3D printing" with "sintering" (melting sand into glass), and powering the entire process with sunlight.

When I have tried to visualize some of the technology that will be available when Zero Point/Free Energy is no longer suppressed, one of the things I thought of is creating roads using this process (rather than using crude oil mixed with stone - asphalt.) That could at least be an interim solution until anti-grav vehicles were the only vehicles. But, until we have ZP/FE, we can still look at some of what can be done using solar power (both directly focusing light into a cutting or sintering beam as well as photovoltaic electricity for the electrical mechanisms.) Certainly, dwellings could be built using this technology - right now.

This is only a small-scale test, but use your imagination:

So is this stuff strong enough for big trucks to drive on? will it shatter in freezing cold?

I could see something similar to cinder blocks made of it, with air pockets for insulation if its not porus already, painted black on the outside to accumulate solar heat

that is just so awesome....
not sure about melting sand into roads, but you could certainly build houses like this... as a whole or brick by brick..

shame the sun rarely shines hot enugh and long enough here in the UK...
thanks Dennis

I had this concept in my Nuclearnuttery blog that was deleted, turning sand to glass,
and using a LHC to learn how to manufacture Palladium glass then miniaturize the process.

thank you so much for finding that video and helping preserve a very good idea!

it is always nice to know something isn't lost after all

seems logical someone would figure this out though after all the bomb jokes, i.e. turn the desert to a sheet of glass

They are planning some big projects based on this technology.....

oh yeah, and of course there are the glass tubes on mars.... which I suspect are architectural...

I like the idea of a house with the window boxes built into it from the beginning.

Hahaha.

But really, a house made of sand would be a great place for growing plants.
Even porous glass can hold some dirt, moisture, roots?

We can make a real "green house"

A human city could look like a termite mound with gardens all over it.

Weird. some high tech stuff will return us to the natural state, isn't that funny?

I was thinking that to...........I posted a few articles about this last year, I thought I put up
a thread but cannot find it in my archive.Must of been on someone elses..LOL

I posted these two vids on that thread and it shows these concepts are
becoming feasible for the near future.
