Change the world by changing yourself.

We can either spend our precious life in recognising our true nature and
seeing clearly, or continue running around complaining about everything
and everyone, and so creating more havoc. The very reason to recognise our
true nature is to be aware of the games being played by our consciousness.
Consciousness is the mechanics of the mind.
Until we can recognise this, we will be manipulated.

You Know.

We have always known, we know now, we always will know.
That's what we are - Knowing!
So what's the problem? We think we don't know, and so we complain.

What has happened is that we created a duality - pure knowing and
the knower (a big me). There is a very subtle difference, but this has a
huge effect.

Let's look at this more closely: a red car comes into view.
Knowing silently reflects the appearance of a red car.
Chattering-knower-me says, “Oh, there's a red car!”
Knowing already knows.

Sports people and artists know this silent zone.

“Two birds sat in the same tree: one pecked at all the fruit, while the other
sat and watched.” It's like that.

There is knowing, a knower and the thing known.
The knower and the thing known are conventional truths, and have no inherent existence; they are temporary events.
This is subject and object relationship which keeps running around complaining and reacting.

Knowing is absolute reality. It is just there. It just is – non-duality.
Knowing is pure awareness reflecting what is taking place, without
getting involved or manipulating.
This is silent intelligent space -wisdom!

To take a closer look.
It is like saying, “I know the present moment.”
This sounds right, but a moment can be broken up into a hundred parts,
with an I observing...now. Which one of those parts is now? Now? Now?!
There is no present moment to be found - or a past or a future.
The moment that a moment is recognised, it has gone!

There is only timeless awareness.
This makes a huge difference to our experience of 'being'.
It is very, very subtle, and can only be recognised in silence - merely being - barely being aware.
If one is too aware, it would become too active and conceptual.
It's like that - and it's important to see this balancing act.

Of course we can continue running around, complaining about everyone
and everything.
Or we can exchange our mind-made selves for our true nature.
Then we can exchange self for others.
First we need clarity, and then we can see clearly what do.

Doing is then the expression of wisdom, rather than an emotional reaction.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.Remember knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment.Remeber Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom

I know it sounds trite but...

The first steps to easing the pain of the world,
is to stop adding to it.

I don't find it trite at all.

I think it's very beautiful.

This has me wondering, pie'n'eal.

Recently, I read that we should only concern ourselves with our own realities. But what are the parameters of our own realities anyway? It's definitely not just within our own physicalities. I think that once we become aware of something it becomes part of our reality, right? You can actually expand it by taking in as much knowledge and awareness as possible.

So, I'm thinking that realities overlap each other. And we influence each other in differing degrees whether we realize it or not.
Consequently, it makes sense that if you want" to change the world, then change yourself".

Thank you Tony for another subtle but deep reminder.....a true resonance with the divine balance in life and perhaps an opened spiritual door to higher knowing.

Blessings,
Good to see another of your threads!

Compassion in action.

Compassion is a tricky subject. We start by being kind to ourselves…”There I go again! But at least I learned something.”
We all assume that we are compassionate – until the moment our button gets pressed, and then off we go…
that steaming-snorting-smelly-self-righteous monster appears again! And if we are a ‘spiritual person’ we do this with a ‘loving’ smile!

We have to be honest, but not be too hard on ourselves. If we are spiritual warriors, we can, in fact, be joyous at this test.
That very steaming-snorting-smelly-self-righteous monster is our teacher!

If we have the guts to face our demons, they just disappear.: they are our own likes and dislikes that are always waiting to ambush us.

Compassion is the outcome of recognising our pure, cognisant nature. When this happens,
an unshakeable confidence arises – together with a sense of relief and joy: this is compassion and we can now face anything.

When this three-fold nature of Pure Cognisant Compassion looks out, it recognises sentient beings’ true potential
as having Pure Cognisant Compassion…they simply do not recognise it. Seeing that, loving, spacious compassion naturally arises.

However, an inner conflict can occur when ego-clinging is still present, and Compassion arises at the same time.
Let’s be honest: we’re not enlightened yet! We are pulled in two directions at once. We all know the feeling of the love-hate scenario.

The most important point is that when a situation arises, and one is about to get angry (or any of the other emotions arise),
it is an opportunity to see one’s own state and be honest. In not reacting, space is created and compassion can take place…sometimes, silence is golden!

There are also the enlightened, compassionate activities of pacifying, magnetising, enriching and destroying,
but in these there can be no ego present, otherwise it will backfire.

Compassion in action comes from the fearless dignity of knowing one’s true nature, and that of others.

No outside force can ever disturb this!

Spirituality is tough on ego. Tough? Its job is to destroy ego’s game.
