I am looking for some natural remedies for a friend who works in renovations/constructions....he is only in his early 30's but suffers greatly from leg pains due to the amount of standing and lifting he does......he wants to use things like A5-35 to help with the pain but as these are soaked into the body this is not a healthy way to treat the pain particularly long term.... I have heard that vitamin E is good for leg circulation and shots of Apple Cider Vinegar as well....if anyone has any natural cures for this I would appreciate hearing from you.

With out something more specific its hard to say, but I would recommend Clair Davies "Trigger point therapy workbook" (http://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Point-Therapy-Workbook-Self-Treatment/dp/1572243759/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359925830&sr=8-1&keywords=Trigger+point+therapy+workbook) to anyone with a physical body, my wife cured a frozen shoulder with this & I've sorted all kinds of stuff !

Should consult medical doctor first to rule veinous or arterial problem then go from there. Does he have a good pair of work boots with good support? A lot of leg pain comes from lack of good footware. Good luck!

I will recommend he checks with his doctor, he has had this for at least the 2 years ive known him......I remember when I worked in a bank (sorry) for 10 years, standing on concrete floors in heels, my legs would kill me, charlie horses etc at night.....figured his was something similar......good work boots would be a good suggestion too, that can make a huge difference.

thanks Spiral for the book link, I will pass that along too

Does he have a knee brace? this might be a silly question.
i would invest in a very strong brace and maybe the supportive stockings diabetics wear.

Does he take 'statin drugs' for high cholesterol or any perscription drugs at all. Is it over all pain or in his joints or knees?

I am not a big fan of allopathic medicine but this sure sounds like something that should be looked at by an M.D., chiropractor or podiatrist who can do some x rays and/or an MRI. This could be a structural problem with his back or knees that could plague him all his life. Alternative medicine can be helpful for many things but this sounds like something appropriate for an M.D. Good luck!

...I recommend those socks that keep the circulation going on long haul flights..good for achy legs!

but do rule out more serious stuff first.

Fresh grated ginger, on a dressing , left on the point of pain.

But as others have rightly said, gain medical advice too.

Its really impossible to make effective recommendations without knowing what the problem is. It could be vascular, it could be structural, it could be nutritonal deficiency, perhaps arthritic.

You need to get specific.

Get a medical diagnosis but stay away from their drugs.

thanks everyone......I am sure as a 31 year old he has just put up with this as 'part of the job' but I will recommend he gets it checked to rule out anything serious.

Wade Frasiers recommendation of a live food diet (this forum), stop smoking and drinking alcohol, and take a rutin supplement. With love to us all.

Sometimes leg pains are connected with strains along the spine, or a disc out of place, rolling on the spine backwards and forwards every morning and evening helps me when I have lifted heavy stuff or have been digging in the garden!

Your friend needs a proper diagnosis as many have already suggested because there could be a number of underlying causes.

Provided that the acheyness is not caused by anything serious and the only reason is muscle strains then i would recommend arnica, both in homeopathic pellets or drops taken orally and cream applied directly to the painful areas. The homeopathic dose to start with should be 6c. If the condition improves, it can be increased.

Another very effective cream for muscle strains and injuries is Traumeel. Both arnica and traumeel are available in most health food stores.

Just read how helpful Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar is for various arthritis pains, etc. Needs to be raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized "with the mother" - only by Bragg.

Lots of great suggestions here.

To add one to the bunch... Maybe check out Feldenkrais. Can correct structural issues with very simple small movements and being aware of your movements in general.

Here is a free webpage with lots of great info:

The goal of the OpenATM Project at openATM.org (http://openatm.org/)is to make Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM) Lessons available to everyone around the world.

It may really help for him to see a good chiropractor. The problem may be rooted in the spine or pelvis.

It's a little hard to see how heavy manual work could create pain in the legs in someone who is young and (presumably) strong -- unless it's joint pain, e.g. in the knees. But lifting and twisting does often cause problems in the spine and pelvis... and then symptoms can appear elsewhere.

Most experienced chiropractors will tell you how they've cured a patient's (e.g. knee) problem by working on something like their opposite shoulder. The body is an energetic, connected whole... when a problem appears, that same location is not always where the deep cause is.

Simply yoga. The benefits of yoga are not understood by most, those who practice can simply say yoga will help significantly and posssibly cure the ailment 100 percent. No need for fancy expensive yoga classes, any beggining yoga video found online will be a tremedous help to those who suffer from the body hurt machine we all wake up in every morning,,, funny how children dont feel the pain in our bodies the same way we olders folks do?? When does it hurt to be in our bodies?? What age does the computer body let the spirit feel the pain? and of course why?? I dunno.

Hey mate,

Does he eat bananas?

Seriously, bananas are great for curing this kind of pain. Eating a couple of bananas everyday is great for muscle and veins health, besides, they also have strong anti-carcinogenic properties.

It depends on the kind of pains in his legs but if the pains are cramping he needs magnesium. In any form will do but I would recommend Magnesium 30K homeopathic and the magnesium tablets.

get a bed that tilts way back, to uncompress the spine, way back - half way to upside down. drink water with a ph greater than 9. when i get the money that's what i'm going to do. theory is, water can then go into the disk. just a guess, haven't tried it. water with a ph greater than 9 is water in single molecules, smaller than clumped clusters of water, fits in a cell better because it's smaller. water just goes round and round on the planet, been doing it for thousands of years, is very hard.

If it is a nutritional issue I would do the following....

I'd try Dimagenisum Malate (http://www.jigsawhealth.com/supplements/magnesium) and Goji Gold Juice 2oz (http://www.vitacost.com/dynamic-health-organic-certified-goji-berry-gold-juice-32-fl-oz) per day, and 3000mg of vitamin C (http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-premium-vitamin-c-rose-hips-1000-mg-250-caps) per day. The proper amount of magnesium in the muscles causes them to relax in the evening and get the required rest. The Goji is the #1 super-food in the world and will cause his blood to unstick and flow properly. I know this sounds crazy but it worked for me. I had a tight neck muscle for 15 years and no medications cause it to loosen up without drastic side effects. If I got off the meds, it would tighten right back up again due to bone rubbing on a nerve. The dimagensium malate worked wonders and after a week or two, I've never had any more neck pain because magnesium causes the muscles to relax. For me it was a miracle. Most people are deficient. The first place it shows up is in muscles not getting the proper rest and relaxation. It works great for a lot of things.

The Goji Gold Juice helps stop every bit of angina for my heart and since I've been taking that I have not need 1/2 my meds. It stopped every bit of angina. I mean EVERY BIT for over a year... and even reversed my heart disease. It really can work wonders with circulation issues.

If he takes statin drugs for cholesterol, you may have the problem there. Supplement 200mg of CQ10 (http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-ultra-coq10-200-200-mg-90-caps) when ever you take a statin drug. Many doctors won't tell you this. Look it up.

In fact, I'd recommend these supplements to just about everyone.

thank you foreverfan........he is young and not on any medication as far as I know, I am not sure his diet is the best so perhaps magnesium is an issue for him. How much per day did you take? I know the bottles usually have very low recommended dosage for things like D3 etc.
I will pass along your info , many thanks for taking the time

Please check the first video from Jigsaw Health. After a hard month of supplementation, I've cut it back. Magnesium can be tricky since the wrong kind can give you diarrhea. That's way the pill from Jigsaw work. They allow you to absorb the maximum dosage without giving you diarrhea. I only take one pill a day of their Magnesium STR formula. When you start you need to take 4 tablets daily... 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Don't underestimate the Goji.

Good Luck.

I was having leg cramps...try getting support socks. You can get heavy ones made from the material they use for knee support that have no heel and toe and wear regular socks over them or you can find support socks on the internet by using "buy support socks". They really help. Also, a remedy made by the Amish (name of company Caleb Tree Organic). It is made from organic cider vinegar and all natural ginger and garlic juice. If your legs cramp in the night take it before bed or keep it beside the bed for instant relief. The support socks are really wonderful and promote good circulation. I got the heavier socks (they come up to your knee) at a CVS store. Also using Nature's Plus Calcium/Magnesium and Vitamin D3 supplement. It is interesting we are having these problems right now. Good luck.

Glucosamine is used to treat osteoarthritis of peripheral joints and spinal cord. Works very well if this is the kind of pain you have.

After reading the previous suggestions i'd like to add mineral salt -untreated seasalt- it contains over 80 minerals and costs close to nothing. Ive seen many 'miracles' happen performed by a teaspoon of seasalt. The reasoning behind it that no matter what mineral your lacking the salt contains them all and your body takes what it needs.

i kept bees for years and suffered from severe hand joint pain until i was stung not only did it work fairly quickly but lasted for about 4 months or longer. this doesnt work for everyone and dont attempt this method if you are intolerant to bee venom. i also sufferd less with with a bulging disc and other back issues that seemed to become more tolerable.wasnt cure for the back but did help with mobility.all natural honey and bee venom are ancient remedies that are currently being researched and used today.dont get me started on the anti bacterial aspects of un heated honey....and how cancer cells have been shown to react around honey.do your own reading on the healing aspects of the honey bee and health.there is a wealth of credible science to back loads of beneficial info.good luck.
