Unbeliveable story
WeAreChange recently got the opportunity to meet and Interview Joe Lozito, the selfless hero who put his life on the line to stop a serial killer. The story is only magnified when Joe finds out, that while being stabbed by the serial killer, the NYPD was standing by watching everything unfold from the safety of the conductors door. Currently in a legal suit, the NYPD and City of NY is arguing that the NYPD has NO duty to protect its own citizens.
If you want to learn more about Joe and be updated about his court case follow him on https://twitter.com/joe_lozito

That is so sad it really is unbelievable I like in the UK and the police don't have guns but I do believe the police in the UK would have intervened to try and assist, I was in new York in July and to be honest with you I felt very safe by the level of police officers I observed at the time but there can be and will be one nut case out there wanting to kill everyone in site for no reason at all.
my heart goes out to Joe and his family, I wish him a full recovery and a successful outcome to his court case, thanks for posting baddbob ,
thanks
Joe

I really feel for Joe Lozito, I hope he can heal from the physical injuries as well as the psychological ones. For me the take-home message is: you have to protect yourself, all the Police usually do is "pick-up the pieces" afterwards (although there are exceptions to this).
I was concerned the Police made Joe wait in the train for 25 minutes after the attack - were they waiting for him to die? Also,I found out myself the Police AREN'T there to protect anyone - they don't have to help anyone & there's nothing we can do about it.

JoeI don't believe they could help. 'Elf and Safety would determine that it was too dangerous. ;)
