Police alert: 6 adults, 8 children plan mass suicide

PALMDALE, Calif. — Officials in Southern California issued an emergency alert late Saturday for six adults and eight children who are members of a "cult-like" group believed to be planning a mass suicide.

"They were awaiting the rapture or some other catastrophic event," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Captain Mike Parker said.

Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the sheriff's department, told a hastily called news conference covered by KNBC that the group believed "they were going to meet Jesus or deceased relatives."


He said deputies were searching the desert for the group, believed to be six adults and six boys and two girls. The children range in age from 3 to 17, Whitmore said

This is so scary. The fact that these Adults have included children within this is just sick!

I really hope that this is not hint at that which is to come.

Now this illustrates the power of the belief system...which illustrates the power used over others...innocent minds in the children/young adults, easily manipulated by another...and you can bet there is one 'leader'.

This is an extremely disturbing example of the way the world operates...

I just hope the programmed/niave minds of the 'flock' get a fair break on the other side....if it goes that far, lets hope not!

I couldn't agree more.

Ross, it shows the power that one strong mind can have over others. Childrens minds are empty and waiting to soak things into it. Hence, the reason people like this can easily control children.

I truely hope that this is a one off, and not the start of something that will happen on an ongoing bases.

I don't know about the validity of this... it just feels fishy to me...

later in the article it says something about BRAINWASHING, but is vague whether they were brainwashed BY the previous mainstream Christian Church they attended (no names), or by the current cult church (again not named)...

and then it states that the person that tattled on the suicide plans was kicked out of which group??? the sucide group??? or the cult-church?? the mainstream church???

then another church member had possession of the purse that held the WILL and Property documents (what- they ACCIDENTLY left this behind??)

This is more fake news. Just when things get a tad - shall I dare say it - BORING on the fake news, suddenly a spicy, salacious, and often titillating story surfaces to suck up the oxygen, usually including (GASP) children who may possibly be molested, abducted or worse...........how is it exactly that these local news stories get fast-tracked up to national news media attention? Someone is constantly vacuuming all the buzz and extracing spicy bits to keep the 24/7 panopticon spinning. Someone like - Dan Abrams at MSNBC maybe? Turns out this was an overaction by trigger-happy local cops and media...........and guess what? The "ring-leader" is now, I presume forcibly. being evaluated at a hospital for "mental stability," which gives one pause. Because one stumbles into the national panopticon, one's reputation can be instantly destroyed, one can be locked up in a mental ward in their own "best interests" - what does that tell you about the crazy voracious news machine..........once the salacious, even unproven and unsubstantiated damaging allegations are made the story board has served its purpose - shoveling more distracting disinformation into the public maw...............it doesn't matter if lives are destroyed, charges are never brought, or even if the whole story is a lie. The fake news has merged seamlessly with Bollywood...................it is scripted and serves the purpose of distracting the people AND CONSTANTLY INFORMING THE PEOPLE OF HOW DEGRADED AND INFERIOR THEY ARE, softening them up for their superiors who are more than happy to take over the job of running all our lives for us.

Yes Lost Soul, exactly my point. The media not only "gives this nonsense attention" it actually CREATES fake news............the more salacious the better. It is called Yellow Journalism and is used to distract people and shift public opinion in certain directions. Ever notice how the themes of child abuse, murders, sordid affairs, and kinky tales occupy a disproportionate amount of media attention. How is it that Joran Van Der Sloot and his apparently distorted psyche is continually woven into our minds, not to mention the continual resuscitation of Jon Benet Ramsey and other stories ........... what is the purpose behind this fake news programming? It isn't just filling blank air time..........it is to pound in and reinforce the message that humans are degraded beings and that we should be so fortunate, blessed even when our betters step in to take charge of our hopelessly muddled affairs for us!
