Wildlife rangers in Zimbabwe put the resort town Kariba on full alert Wednesday
after rogue lions killed 2 people. One person escaped on tuesday but the woman
with him was killed by the lions but her body was not eaten. The rangers found
an arm and other pieces of another person who the lions ate.
Here is a pic of the two most infamous Man-Eaters to ever roam the wild.
They are called the Ghost and the Darkness. It is said that these two were
responsible for killing 135 people. They are currently on display at the field
Museum of Natural History in Chicago Ill.

Lions don't usually regard human beings as prey, but once the realize what slow and easy targets humans are, they will go after them, and so once a lion has attacked a human, rangers are forced to shoot them.

It's one of the scariest (and best!) films I've ever seen, for sure.
They say those lions are still pretty scary to look at.

Apparently they are on the loose in California as well. Well maybe not on the loose.
A lion has killed a worker at a private big cat park near Fresno, California, officials say.

Yes -- I believe there were two -- an old one and one somewhat more recently -- time considerations are not my strong point. I only saw the more recent one -- I recall it being quite good as well.
EDIT: the old one was called "Bwana Devil" - 1952 -- the first American colour 3-D movie ;)

The ghost and the darkness were extrodinary large lions. They are strange looking without the mane.

A lion without his mane is as strange, and scary, looking as a woman without her mane of beautiful hair. :p

I noticed that too -- they were males ... they were young but still should have had some mane. It appears there is lots of flesh "missing" from the reconstruction -- my guess is that the taxidermist had crap to work with and couldn't recreate rotted muscle tissue, but did the best he could .. in fact from looking harder -- it may be that hadn't much more than a bit of skin and skeleton to work with. Mind you I don't know a whole lot about taxidermy.

It is sad to hear that people are being killed by lions, but we (humans) are encroaching on their territories. Since they did not eat the woman, they probably killed her and attacked her partner over territory. Humans can be viewed as a food source but more likely we are viewed as competition or invaders.
It's also a shame that the lions will probably be hunted down and killed as opposed to captured and relocated.

Cognitive dissonance
If it is ok for humans to eat animals then I guess it should be ok for animals to eat humans?
