Hello my new friends,

This is my first thread that I am posting. As new, provisional member, with Project Avalon, I would like to share with the community a poem that touches my soul; invokes passion, and well adjusted intent within my being. This is a poem by Bob Marley. The title of this song is, Get Up Stand Up. He was a true pioneer creating poetry that spoke directly about the Establishment's excessive control and lack of 'understanding'. Bob brings to light the implications of this 'control' on our collective consciousness and way of life as children of this natural and beautiful universe.

Interpret this as you will, share your thoughts with us, your viewpoints or perhaps another inspirational piece that has touched your soul and pushes you forward in these transitional times when humanity is facing of with Super National entities that incessantly and inherently, vie for control; instead of seeking unification through compassion and true virtue that follow the laws of the universe.

The link to the live cocert is below as well as the lyrics.

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!

Preacher man, don't tell me,
Heaven is under the earth.
I know you don't know
What life is really worth.
It's not all that glitters is gold;
'Alf the story has never been told:
So now you see the light, eh!
Stand up for your rights. come on!

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!

Most people think,
Great god will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. jah!

Get up, stand up! (jah, jah! )
Stand up for your rights! (oh-hoo! )
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up! )
Don't give up the fight! (life is your right! )
Get up, stand up! (so we can't give up the fight! )
Stand up for your rights! (lord, lord! )
Get up, stand up! (keep on struggling on! )
Don't give up the fight! (yeah! )

We sick an' tired of-a your ism-skism game -
Dyin' 'n' goin' to heaven in-a Jesus' name, lord.
We know when we understand:
Almighty god is a living man.
You can fool some people sometimes,
But you can't fool all the people all the time.
So now we see the light (what you gonna do?),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (yeah, yeah, yeah! )

So you better:
Get up, stand up! (in the morning! git it up! )
Stand up for your rights! (stand up for our rights! )
Get up, stand up!
Don't give up the fight! (don't give it up, don't give it up! )
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up! )
Stand up for your rights! (get up, stand up! )
Get up, stand up! (... )
Don't give up the fight! (get up, stand up! )
Get up, stand up! (... )
Stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up!
Don't give up the fight!

Bob Marley and the wailers, obviously including bunny wailer and peter tosh are a part of my every day life. I truly believe that this music helps make me be a better person. Everyday I look forward to a little downtime and turn the reggae vibes on.

Thank you for the thread

I will close with a few quotes
"open your eyes and look within, are you satisfied with the life your living?"

"Life is one big road with lots of signs, when your troddin through the ruts dont complicate your mind. flee from hate mischief and jealousy, dont bury your thoughts put your vision into reality. WAKE UP AND LIVE!"
