View Full Version : Ghostly encounters and other phenomena

For many years now, I have experienced many strange and inexplicable phenomena. I have in my childhood seen (and experience other events at the same moment) ghosts or apparitions. Some were obvious to my perceptions at the time, other not so apparent. It seems other phenomena that I personal experienced are interlinked and may have some deeper meaning for me personally and possible spiritual connotations.
Throughout our existence here in the physical plane we are constantly overlapping into other forms of existence and other dimensions and realms of possibilities. Many people seem to be more sensitive to these encounters or events. All of these, have deep seated reasons for us to experience them, some I and others understand, but some to me, even now, do not. It is like trying to put together a picture, but not have all the pieces.
I believe all these experiences that I and many others have had, are apart of a spiritual process of learning, and also to create a reaction in the physical plane to cause other events in our lives to happen. Even though some encounter may not be understood at the time.

it the gentle nudge telling you there is more to life than what you see in the physical...things seen are temporary, things not seen are eternal ...

Bogeyman, would you care to share any specific experiences you've had? Perhaps those which have seemed the most profound/significant/mysterious to you?
I am not like you in this regard. I have never seen a ghost, UFO, or extraterrestrial (though I have experienced a few...other things). I was once quite envious of those who did, but later I learned of the challenges and alienation which come with encounters that you cannot explain and are rarely believed. I'm sure it can be immensely frustrating. At least now, I'm at the point in which I don't dismiss phenomena that I haven't personally encountered, or don't fully understand myself.

That was really good insight.

Great perception and accurate from my experience.
I have seen ghosts (grey 3d transparent images) twice, the first one was a 3d transparent image of family members 3 years in to my future. The second one I saw I absolutely do not want happen.
I truly believe that the first image of my family members was to make me aware that when I see the second one I need to change it so it doesn't happen in my future.

I have also experienced unusual phenomenon since I was a child. My experiences are usually clairvoyant visions, although I have met transdimensional beings and entities both in my shamanic journeys and also in waking life with eyes wide open.
I suspect that there are many people with psychic abilities of various sorts who will be "coming out of the closet" in the near future when they realize that psychic skills are normal human abilities that have been massively repressed and actively suppressed by society.
I believe that these so called "supernatural" abilities are actually part of our human birthright.

There is no space and time in our quantum universe. There are a variety of simple techniques you can use to literally delete that possibility from your timeline.

i have experienced things moving in my apartment when i was not home. twice i had found my shoes neatly placed on top of my flip top garbage can in the kitchen. in my reality, the shoes were quite far (minimum of 3-4 ft away) from the garbage can (in the morning) in both instances prior to them appearing on the garbage (in the evening). also the cat food ended up on top of the garbage as well one morning when the shoes were not any where near the kitchen on purpose. the cat food however was beside the fridge (2-3ft away from the garbage). at this point i yelled my frustration (on the 3rd day, 3rd show i should say) and it never happened again.
during all this my hair brush appeared on the box of laundry detergent (4-5 ft away). it was just random things, but nerving because i lived alone and i knew it was supernatural.

I think we are all born with the gift of psychic ability.
Slowly as we turn from toddlers to children, we are told don't be afraid, go back to sleep, there's nothing really there, don't be silly, ghosts don't exist.
As our parents or guardians instill this in us, the part of the brain that works as our spiritual antenna slowly fades and ceases to function.
It seems more and more people are 'tuning back in' now?
I think its a good point that maybe the dimensions are overlapping and getting closer?
I often wonder what makes spirits make contact, in my experience sometimes its clear and other times it makes no sense at all, why me, why now? Why sometimes do you feel comforted in their presence and other times scared or uneasy?
Do they exist in a dimension that is parallel to ours, where they can see us but we cant always see them unless they change frequency maybe?
This always confuses me!

It seems to me that they are like us, in that some can see all of us all the time, most of them never see us (we are ghosts to them). And yes, I think "frequency" has a lot to do with it, though know little to nothing on the subject--I am completely insensitive to them, can't see of feel them, though they are always around, and I attract sensitive people into my life, so have seen their effects on the 3d/mundane world often enough to know they are around and (at least some of them) conscious...able to make decisions and/or contact with our plane of existence...

I agree with you, although I wonder when, or if we'll ever realize how the can connect with us and why.

I was attacked by a ghost when I was a child.
Another ghost turned my stereo on and off several times in a row, while I was sleeping. Woke me up:(.
Then I unplugged it.

I've had also my own experiences, and I've seen supernatural beings. However, I would warn you to take care if these experiences, visions, etc. happen when you are at a particular delicate moment of your life, no matter how impressive and divine these experiences could seem. You could end up being a puppet in the hands of those unknown forces, and gently pushed to do what they want (whatever it is). We are powerful, but we are in the dark. Treacherous situation...

Heh, the one my best friend and I let in his home with a ouija board (can you believe they were marketed as a children's toy in America?? The game section of department stores FFS!! No wonder this joint is so screwed up!)...anyway this dude was mean and attacked his family members on a few occasions (so I heard), but my experience with him was he turned the old timey furniture size radio on...after we unplugged it the second time we had to come down and turn it off. He blasted it full volume and turned it off as we entered the room.
My boy's dad is real tough guy and would never admit to anyone who hadn't stayed there he see. A ghost, but he knew I knew so said the dude (this is why I know it's a him) was angry and confronted him in his dream, he tried hitting him but was powerless, dude grabbed him up and he awoke with chest feeling crushed struggling for breath. He did the same to his gramma when she was wide awake

Well, my story is extremely weird. I was sharing it with my sister and I think its best I share what happened! Yesterday night, I went to bed around 9.30. Normally, I am a light sleeper, but yesterday I was in a deep-state of unconsciousness. Around midnight I had the most bizarre feeling, and I still feel creeped out by it! I felt that this dark energy had surrounded my body and I felt immobile. My conscious mind knew that I was still asleep, but I felt like I was having an out of body experience. When I opened my eyes, I could see a cloud like energy surrounding my body and it was choking my entire body. I tried to fight it, yet I could not let go of its hold. Instead, I suddenly jolted myself and I opened my eyes. Even after "waking up" I could feel its presence in my entire body.
Any thoughts? I have not had this experience before! I still get hives when I think of it.

I have no insights, but my gf (who sees interdimensional beings of all sorts all the time) mentioned the "presence" that visited the other night (she seems to be aware of a constant myriad of visitors, who I cannot see and normally sleep through) was a dark, smoky cloud, though it stayed on the ceiling & didn't directly interact with us (perhaps due to the focused intent of Avalon I requested for us ;) )
I do have a lot of experience with others telling me of the "shadow man" we co-habitate(d)--no ones mentioned his presence in a couple months now, perhaps he's gone--but I bring it up because she told me i "awoke" one night and addressed him directly in my half-sleep state, and at that she thought it was the dude but described it looking like you describe.
Anyways, if you have one of those, perhaps search that term on this site, lots of people seem to experience that, and I'm not sure "shadow men" are any different from the dark smokey cloud phenomenon....

I will post my experience as an independent post and see if anyone else has experienced it! Thank you for your post.

My impression of your description is that it sounds like you were enduring an episode of 'sleep paralysis' which is also associated with the OBE phenomenon.
I am reading a book about OBE's right now. The book is called 'Astral Dynamics' by Robert Bruce. In the book he describes this 'mind split' effect that occurs during OBE's where by your consciousness splits or branches off while simultaneously inhabiting both your physical body and extending outside of your physical body. In his description of his experiences, he says it was possible for him to both perceive his physical body while outside of it, but also to perceive his consciousness/soul/energy being outside of his physical body but from the vantage point of his physical body. I can't really describe it well while paraphrasing, sorry if it sounds confusing.
That 'energy' you saw surrounding your body may have in fact been YOUR energy. : )
The 'presence' you felt in your body may have been the sensation of your activated 'energy body'. People can feel/experience this sensation during meditation. Almost like a tingling/electrical sensation deep in their limbs/body.
You said you felt like you were experiencing or about to experience in OBE so your post triggered my recollection of the passages from that book I am reading. The OBE can/do occur when your body is asleep but your mind remains awake. Keep in mind that your mind disconnects from your body during the sleep/dream state so that you do not act out your dreams and hurt yourself. This is why epsides of 'sleep paralysis' are experienced both before and after one enters the deep sleep/dream state.
I've read the fastest way to regain movement while experiencing the 'sleep paralysis' state is to try and move/wiggle one of your big toes. Apparently it's the easiest portion of your body to begin moving so you can regain normal motor/sensory functioning and restore full operation between the mind (brain) & body.
