For 56 days now, dozens of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba have taken part in a
massive hunger strike. The reason for the refusal to eat is an effort to protest the
treatment within the facility, and according to the prisoners' attorneys they are willing
to lose their lives in the process. According to the US military, some of the captives
have been force fed through feeding tubes, but still much of the details of the protest
are shrouded in secrecy. Jason Leopold, lead investigative reporter with TruthOut, joins
us with the latest.

Prisoners at Guantanamo Bay are on a hunger strike. Are Obama's plans to close
the facility permanently dead? Why are the prisoners being denied due process?
And what does this say about the respect for human and civil rights? CrossTalking
with Thomas Wilner, Charles Stimson and Vijay Padmanabhan.

The cross talk debate, highlights the merkyside to this, I think who ever was in the Whitehouse
would be pressured not to release them. There seems to be an agenda to keep this facility open.
Probably in case they invade another country in the near future, like Syria, Sudan or a false flag
and its eadier to keep them there than the mainland US.

The prisoners' hunger strike at Guantanamo Bay has been continuing for two
months now. Despite no sign of a conclusion, the inmates' protest has managed to
bring the Guantanamo issue back into the spotlight. After interest in the camp
appeared to fall by the wayside, mainstream journalists are once again asking the
U.S. authorities uncomfortable questions about the prison. Alexey Yaroshevsky
looks at the latest verbal exchange at the U.S. State Department press briefing.
