I think the big threads are marvellous to visit and spend hours looking through, however, sometimes it is important to highlight a new development in its own thread, especially the release of a new book or documentary that presents groundbreaking material. Highlighting something of importance attracts new readers (because the headline is grabbed by google and other engines very quickly) helping to promote new developments as they emerge and send them out into a wider audience.

Thank you so much for this Helvetic. Recently I have been collecting stories from the afterlife (mostly channeled and then written as a book in the earlier part of the twentieth century when spiritualism was very popular). What started off as curiosity is turning into a serious research project. This information from Buhlman is very useful to me and I missed it when it was posted elsewhere. (Buhlman talks about OBEs, not channeled messages from that afterlife, but in both cases it is the spirit that leaves the physical body.)

This is a fantastic interview. Especially because the interviewer herself experiences OBEs and the conversation is a two way discussion of the experiences. Mr. Buhlman says this new third book Adventures in the Afterlife is his first in 12 years, and I went to look inside his first book Adventures Beyond the Body (published in 1996) and The Secret of the Soul (published in 2001) and now look forward to the third book. (Still not finished with his first 2 books, but I read multiple books at the same time.)

I listened again this week to his audio How to Have an Out of Body Experience, and have also started Mr Robert Monroe's audio as well (unfortunately I have only fallen asleep each time on disk 2). The two audios seem to have entirely different styles, with Mr. Buhlman doing some talking about the OBE experience on various cds, followed with assorted styles of guided meditations, and so far on the 2 cds I've used from TMI (The Monroe Institute), the first CD was Robert Monroe talking about OBE and the second CD was entirely to be an OBE exercise, starting with the ocean wave sounds, instructions to get comfortable, some other faint background sounds?, the affirmation and some instructions . . . ZZZZZZZZZ . . . then waking up to hear him do a numerical countdown. Since I have fallen asleep each time I've listened to the second Robert Monroe OBE CD, I intend to listen to it while doing chores outside, and maybe I will get to hear consciously the exercise on the second CD.

But, I want to thank you for providing a link to this excellent interview with William Buhlman introducing his third book, this is an exceptionally interesting interview because the questions asked are so pertinent and the conversation is so organic and not just some interviewer going down a list of questions.

Thanks for posting this interview, which illustrates his honest integrity, in the manor of his presentation.

It was this sincere integrity that drew me to him, and the main reason that I purchased his books. I found his teaching methodology, presicely what I was looking for, and thus enabled me to go Astral. It has been an extremely wild and crazy ride to this point, and I am just getting started. And yes I do have a thread listed under "Spirituality".

May your new explorations into the wonderfull world of Spirit, be joyfull, and filled with great wonder in discovering who YOU really are.

Very good interview. His way of looking at things makes a lot of sense to me. The main thing I think when I hear about this stuff, is why aren't OBEs easier to have? I've never had an OBE, but I want to learn. I know there are lots of people who have spontaneous ones, or ones like the host of the show talked about having at the dentist, but just imagine a world where it was a common experience that everyone has had this happen even if they didn't really try. I thought it was interesting hearing him talking about requesting cancer healing while in OBE state. He had stage 4 cancer, and is still around. Wow. I don't think he said in particular who he was requesting healing from. Anyway, if that works for healing, I think everyone who can achieve OBE should at least give it a try.
