Jones will personally fly in from Austin, Texas to attend the protest which will take place outside the Grove luxury resort hotel at which Bilderberg members will plot and scheme with complete disregard for the democratic process. One of the big questions surrounding Jones’ confrontation of Bilderberg is whether the United Kingdom will attempt to bar him from entering the country, just as they did with fellow talk show host Michael Savage back in 2009 after Savage was accused of making statements deemed “a threat to national security.”

The ban on Savage was initially ordered by the left-wing Labour government but later re-affirmed by the Conservatives. Savage was placed on a list of 16 people barred from the country because of their political views. Others on the list included Ku Klux Klan grand wizard Stephen Donald Black and neo-Nazi Erich Gliebe.

Jones previously ran into problems when attempting to cover Bilderberg back in 2006 when Canadian authorities detained him and his crew for over 15 hours on the orders of the Bilderberg group, subjecting them to an intense barrage of interrogation.

Aware of the fact that UK authorities could be considering attempting to bar Jones from entering the country, Infowars will have a network of influential politicians and media personalities waiting to cause a public relations stink if any problems are encountered.

But what’s going on with the latest confab between power and money over on Kiawah Island?

MINI BILDERBERG MEETING CALLED?
As of right now, it seems like this closed doors event is sort of a mini Bilderberg group meeting of sorts. One local CBS affiliate, one of the only news sources to be covering this since it’s a local issue, says that around 20 highly expensive jets were lined up at the Charleston International Airport on Johns Island, and that Bill Gates and others were at the Sanctuary Hotel on Kiawah Island. The attendee list, according to the CBS report, includes Jeb Bush, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Bill and Melinda Gates, Dan Gilbert (owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers), Warren Buffet, Oprah, and others.



The island is an ideal spot for anyone seeking to avoid the activists that follow the Bilderberg group due to the fact that the island itself is actually a beach slash golf course enclosed with gated security. The population of the island is only a bit above 1,000, and is primarily a private resort for the rich. According to the local CBS affiliate, security has been high throughout the week and the public is not allowed near the hotel.

As for what they’re doing here on this mini Bilderberg-styled escapade, the mayor offers a hilariously ridiculous statement to the CBS affiliate WBTW:

“We wish them luck with what they’re doing,” Mayor Charles Lipuma said. “If they want to play golf, they couldn’t have picked a better weekend. We are glad we could offer them great weather.”

The mayor is just so thrilled he could offer them up some great weather, who cares about what they’re actually doing. How sweet. CBS says that the meet concerns the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which apparently is hosting the Bilderberg-styled event that violates fundamental laws regarding the creation of policy behind closed doors.

Put simply, BIlderberg is merging with Google under the stewardship of Google CEO Eric Schmidt, a regular Bilderberg attendee. Google’s annual Zeitgeist conference, which has been based at the Grove since 2007, immediately precedes the Bilderberg Group conference by a matter of days.
Backed up by prior research, we were able to confirm in conversations with hotel managers and others that the Grove is now a central base for Google’s agenda to control the global political and technological landscape.
The talk in the Grove is not of Bilderberg, that is barely a footnote, the real excitement centers around Google Zeitgeist, which was described by the London Independent as, “a cuddlier version of the Bilderberg Group, the supposedly shadowy network of financiers that holds a private annual assembly, recast in the image of our new tech masters.”
Bilderberg is indeed being recast as ‘Google-Berg’ – partly because of efforts on behalf of activists to tear away the veil of Bilderberg’s much cherished secrecy, and partly as a means of re-branding authoritarian, undemocratic secret gatherings of elites as trendy, liberal, feel-good philanthropic-style forums like Google Zeitgeist and TED.
In reality, behind the scenes Google is using such forums as proving grounds on which to form the consensus that shapes the globe. We were told directly that the organizers behind the so-called “Arab Spring,” which began in Tunisia and Egypt, which as we have documented is in fact a series of contrived western-backed color revolutions masquerading as organic uprisings, were recruited by Google and subsequently attended the Zeitgeist conference at the Grove.
It’s also well documented that the man responsible for kick-starting the “revolution” in Egypt, which led to the installation of a Muslim Brotherhood dictatorship which the west can now use as a justification for further intervention, was Google employee Wael Ghonim.
Google’s growing influence within both the British and American governments is also well documented. Eric Schmidt was a campaign advisor and a major donor to Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. He was also reportedly offered the post of Treasury Secretary within the Obama administration. In Britain, Google representatives have met no less than 23 times with Conservative Party officials since the general election in 2010. David Cameron addressed the inaugural 2006 Zeitgeist conference before going on to become Prime Minister four years later. British Chancellor George Osborne paid a visit to Zeitgeist just weeks before he also attended Bilderberg 2011 in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

The crossover between Zeitgeist and Bilderberg has deepened in recent years, with the London Telegraph comparing the power of the Google confab to the World Economic Forum in Davos, “attracting figures of global significance to talk and to network.”
Former US President Bill Clinton, groomed by the Bilderberg Group, has also given speeches at Zeitgeist, as has fellow Bilderberg attendee Prince Charles. Another Telegraph report described Zeitgeist as, “one of the most high-powered gatherings of business leaders, thinkers and those that are considered to generally shape the global future.”
Google is clearly positioning itself to become a force more powerful than governments in controlling and monitoring people’s behavior across the globe through all manner of different means, from cars that drive themselves (and are constantly tracked by a centralized Google database), to Google Glass which is akin to having a Google microchip in your forehead, to Google’s deep involvement in manipulating mass movements through social media as they did in Egypt and Tunisia.
The Grove Hotel is a perfect staging ground for such machinations given its role in World War 2 as a “secret wartime HQ for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway” named “Project X”.
The direction in which this is all heading can clearly be surmised from remarks made by Eric Schmidt himself, who has repeatedly made it clear that he thinks privacy is a relic of the past and plans to turn Google into the ultimate Big Brother that makes George Orwell’s 1984 look like a children’s fairy tale.
“We don’t need you to type at all. We know where you are. We know where you’ve been. We can more or less know what you’re thinking about.”
“I actually think most people don’t want Google to answer their questions [...] They want Google to tell them what they should be doing next.”
“If you have something that you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.”
“We need a [verified] name service for people,” he said. “Governments will demand it.” (Chinese-style Internet control).
“We know everything you’re doing and the government can track you.”
“We will know your position down to the foot and down to the inch over time…Your car will drive itself, it’s a bug that cars were invented before computers…you’re never lonely…you’re never bored…you’re never out of ideas.”
In numerous speeches, including those made at Google Zeitgeist, Schmidt has outlined his vision for a collectivist, permanently networked world in which individuality and privacy are ostracized and those who refuse to sign up to the new religion of transhumanism are shunned as sub-human savages.
That is the primary agenda now being formulated by Google Zeitgeist luminaries in concert with the Bilderberg Group, which shares many of the same members.
A Busy Time at the Grove
Our source told us that there were “four or five big conferences” coming up at the Grove in May, June and July, but intimated that Google Zeitgeist was clearly considered the biggest, with the 227 room hotel not even large enough to accommodate all the guests and administrative staff required to be in attendance, adding that they had to be put up in London hotels.

Huge temporary structures, watched by security guards, were also being constructed on grounds near to the hotel when we visited. These are set to be used for Google’s ‘Big Tent’ event, which is a more public showcase than their private ‘Zeitgeist’ confab. Whether the facilities will also be used by the Bilderberg Group remains to be seen.
The source emphasized that Grove staff had been told not to disclose any information about the Zeitgeist conference and that Google only released information they wanted the public to know. However, the upcoming confab was the talk of the bar and both employees and guests were clearly excited about it.
The source said that security for the event was the same as when heads of state would visit and that the hotel was coordinating with “state security” to run the conference, which inevitably means that taxpayer money will be used to fund the operation, as it is admittedly being used to provide security for Bilderberg. He added that the likes of Google and Bilderberg chose the Grove as a venue because security was far easier to provide compared to hotels in London which are surrounded by high-traffic streets.
Bilderberg’s 2013 Agenda
In terms of Bilderberg’s agenda for the 2013 confab, early indications from our inside source have thrown up a number of different issues that will be up for discussion before Bilderberg instructs its members to implement the agreed upon consensus in each of their fields of influence.
Bear in mind that the motivation behind Bilderberg’s scheming can probably best be encapsulated by remarks made by Bilderberg luminary Henry Kissinger which recently came to light thanks to Wikileaks.
“Before the Freedom of Information Act, I used to say at meetings, ‘The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.’ [laughter] But since the Freedom of Information Act, I’m afraid to say things like that,” said Kissinger.

At least some if not all of the following issues will be discussed and agreed upon at Bilderberg 2013.
- Targeting Iran’s nuclear processing facilities for destruction via air strikes within the next 3 years if Tehran refuses to give up its nuclear program.
- Prolonging the war in Syria by arming the rebels and overturning recent military victories by Assad’s forces.
- The threat of a global pandemic, caused in part by rising resistance to antibiotics, which given the role of some of the pharmaceutical companies represented at Bilderberg in “accidentally” releasing viruses is somewhat rich.
- The manufacturing revolution of 3D printing and ways to control it and prevent the democratization of production.
- So-called “cyber resilience,” which means more state control over the Internet. There is much talk of “Digital Wildfires” – they are scared stiff about losing control over information dissemination.
- Setting up a Ministry of Truth for the Internet similar to that advocated by Bill Clinton. Controlling what can be published on the Internet.
- Advancing so-called “smart cities” that spy on every aspect of public behavior. Installing systems like Intellistreets that record street conversations. Rolling out the landscape of the technocracy.
- The threat caused to social stability by declining living standards and wealth.
- A desperate last gasp move to prevent Britain from leaving the EU and crushing the dream of a centralized European federation.
- More bailouts to prop up the euro.
- Minimal economic growth in 2013.
- Increasing the amount of power obtained by central banks under the guise of “bank reform”.
- Organizing more aggressive powers of tax collection
- Managing a growing credit bubble that threatens runaway inflation in Europe.

Bilderberg to allow press past entrance to the Grove

Following a meeting with the Police Liaison Officer, Steve Lee, who is responsible for managing the protest at the upcoming Bilderberg Meeting, the area suggested for the media is inside the front entrance of The Grove Hotel and the adjacent field to directly facing the front entrance, with a good view of all incoming and exiting vehicles as well as areas on the inside of the main entrance behind the small boxhedges to accommodate the large numbers of media wishing to cover the event.

It has also been confirmed that portable toilet facilities will be supplied at the site where it is expected that numbers in the hundreds will congregate to welcome Bilderberg attendees to The Grove for their annual conference.

An area of the field behind the metal railings will be available to accommodate anyone wishing to voice their opinions on the event.

However, the main stipulation to allow the media and other protesters onto The Grove Hotel site is that it will require a pat down by private security firm G4S. This is a requirement of The Grove Hotel and NOT the Hertfordshire Police Constabulary. A request for exactly what this will entail shall be made available in the coming days but I have been told it will not be as intrusive as currently being used at airports. Steve Lee and other police officers will be present at all times to ensure compliance of G4S within the agreed limits of their pat downs.

It has also been proposed that the area just outside the gates will be cordoned off with barriers to allow those who don’t wish to be searched the opportunity to protest in safety. It is a very busy road with large volumes of traffic and this is an understandable precaution to avoid any accidents.

It has also been proposed by Steve Lee that parking for media and private vehicles may be made available on Hempstead Road which although having the same name as the main road passing the front entrance is actually directly opposite the main entrance and runs parallel to the main Hempstead Road accessible via Courtland’s Drive which is first left after the main entrance coming from the M25.

It is also hoped that a catering outlet will be present on, or close to, the main entrance.

At this year’s Bilderberg conference, for the first time, there will be a Press Office – hosted by the Bilderberg Welcoming Committee – located on the hotel grounds. The aim of the Press Office will be to facilitate the mainstream and alternative media in their coverage of the meeting.

The Press Office will be located in a larger Reception Zone, within the grounds of The Grove Hotel (near the hotel gates). It will provide journalists, photographers, bloggers and researchers with information on this year’s conference, and details about the delegates: including an ID service for delegate photographs.

Besides the Press Office, the Reception Zone will feature a place for speakers, lavatories, and a view of the hotel drive for photographers. Electricity will be available at the Press Office for recharging cameras and phones.

There will be liaison officers from the Hertfordshire Constabulary present in the Reception Zone for the duration of the conference.

The Bilderberg Welcoming Committee is a loose association of pro-transparency campaigners, journalists and organizations, who will be hosting the Press Office.

Press relations

This is the first officially sanctioned Press Office for the Bilderberg conference, and is a considerable step forward in the relations between the conference and the press.

The Bilderberg Group is famously shy of press attention. An article in the Daily Express, February 12, 1957 (a few years after the first official conference) shows how a veil of “secrecy and security” was drawn over the event:

But this attitude is finally changing, as the Chancellor George Osborne (Bilderberg attendee 2005-9, 2011) said, shortly after taking office: “We have already begun to implement the most radical transparency agenda the country has ever seen” (speech, June 8, 2010).

This sentiment was echoed, a year later, by David Cameron himself, in Prime Minister’s Questions (July 13, 2011):

“the relationship between politicians and the media must change and we must be more transparent, too, about meetings, particularly with executives, editors, proprietors and the rest of it.”

The Press Office and Reception Zone at the 2013 Bilderberg conference is a welcome part of this shift towards transparency.

The selective transparency of Neelie Kroes

Business Background

Neelie Kroes is Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda. She has attended eight Bilderberg conferences to date, every year since 2005.

She joined the EU Commission in 2004. According to the BBC: “At the time, the former Dutch transport minister was on the board of 12 companies, including Volvo and the French defence group Thales. She had also worked as a lobbyist for Lockheed-Martin.”

Her official EU Biographical Sketch gives a long list of her previous business interests – which includes being on the Supervisory Board of McDonald’s, the Advisory Board of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and the Supervisory Board of New Skies Satellites.

Open Governing

The keyword in the speeches and writings of Commissioner Kroes is “open” – whether it’s “open data”, “open science”, “open education” or an “open internet”. In June 2010 she said:

“I think that openness is a core European value, and one of our strengths, and I do see it as contributing to our ability to innovate.”

She stresses both the economic and the social value of openness. She believes governments should be open with their data, and that an open government is one the people can trust. In a speech entitled ‘From Crisis of Trust to Open Governing’, delivered in March 2012, she says:

“Today’s economic crisis is a testing time for our democracies. Just look at the amount of protests in our streets across Europe. We need to bring back the trust in markets, in governments. Especially for young people who are massively left aside at the moment. One way to create trust is by increasing transparency in government. Citizens will be more confident if they can verify that the people they have elected inform them about what they do and how they do it.”

A transparent government is a trusted government. And, as an EU Commissioner, Neelie Kroes can say with some pride:

“the EU is fully committed to open government and data”.

In October 2012, Kroes explained how information can “empower citizens” and help people “hold their governments to account”. The more open the government, the more accountable it is. And the more accountable, the more trusted:

“We can change the relationship between governments and citizens. Putting public data online is a great example. It means more transparency in government.”

This is her ideal: more openness, more data, more transparency, more accountability. An ideal which she sees alive and well in Europe – as she said in March of this year:

“Europe is a home of democracy, transparency and fundamental rights”.

True Colours

European Commissioner Neelie Kroes has been to eight Bilderberg conferences, and hasn’t made a single public statement about these meetings. At the last gathering, in Chantilly, she spent three days – meeting in private – with two other European Commissioners (Joaquín Almunia and Karel de Gucht) along with the following elected public servants (showing their office at the time):

This private policy summit – heaving with corporate executives and packed with politicians – is the very opposite of “transparency in government”. Openness may be a “core European value” but when it comes to Bilderberg, it’s not a value that’s exhibited by Neelie Kroes.

'A spokesman for the Hertfordshire police, responsible for managing the protests
from June 6-9 outside the Grove Hotel, has stated that reporters and protesters will
be allowed inside the outer gates of the Grove Hotel, giving them a fairly good view
of all incoming- and outgoing Bilderberg participants. The downside is, that the

As today's groundbreaking revelations by Infowars will possibly reveal, Bilderberg is
moving itself into a new hybrid leviathan, with Google as the new vehicle for policy
implementation. A new generation has emerged, alligning itself with the good old
boys at Bilderberg. Not that this newer generation has appeared out of thin air to
rock the world of the old-timers. Far from it. The key players now taking the digital
helm in this probable "Googleberg" construct are literally the offspring of the older
players who are keenly aware that if the ancient agenda is to endure, a merger
with the new guard needs to be established.

One such key player who has presumably been offered the steering wheel in both
policy setting- and operational activities, is the son of the former queen Beatrix of
the Netherlands, Constantijn van Oranje-Nassau. As EU commissioner Neelie Kroes'
first man in her "digital agenda" cabinet, Constantijn is well placed to play a key
role in securing the reigns in the hands of international bankers who make the final
decisions. Constantijn was described as "programme associate" of the Bilderberg
group on the official royal website back in 2009. Although the website scrubbed the
mention shortly after I published this information on Infowars.com, the original
cached page was salvaged thanks to vigilant observers in the alternative media.

The Grove Hotel, site of the 2013 Bilderberg Group conference, is an ideal spot for
a clandestine meeting because it is secluded by huge driveways and hundreds of
acres of land. Access for protesters to congregate is virtually non-existent, meaning
journalists and activists will be kept far from the actual hotel.

The back exit at the Grove Hotel, site of the clandestine 2013 Bilderberg Group
meeting, is not as long as the front entrance, but there's little room for protesters
to gather nearby which is probably why the Grove was selected as a good venue.
Activists will be able to gather along the side of the road. The Mayor of Watford has
already demonized activists by suggesting they will stage violence at the event.

You would think that over a hundred of the world’s most influential power brokers meeting in secret would make for an interesting news story, but not according to Irish national broadcaster RTE, which has refused to send reporters to cover the 2013 Bilderberg Group conference.


Asked by Infowars reader Billy Quilter if RTE intended to report on a confab involving, “the most wealthy, powerful and influential people in the world of politics, finance and business,” set to take place in Watford, England next week, the broadcaster responded by saying it didn’t think such an event was worthy of attention.

“The world’s media doesn’t cover these meetings generally because we get no access, no interviews and are told nothing about the private discussions that go on inside. This group is one of many that happen every year as a talking shop, although as you rightly point out a high-level one. In RTE’s case, I don’t think it would be good value to stand outside the Grove for 3 days on that basis,” replied Kevin Bakhurst, RTE’s Managing Director of news and current affairs.
Is it really any wonder why mainstream media is losing its audience to independent broadcasters given that companies like RTE refuse to perform the very task for which they were supposedly founded – investigative journalism – and instead will only cover issues if they are given “access” and spoon fed talking points to blithely regurgitate?

Infowars has obtained maps released by Hertfordshire Police which illustrate how the entire area surrounding the site of the 2013 Bilderberg Group conference in Watford, UK will be subject to a substantial security lock down which will restrict both protesters and members of the press from exercising their free speech rights.

The maps show that the back entrance to the Grove Hotel will be almost completely inaccessible, partly as a result road closures manned by police checkpoints and partly as a result of pedestrians being prohibited from walking on the road.

This means that the majority of Bilderberg members are certain to use the back entrance and therefore avoid being confronted by protesters or photographed by media – as we predicted weeks ago – thereby defeating the whole purpose of demonstrators attending the event in the first place.

Indeed, the entire area including the stretch of road that leads up to and beyond the front entrance is designated as “pedestrians prohibited” and “no stopping or waiting”.

The security lock down – which is taxpayer funded – is being coordinated under the dubious guise of an “anti-terror exercise,” which is all the more ironic given the fact that the Honorary President of the Supreme Court of Italy recently fingered Bilderberg itself for being involved in terrorist attacks in Europe which took place under the auspices of Operation Gladio.

In addition, Watford Borough Council has rejected a Temporary Events Notice to hold the Bilderberg Fringe Festival, at which Alex Jones and David Icke are set to speak, in a nearby park, meaning thousands of people will descend on the area with nowhere to go.

In rejecting the application, Watford councilors are creating a massive public safety issue. Protesters and media representatives will now be bottle-necked into small areas clustered around the entrance to the Grove Hotel. This could easily lead to injuries caused by overcrowding as well as the area’s immediate proximity to a busy main road.

Watford Council and police authorities need to be reasonable in understanding that a deluge of people will be arriving whether they grant permission for the festival or not, meaning it is completely negligent on their behalf not to approve the application, which is now under appeal.

“By providing an alternative focal point for people to use their right to express themselves that was away from the Grove hotel we had hoped to reduce the pressure in what is a contentious area (the Grove gates),” said a statement by festival organizers.

“The safest and most appropriate place for people to gather was deemed Cassiobury Park, but with the decision makers in charge of community safety refusing to make any effort to appropriately engage and plan with the festival organisers, the hope of providing a safe area away from the Grove hotel has now proved impossible.”

“Watford Council should realise that public and press are coming to the area to document the conference and express their legitimate concerns about the way the Bilderberg group operates – and these crowds are coming anyway, regardless of whether a site for the Bilderberg Fringe Festival is found or not.”

In addition to the security lock down, which will include bag searches and metal detector wandings carried out by G4S private security for anyone entering the protest/press area, local residents have been told by police that they will have to present passports or other proof of identification simply to get to their own homes.

“I think it’s totally outrageous and it is infringing my civil liberties,” Kevin Butcher, a Grove Mill Lane resident, told the Watford Observer.

“G4S may photograph / video the protesters if necessary for safety and security,” states a Hertfordshire Police advisory, which also states that bullhorns will not be permitted although loud hailers will be authorized. The memo also states that no masks will be allowed.

The protest/press site will be open “at 9am and close at 8pm on Thursday 6th June. Thereafter the hours will be 8am-8pm on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th. The site hours will be 8am-2pm on Sunday 9th.”

Infowars is calling on everyone to make their presence known outside the Grove Hotel and send a message to authorities that attempts to stifle free speech and the freedom of the press will not be tolerated.

We have worked very closely with police in good faith in order to find a site which would cause minimum disruption to residents, and to the security arrangements around the Grove hotel, but have been frustrated during the last few weeks with a lack of engagement from both council and the police at a higher level.

Anti-Bilderberg activists have hit out at Watford Borough Council and police after their application to hold a fringe festival event in Cassiobury Park during the controversial conference was turned down.

The Bilderberg Welcoming Committee which is looking to organise a "family-oriented festival featuring entertainment including bands, DJs, speakers, public debate, theatre and art. Music genres are folk, jazz, world music and reggae” called the Bilderberg Fringe Festival.

Yet, after the application for a Temporary Events Notice (TEN) from June 7 to June 9 had been rejected by Watford Borough Council, the activists accused the council and police of “a lack of engagement”.



In a joint statement, members of the Bilderberg Welcoming Committee said: "We are disappointed that the Temporary Event Notice for our proposed event in Cassiobury Park is likely to be turned down.

I have had nothing to do with the organisation of this peaceful protest against the manipulation of world events by the Bilderberg Group at the Grove Hotel in Watford next week, but I did agree to speak there on Saturday, June 8th, along with Alex Jones.

The organisers have played the game absolutely straight, fair and by the rules by consulting with the police and Watford Borough Council to find a suitable location near the hotel that would be non-disruptive to the local community.




The organisers agreed with the police that Cassiobury Park, about two miles from the entrance to the Grove, would be the most suitable location but now Watford Borough Council has refused the request to hold the event next weekend because the application was not made three months in advance.

How can you apply three months in advance when the Bilderberg Group does not publish its intended locations and so they are only uncovered close to their meetings?

This is, in effect, a ban on the festival and there is no right of appeal. Objectors to it going ahead included Hertfordshire police.

What the police and the council should now take into serious account is the anger and outrage there will be among the thousands who were planning to be there at having their right to peaceful protest against a sinister and despicable organisation denied by the same police and council that are licking the arse of the Bilderberg organisers. Yes, sir, no, sir, G4S, sir.

Any protest is now confined to a tiny area near the entrance to the Grove Hotel and what if very large numbers of people who have had enough of the tail wagging the elephant turn up at the entrance to the Grove Hotel itself en masse? I will certainly be there on Saturday and speak in whatever form I can and I am sure that Alex Jones will do the same.

Think on, dark suits and uniforms, think on, because we THE PEOPLE have ****ing had enough.

For those of you who are suspicious of this new development please don't be.

The Hertfordshire police liaison officers have worked very hard to find us a place to gather and hear the talks, otherwise they know there will be hundreds, possibly thousands, of people turning up outside the Grove with no where to go owing to the prohibited pedestrian zones the powers that be have set up around the hotel. The Grove hotel was reluctant to concede this land until the police pointed out that they chose to take the money to host this high profile event, therefore they also had a responsibility to deal with the potential consequences. It is only because of the sheer force of our numbers that this concession is being made. Previously, there was to be a viewing area for the arrival of the cars and a press tent on this land. Now David Icke and Alex Jones are going to talk here, and we can also enjoy non-amplified music and other activities such as healing.

This is a big win for us. Nothing will irritate the Bilderberg conference more than us exercising our rights to free speech right in front of them. Why can't we accept that Herts police actually want this event to go smoothly and have no interest in a brutal stand-off? They have repeatedly told us that they want us to enjoy our free speech. Until I am proved otherwise I shall continue to trust this.

To get into this area there is a bag search, not a pat down.

No filming of protestors faces will take place, unless there is mass disorder (highly unlikely given the savvy nature of the crowd and Alex Jones will be very alert to this and immediately shut it down) and there will be warnings beforehand to allow us to calm things down before this filming begins.

Everyone entering the area will be given a leaflet outlining a clear strategy for dealing with agent provocateurs. The police are wholly supportive of this approach.

It will be extremely symbolic for us to hear David Icke and Alex Jones talk in view of the Grove hotel itself.

It seems to me that some people enjoy predicting the worst and almost want everything to go badly,- and I feel extremely sorry for these people. I know just how hard the negotiations have been to achieve this. When you're picking a spot to hold the world's most powerful policy summit, there's really only one place that will do: Watford. I guess the Seychelles must have been booked up.

On Thursday afternoon, a heady mix of politicians, bank bosses, billionaires, chief executives and European royalty will swoop up the elegant drive of the Grove hotel, north of Watford, to begin the annual Bilderberg conference.

It's a remarkable spectacle – one of nature's wonders – and the most exciting thing to happen to Watford since that roundabout on the A412 got traffic lights. The area round the hotel is in lockdown: locals are having to show their passports to get to their homes. It's exciting too for the delegates. The CEO of Royal Dutch Shell will hop from his limo, delighted to be spending three solid days in policy talks with the head of HSBC, the president of Dow Chemical, his favourite European finance ministers and US intelligence chiefs. The conference is the highlight of every plutocrat's year and has been since 1954. The only time Bilderberg skipped a year was 1976, after the group's founding chairman, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, was caught taking bribes from Lockheed Martin.

It may seem odd, as our own lobbying scandal unfolds, amid calls for a statutory register of lobbyists, that a bunch of our senior politicians will be holed up for three days in luxurious privacy with the chairmen and CEOs of hedge funds, tech corporations and vast multinational holding companies, with zero press oversight. "It runs contrary to [George] Osborne's public commitment in 2010 to 'the most radical transparency agenda the country has ever seen'," says Michael Meacher MP. Meacher describes the conference as "an anti-democratic cabal of the leaders of western market capitalism meeting in private to maintain their own power and influence outside the reach of public scrutiny".

But, to be fair, is "public scrutiny" really necessary when our politicians are tucked safely away with so many responsible members of JP Morgan's international advisory board? There's always the group chief executive of BP on hand to make sure they do not get unduly lobbied. And if he is not in the room, keeping an eye out, then at least one of the chairmen of Novartis, Zurich Insurance, Fiat or Goldman Sachs International will be around.

This year, there will be a great deal more "public scrutiny" of Bilderberg. Pressure from journalists and activists has won concessions from the venue: for the first time in 59 years there will be an unofficial press office, staffed by volunteers, on the grounds. Several thousand activists and bloggers are expected, along with photographers and journalists from around the world.

Back in 2009 there were barely a dozen witnesses – harassed and arrested by heavy-handed Greek police. This year there is a press zone, police liaison, portable toilets, a snack van, a speakers' corner – all the ingredients for a different Bilderberg. A "festival feel" has been promised. If you are concerned about transparency or lobbying, Watford is the place to be next weekend. Whether the delegates reach out to the press and public remains to be seen. Don't forget, they've got their hands full carrying out the good works of Bilderberg. The conference is, after all, run as a charity.

If you've been wondering who picks up the tab for this gigantic conference and security operation, the answer arrived last week, on a pdf file sent round by Anonymous. It showed that the Bilderberg conference is paid for, in the UK, by an officially registered charity: the Bilderberg Association (charity number 272706).

According to its Charity Commission accounts, the association meets the "considerable costs" of the conference when it is held in the UK, which include hospitality costs and the travel costs of some delegates. Presumably the charity is also covering the massive G4S security contract. Fortunately, the charity receives regular five-figure sums from two kindly supporters of its benevolent aims: Goldman Sachs and BP. The most recent documentary proof of this is from 2008 (pdf), since when the charity has omitted its donors' names (pdf) from its accounts.

The charity's goal is "public education". And how does it go about educating the public? "In furtherance of these objectives the International Steering Committee organises conferences and meetings in the UK and elsewhere and disseminates the results thereof by preparing and publishing reports of such conferences and meetings and by other means." Cleverly, it disseminates the results by resolutely keeping them away from the public and press.

The charity is overseen by its three trustees (pdf): Bilderberg steering committee member and serving minister Kenneth Clarke MP; Lord Kerr of Kinlochard; and Marcus Agius, the former chairman of Barclays who resigned over the Libor scandal.

Labour MP Tom Watson remarks: "If the allegations that a cabinet minister sits on the board of a charity that discreetly funds a secretive conference of elites are true then I hope the prime minister was informed. It was David Cameron who heralded the new age of transparency. I hope he asks Kenneth Clarke to adhere to these principles in future." At the very least, George Osborne and Clarke may consider adhering to the ministerial code when it comes to Bilderberg and declare it in their list of "meetings with proprietors, editors and senior media executives" as they've failed to do in the past. Of course, with the lobbying scandal in full spate it's possible our ministers will steer clear of such a major corporate lobbying event. We'll find out on Thursday.

Should have known it, LBC 97.3 FM failed to take Bilderberg on in an adult and serious manner, instead they used the time to make fun of anyone who pointed out what Bilderberg was all about.
James O'Brian the presenter did more than play devils advocate, he seemed to go out of his way to pooh pooh any suggestion that they could be dictating world policy.
For someone so well educated and smart he sadly let himself down. I think he refuses to see the bigger picture or is scared of being branded loony. JUST ANOTHER BLIND SHEEP.

The Good News from Bilderberg 2013 is that Bassma Kodmani, Member of the Executive Bureau and Head of Foreign Affairs for Syrian National Council, was not invited back. That Free Syrian Armt has been a real disaster of late for NATO. That is good news for Syria.

The Bad News is that after reading the bios of the Bilderberg attendees David Petraeus is an angel compared to half a dozen of the Israeli Firsters who are also attending including a couple from PNAC. You remember them. The guys who helped do 911.

Usually a week after the Bilderberg meeting we will see press articles detailing where they want us to go. I hope peace is on the agenda. Chinese experts who attended last year were not invited back.

Gfoeller, Michael USA Bio says Political Consultant. Actually he is on the Board of Advisors to the Chertoff Group. The former DHS Secretary sold toxic scanners to the US. Chertoff was head of the Criminal Division at the DOJ on 911 which means he was in charge of the coverup. Gfoeller worked for the US State Department for 26 years in eastern Europe, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. He worked with General David
Petraeus and also works with Exxon-Mobil for Government Affairs.

She is listed as a member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group. She and her husband switched from Liberal to Conservative over the Israel Lebanon war. PM Harper’s Chief of Staff used to work for her husband. Her uncle was the first Canadian to work with Bilderberg to break up Canada to get it into the North American Union.

Rey, Hélène France Professor of Economics, London Business School. She is an expert on currency exchange rates and trade imbalances.

Robertson, Simon GB Partner, Robertson Robey Associates LLP; Deputy Chairman, HSBC Holdings. What is it with these Bilderbergers and HSBC? If we ever take over, I think we will find most of their personal assets went through that bank.

Rocca, Gianfelice Italy Chairman,Techint Group. This is a worldwide steel producer with 24 billion dollars in annual sales.

Rostowski, Jacek Poland Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister. He was born and raised in London. His father worked for the British government after the war. He was a member of Britain’s Conservative Party. Poland was taken over by Israelis and returning Jews and foreigners. They need to grow their own leaders.

But he also went into the Harvard MBA program. I might not be alone in thinking that this medical model screams for reform. His wife is the niece of the former CEO of Sandoz. I believe drug companies should pay for the doctors to run trials for new drugs requiring them to be tested against home remedies alternative doctors are currently using. All drugs would be re-tested. The drug company would pay for the trial but a committee of doctors would administer the alternative treatment. For example, give 100,000 patients Vitamin D-3 and cinnamon to stabilize their diabetes. Test them monthly. They should do as well as drugged patients after 3 months with far fewer side effects. Beneficial side effects for Vitamin D3 are fewer winter colds and flu and a reduction of 72% of the incidence of a dozen different cancers. As soon as the results have verified, the government can issue a decree allowing insurance companies to refuse payment for any drug ruled to produce no better results than a home remedy. This would save money and require corporations to focus on real treatments and cures.

This group tries to make dumb billionaires look smart by buying stocks and sending share prices higher. This disguises bad policies for the government as well. Bilderberg to address protesters with statement?

A source close to the security operation for the 2013 Bilderberg Group conference has told Infowars that numerous members of the secretive organization are aggrieved at the way it is being operated with scant regard for transparency and are lobbying for Bilderberg steering committee members to allow them to address protesters this week.


The Bilderberg Group is an annual confab of around 140 of the world’s power brokers from the spheres of banking, business, government, and academia. This year it meets in Watford, England from June 6-9. The group notoriously loathes attention of any kind – which makes this development all the more groundbreaking.
The source made it clear to us that a number of Bilderberg members, presumably the newer and younger attendees, are unhappy at the way the group has conducted its activities with total contempt for the democratic process, which has resulted in an increasing number of protesters being drawn to the event each year.
Campaigners set to congregate within the grounds of the Grove, the 5 star luxury hotel at which Bilderberg will scheme, are preparing a speaking platform at which they will invite Bilderberg members to address demonstrators and the press.

If a member or a representative from Bilderberg does speak publicly about the organization, it would be an unprecedented move. However, anyone expecting the group to admit that it is a shadow government manipulating world affairs behind closed doors is probably going to be disappointed.
While the source did not mention the names of specific individuals who expressed this view, it’s reasonable to speculate that it is coming from the so-called ‘Libertarian camp’ within the group, headed up by Paypal founder and hedge fund manager Peter Thiel, who is again in attendance this year.
Another interesting detail to emerge from the source who spoke with Infowars is the fact that preparations for the Bilderberg conference in Watford have been ongoing for a staggering 18 months. This again underscores the reality that Bilderberg is a major hub of power and influence and not merely a casual talking shop or golfing holiday for the elite, which is how much of the mainstream media still spins it.

The 2013 Bilderberg Group meeting has already received a deluge of media coverage before it has even officially begun, a sign that public pressure is forcing the clandestine cabal to lift its veil of secrecy and become more open.
However, such a process inevitably means that Bilderberg members will merely shift into newly emerging power networks and Bilderberg’s influence will begin to wane – although this will go down as a major victory for those who have spent years attempting to deflate the group’s bubble of secrecy.

Since 2011 I’ve been locked in a battle with HM Treasury over George Osborne’s attendance at the conference in St.Moritz, Switzerland. Rather than tell me they don’t hold that information (which is what I was expecting), whoever replied to me, probably an uninformed intern, told me they DO hold information relating to the Bilderberg meeting.

For those who aren’t aware, the Freedom of Information Act is probably the most important piece of legislation in the country, if not the world. It gives the average citizen the right to access any recorded information ranging from local government files to environmental documents. The list is literally endless. I used it to see how the guy who holds the UK’s credit card spends his time away from the microscope at secret meetings in the Alps.

To cut a long story short, the maximum time that this whole process should have taken from start to finish was about six to eight months, depending on how far you take it. This time scale is within the statute for FOI requests. The body that you are asking for information from have a responsibility, by law, to provide you with this information within a set time. The Treasury did not meet this deadline. I can only imagine why they dragged their heels.

So after two years, not six months, of battling with the Treasury for this information and finally sending a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office, I received a twelve page document from the ICO outlining the reasons as to why I wasn’t allowed the information. When you aren’t allowed the information you asked for, they throw something called exemptions your way. I was thrown every exemption under the sun. They really didn’t want this information in my hands, or anyone’s hands for that matter.

When I did receive the twelve page document and read through it, at first I was disappointed. Two years of my life down the drain, for what? No information at all? They thought that telling me how much the trip to Switzerland cost would shut me up. After the expenses scandal, they seem to think this is all people care about. I couldn’t care less about the cost of his personal trip. But then someone told me to read between the lines. I re-read it, between the lines, and what I had was everything I needed. In some kind of twisted fate, they have actually released to me the reasons they can’t give me the information. And this information, is probably just as telling as if they’d given me what I was after.

What you are about to read has never been released, and from what I understand has never been done before. A FOI request that has been taken all the way to the Information Commissioners Office relating to the Bilderberg Group.

Below you will find my three documents relating to my correspondence with Her Majesty’s Treasury and the Information Commissioners Office dating back to June 2011.

DOCUMENT #1 - THE INITIAL REQUEST

My initial request was sent on June 13th 2011, the day after the conference finished. Note how I received my first response on July 12th 2011. The 20 working day reply was broken by one day. I’m not going to cry over that.
Also note on page 2:

‘The Treasury does hold additional information relating to the Chancellor’s discussions at Bilderberg.’


DOCUMENT #2 - THE EXEMPTIONS

What you must note here are the exemptions stated by the Treasury to not disclose the information to me.


Section 27(1)(b) - Information is exempt information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice relations between the United Kingdom and any international organization or international court.

Section 29 (1)(a) - Information is exempt if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice the economic interests of the United Kingdom or of any part of the United Kingdom.

The icing on the cake though?

Section 35(1)(a) - information relating to the formulation or development of government policy.

Hold on a second. Doesn’t the Bilderberg official website (www.bilderbergmeetings.org) state:


‘…no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.’

But even if there was any doubt that the 35 (1)(a) exemption would hold, Section 36 (2)(b)(i) would cover it. This exemption states:

Section 36 (2)(b)(i) - covering the free and frank provision of advice.

It goes onto state on the second and third paragraph of page 4,


‘Some of the information in the readout from the Chancellor’s discussions also contains elements which are intended to inform future Government policy.’

‘The information Commissioner has recognized that policy development needs a degree of freedom to enable the process to work effectively, and that there is public interest in protecting information where release would be likely to have a detrimental impact on the ongoing formulation of policy.’

For those who think it’s a talking shop, think no more. There is still only the smallest chance that this could be a talking shop. But to be honest, all of those hopes went out of the window the day I received this email.

DOCUMENT #3 - THE ICO REVIEW

Because of an unsatisfactory reply from the Treasury, the next stage was to take it to the Information Commissioners Office. Earlier in the year I finally received a 12 page document which would be the final call on this matter. I could take it to a First-Tier Tribunal, but after two years I’m exhausted and don’t want to go down a road that would probably end up costing me a lot of money.

As expected, the ICO sided with the Treasury and withheld the information. The 12 pages go into greater detail as to why the information was withheld but doesn’t shed much more light on the subject than it did in the previous internal review.


THE SUMMARY

What we have here are three documents that have only been seen by a handful of people. The reason I haven’t published them already is because I was waiting for the right time. Now that the UK is the home of Bilderberg 2013 and with the press storm mounting, now seems a good a time as any.

No longer can the Bilderberg Group claim to be a ‘talking shop’ or a ‘forum for discussion’. It may not be direct, but these few pieces of paper prove that whatever is spoken about inside these conferences does directly effect policy at the highest level of government.

What’s ironic is that both Osborne and Cameron seem to be advocates for transparency. After the MP’s expenses scandal and more recently the lobbying scandal, the public quite obviously need more transparency.


In The Observer in September 2010, David Cameron jumped on the transparency bandwagon:


“For too long those in power made decisions behind closed doors, released information behind a veil of jargon and denied people the power to hold them to account. This coalition is driving a wrecking ball through that culture – and it’s called transparency…”

In 2010, after he officially became Chancellor, George Osborne said:


‘We have already begun to implement the most radical transparency agenda the country has ever seen.’

David Cameron went on to say in May 2010:


“I want to get on with it, to make a start on this transparency revolution that we’re planning. In time, I want our government to be one of the most open and transparent in the world.”

A Bilderberg Group member is set to speak on record to the BBC in what represents an unprecedented move for the secretive organization, which is being forced to become more transparent in the face of huge protests and widespread condemnation.

In advance of an interview with Alex Jones today, a BBC reporter told Infowars that the broadcaster had approached a Bilderberg member for a television interview and although the person had refused to be on camera, a telephone interview was likely.
As we reported yesterday, a separate source close to the security operation surrounding the confab told Infowars that numerous Bilderberg Group members were aggrieved at the organization’s obsession with secrecy and wanted to see more transparency.
Campaigners are inviting Bilderberg members to come and address crowds of demonstrators and press at a specially constructed podium within the grounds of the Grove Hotel in Watford, which is where the conference is taking place behind a huge police presence.
Bilderberg’s veil of secrecy is being lifted as a result of serious mainstream media coverage – which took decades to achieve – along with a huge increase in the number of demonstrators who show up to denounce the annual confab as a shadowy lobbying network.
In addition, the establishment media hoax that Bilderberg has no influence and is merely a “talking shop” or a golfing holiday is quickly disintegrating.
The Telegraph reports today that the 2004 Bilderberg meeting in Stresa, Italy was where the head of BP Lord Browne suggested a monumental merger with Shell to create the world’s biggest oil company, a merger that many analysts still expect to see at some point.
If a Bilderberg member does agree to an interview with the BBC it would likely serve as an opportunity to downplay the significance of the group, but the mere fact that a participant of the secretive confab has been forced to speak publicly represents major progress.
It would also mark the first time a Bilderberg member went on record since Lord Healy over a decade ago

Let me try and clarify. Thousands gathered together in opposition and created an energy vortex which is emanating out into the matrix and coalescing with the collective consciousness. This energy will be co-opted by the elite if it is not husbanded and held within it's intention.

The Alex Jones BBC interview, in my opinion, served more to dissipate this wonderful energy, rather than amplify it and increase it. This is the part most people don't understand.

Of course I want to see the energy build and expand, but if we are not careful, it get's co-opted and dissipated. The Jury is still out on this one before we see how this manifests in the near future.

I'm hopeful. Yes, mainstream exposure of the Bilderbergers is a good thing. How we treat it after the fact is even more important if we want to see long term change and more awakening. Making Alex Jones out to be a raving lunatic does not engender the 85% who do not pay attention, who have the potential to add their energy to the intention.

If their energy is added by: Boy, what a crazy lunatic, lets go get some hot dogs and beer and go watch football, then the energy is wasted, dissipated, and does not increase consciousness.

Today’s Bilderberg coverage which was streamed live on the Guerilla Media Network, saw the UK’s Liberty Tactics team reveal from reports on the ground in Watford that both Hillary Clinton and her husband, former US President Bill Clinton, were spotted entering Bilderberg’s Grove Hotel today, along with luminaries David Rockefeller and Henry Kissenger.

Both the jet-setting Clintons were also present at Kissenger’s 90th birthday party this past Monday night in New York City.

The lens caps are back on for another year. The satellite trucks have trundled off, the police patrols have melted away and the security fence has been forklifted off. Bilderberg has left the building and finally the residents of Old Hempstead Road are getting their verge back.

No one who witnessed it will soon forget Bilderberg Watford. Or "Hertfordshire 2013" as the official security lanyards call it, coyly. (The organisers clearly couldn't quite bring themselves to embrace the name Watford – it hasn't got that blue-chip, billionaire ring to it.)

"Hertfordshire 2013" went out with a bang, not a whimper, as talkshow host Alex Jones exploded on Sunday Politics, and Ken Clarke found himself answering questions in parliament. Issues of security funding, lobbying registers and undeclared interests remain, but they will be picked apart in the weeks to come. For now, it's time for Watford to reflect on what just happened.

"I wouldn't join 'em, even if they asked me," said Jack Ruck, an 87-year-old RAF veteran. Jack stared up at the luxury Grove Hotel. "200 quid a night? I'd rather sleep in my car." Jack felt a genuine pang of sorrow for the Bilderberg delegates, spending so long conferencing in their five-star gulag. "What do they want out of life?" he wondered. "I think they'd have been happier round my back garden having a barbecue."

Of all the politicians and policymakers at Bilderberg this year, the happiest, without a doubt, was none of the delegates. It was Michael Meacher. He had such a rewarding time in the press zone on Thursday – "the most fun I've had in the last 20 years of politics" – that he came back towards the end of the conference to deliver a barnstorming speech at the Bilderberg Fringe.

A grey and dapper fireball of righteous indignation, Meacher energised the crowds, railing mightily against the failure of democracy that the conference represents. He pointed out the irony that that while people were demanding more transparency from those in power, the public themselves have never been more transparent to the powers that be, with every email, text and private message visible to GCHQ & co.

The crowd whooped and roared, the sun blazed and the years fell away from Meacher. He hopped off the platform like a young firebrand, and was mobbed by grateful campaigners. "This moment is historical," smiled Basílio Martins, a journalist from Portugal. "People need to know about Bilderberg, and now they start to know."

At the weekend, the press zone inside the hotel grounds morphed into a public zone, and the crowds were astonishing. Two thousand people inside the paddock – that's up from barely a dozen in 2009. A huge queue of people zig-zagged up and down Grove Mill Lane; it's estimated that another 2,000 were turned away. So, more people were turned away from Bilderberg 2013 than had shown up to all previous Bilderberg conferences put together. If that's not a sign of the times, I don't know what is.

But the biggest change has been in the coverage. Finally, after 59 years, Bilderberg has beeped its way onto the radar of the mainstream press. Basílio showed me photocopies of some Portuguese papers. He translated from the Diário Económico: "They get together to define the political agenda of the world." Portugal's main opposition leader, António José Seguro, was confronted by journalists on live television, and asked about Bilderberg. "He was very angry, he turned his face and said he would not answer."

David Cameron is likely to face questions from journalists about the visit he paid to Bilderberg on Friday. But he'll be fine about that, as Downing Street declared: "The Prime Minister has always been clear about the importance of transparency."

Tamsin Cave of the Alliance for Lobbying Transparency is sceptical. "The Prime Minister is a public servant. His job is to represent the public interest. When he is meeting with this elite group of business leaders whose interest is he really serving?"

One pro-transparency campaigner has had enough: "For too long, those in power made decisions behind closed doors, released information behind a veil of jargon and denied people the power to hold them to account."

This particular critic of closed-doors government is a certain David Cameron, speaking shortly after taking office. "This coalition is driving a wrecking ball through that culture," he said, "and it's called transparency."

Cameron wasn't the only one swinging the wrecking-ball of transparency inside this year's Bilderberg. He was joined on the end of the chain by Jessica Mathews, who sits on the advisory council of Transparency International, and James Wolfensohn, who's on the advisory council of Transparency International USA. Together, I'm sure, they were lobbying hard to open up this last bastion of murky politicking to the sunlight. If they could find the time between seminars.

No time for slacking off and lolling about on the lawns. These oil company bosses and billionaire venture capitalists have got "Africa's challenges" to sort out, and all that "big data" to divvy up. That's why, as Bilderberg's brand new "media contact" told me, the conference food is "buffet only, all days, all meals". You don't align this many diaries to waste time on banqueting. A scoop of coronation chicken and a bread roll, then it's back to the coalface.

"Aye, they're hard at work up there," said Jamie Hughes, who drove seven straight hours from Kilmarnock to see the event for himself. "They've got deals to sign, the world to globalise – it always gets me how busy they are."

Jamie is impressed by their industry, if not their candour. "Our politicians have lied to us for years. At first it makes you depressed, then it makes you angry." Is that why you're here, I asked him, because you're angry? "I'm here because I don't trust them."

Trust and loo rolls, two things that were in short supply in Watford this week. Up behind the security fence, politicians and prime ministers skulked around with billionaire industrialists and media moguls at the world's biggest private corporate lobbying jolly, while down in the Bilderberg press paddock it was so busy that the portaloo roll-holders ran low. Over by the hedge, the Hare Krishnas did a roaring trade with their free vegetable curries. A connection? I prefer not to speculate.

The free food and glorious sunshine kept the mood light, and the only time you saw a policeman with arms around a protester was for a souvenir photo. Inspector Moss of Herts Constabulary spent days pedalling around the venue, keeping an eye on the crowds. He hopped off long enough to give his verdict. "It's been very peaceable, no issues. Everyone's been friendly, polite."

Dutch journalist Jurriaan Maessen agrees. "It's a great atmosphere on the ground, beautiful people, very dynamic. I have beautiful feelings about it," he says. "There are all kinds of people here. Different opinions. It is not monolithic."

Maessen is covering "Hertfordshire 2013" for explosivereports.com. Half a mile away, his prime minister was closeted with the head of Google, the chief executive of Royal Dutch Shell and the chairman of Lazard International (otherwise known as Lord Mandelson).

"I feel a kind of moral indignation," Maessen says. "I pay taxes, so I want to know what my elected officials are talking about. That's how I'd like my politics to be. It is time for Bilderberg to make a choice: either it's private, you hold a nice little party, but you don't let the police secure your event, you pay all the costs, and it's a nice little talking shop between friends. Or it's not private."

As to what they're discussing, "perhaps they are sitting around saying beautiful things. A bunch of enlightened souls sitting together."

Maessen smiles at the thought. "I doubt it though."
