Afghanistan's drugs trade is flourishing - despite the eleven years that have passed
since the U.S. kicked off its Operation Enduring Freedom. Even with the Taliban forced
from power, the illicit industry's still killing thousands of people around the world. Maria
Finoshina examines the deadly multi-million-dollar trend, which shows no signs of
slowing down.

The military is expert at going into countries and taking over the drug trade. They did it in Veitnam as well, taking the drugs back to the US in the bottom of hollowed out caskets. Makes one wonder if that's why the government didn't want the caskets of the dead being filmed coming back from Iraq & Afghanistan? It wouldn't be good for anyone to notice anything suspicious.

If they legalise drugs they will not be able to make vast profits for black
projects, bribes etc. It would come under the normal tax legislation which would still
be a lot of money for the treasury, but would have to be audited and accounted for.
Which must be better all round I would have thought.
