Queen - We Will Rock You (Hollywood Records Remix 1991)

From Rick Rubin: Queen had got their masters back from the record company. They weren't available for a little while, so they wanted to re-release them, and they wanted to do remixes to go on each of the albums. They reached out to different people that they thought could do something interesting. I remember thinking, "Wow." "We Will Rock You" is, like, this is a perfect record. I always had a weird feeling about remixes. We put so much time and effort into making the record that a remix seemed to be tainting what was good about the record. That was my thought then. I loved Queen, so when they asked me, I thought, "Well, there's no way I could make it better than theirs. It's perfect as it is." So the idea was to go the other way, and not try to make it great, but try to make it ridiculous and try to ruin it. On the real record, it breaks into a jam at the end and it seems so surreal. So because they'd sent all the multi-tracks, at the end of the remix, I played the solo from "Tie Your Mother Down" backwards. The credit that I took on it was "Ruined by Rick Rubin," for that reason. I was thinking, "What are the more surreal, bizarre choices I could make to play up the point that we're not supposed to be remixing classic songs?" The message of it was, "Don't do this."

Johnny Cash - Hurt

From "Johnny and I would make collections of songs as possible covers for him to sing, and we'd send them to each other. "Hurt" was one that I sent. There were maybe 20 songs including that one on the mix I made, and it wasn't one that he responded to. But I had a strong feeling about it, so on the next compilation, I included that one again. Because of the way the Nine Inch Nails song sounds, I think it was hard for him to hear it. So I sent him the lyrics, and I said, "Just read the lyrics. If you like the lyrics, then we'll find a way to do it that will suit you."

He listened to it with the lyrics sheet and said, "If you feel strongly about this, we can try it." We recorded at my house in Los Angeles. We built all of it from scratch. It's an acoustic song, so it was recorded as a smaller acoustic song than it ended up becoming, and through overdubs, we built all the drama that's in the song to support the power of the words and the way Johnny was delivering them.

He was at a time where his health was failing, and I tried to pick songs that made sense lyrically for the way his voice was sounding. There were times when his voice sounded broken. He tried to turn that into a positive in the selection of the music. He was awfully troubled by the way his voice was sounding. A lot of times during the process, he would be down on himself. He could always rely on his voice, and at this stage he couldn't. It was a real struggle for him. But then, when we put everything together and it was done, he would love it.

This is another song where I can't think of the song without seeing the video. The first time I saw it, I just cried. It really upset me. It's a really beautiful piece of art and I'm proud of him for letting people see it. When his management first saw they were like, "Nobody can ever see this." And it was really Rosanne [Cash], his daughter, that made the case to Johnny that, "You're an artist — this is what you do, and you have to show this." He was like, "You're right." He agreed. And the video came out. She was the one."

Lovelorn elephant smashes cars after getting dumped

It’s never easy getting rejected just before Valentine’s Day, but it’s harder to swipe your frustrations away on Tinder or drown your sorrows in a bottle of whiskey when you’re an elephant – which, presumably, is why this dumped Dumbo took it out on a street full of cars.

After losing a potential mate to another male, this wild elephant in China released some tension through a bit of stampy stampy, smashy smashy.

Officials from Xishuangbanna said the male elephant wandered out of a nature reserve on Friday after being rejected, probably so his friends wouldn’t see him hit rock bottom.

After about 20 minutes of “playing” with cars, he eventually realized he didn’t like her that much anyway, was probably better off single anyway, and returned to the reserve.

No people were hurt in the rampage, except for the pachyderm’s big broken heart, which should mend after a good night on the town with some mates.

A total of 15 cars were damaged, but not to worry, as the government said they will cover all repairs for those who don’t have an “emotionally fragile elephant rampage” clause in their insurance policy.

The Saudi, Russian, Qatari and Venezuelan oil ministers announced the proposal after a previously undisclosed meeting in Doha. It could become the first joint OPEC and non-OPEC deal in 15 years, aimed at tackling a growing oversupply of crude and helping prices recover from their lowest in over a decade.

Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said freezing production at January levels - near record highs - was an adequate measure and he hoped other producers would adopt the plan. Venezuelan Oil Minister Eulogio Del Pino said more talks would take place with Iran and Iraq on Wednesday in Tehran.

"The reason we agreed to a potential freeze of production is simple: it is the beginning of a process which we will assess in the next few months and decide if we need other steps to stabilize and improve the market," Naimi told reporters.

"We don't want significant gyrations in prices, we don't want reduction in supply, we want to meet demand, we want a stable oil price. We have to take a step at a time," he said.

Oil prices <LCOc1> jumped to $35.55 per barrel after the news about the secret meeting but later pared gains to trade near $33 on concerns that Iran may reject the deal and that even if Tehran agreed it would not help ease the growing global glut. [O/R]

OPEC member Iran, Saudi Arabia's regional arch rival, has pledged to steeply increase output in the coming months as it looks to regain market share lost after years of international sanctions, which were lifted in January following a deal with world powers over its nuclear program.

"Our situation is totally different to those countries that have been producing at high levels for the past few years," a senior source familiar with Iran's thinking told Reuters.

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh also indicated Tehran would not agree to freezing its output at January levels, saying the country would not give up its appropriate share of the global oil market.

A Pair Of What Appears To Be Triangles With Round Balls In The Center

I shot this video within one mile of my home on the night of February 19, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I set my night vision camera up and aimed it towards the Blue Diamond area because there is allegedly an underground saucer base there and let the camera run for thirty minutes. This was the only interesting footage I pulled from the thirty-minute video. As many times as I look at it, I keep seeing two triangles with what looks like and orb or ball in the center of them. I am eager to hear what others see.

Her research has involved testing materials, including complex-material systems, in the area of photomechanics, or the use of optical and image-analysis methods to determine physical properties of materials and measure how materials respond to forces placed on them. Her area of expertise involves interferometry in forensic science. She taught graduate and undergraduate engineering classes and has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed papers and journal publications in her areas of expertise.

In the time since 9/11/01, she has applied her expertise in materials science, image analysis and interferometry, to a forensic study of over 40,000 images, hundreds of video clips, a large volume of witness testimony, analyses of dust samples, seismic data, and the analysis of other environmental evidence pertaining to the destruction of the World Trade Center complex. Dr. Wood has conducted a comprehensive forensic investigation of what physically happened to the World Trade Center site on 9/11. And, based on her analysis of the evidence she gathered, in 2007, she filed a federal Qui Tam case for science fraud against the contractors who contributed to the official National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report about the destruction of the World Trade Center towers. This case was filed in the US Supreme Court in Dec 2009. To this day, Dr. Wood's investigation and body of evidence as compiled in her book is the only comprehensive forensic investigation in the public domain. Coming Financial Crisis/ Reality, Illusion, & Control

In the first half, the author of The Coming Financial Crisis, John Truman Wolfe, discussed the state of the US and world economies and why he thinks the events of 2007 and 2008 were a prelude for more economic disaster. The next crisis, he predicts, will take the "bail-ins" used in the economic meltdowns in Cyprus and Greece and apply them worldwide, leaving depositors and consumers holding the bag, yet again. "Bail-ins" were set up by the Dodd-Frank Act as an alternative to the bank bailouts, but they end up protecting derivatives, and allowing troubled banks to be restored by unsecured creditors, he outlined.

The Federal Reserve is like the "Emperor's New Clothes," just creating money out of nothing by entering amounts in a bank account, and then using these funds to buy bonds and treasury debt, which the government pays them interest on, he explained. There seems to be a big push to eliminate cash, and make all money digital, he cited. Wolfe recommends keeping some cash out of the banks, as well as investing in precious metals-- he does not believe this is a good time to be in the stock market.

In the latter half, David Icke, a full-time investigator into who and what is really controlling the world, shared his never ending quest for truth. He detailed his life-changing exposure of the illusion we believe to be 'real,' and the way this illusion is generated and manipulated to imprison us in a false reality. The "program" starts in your formative years, with your parents passing on their perceptions, as well as authority figures at school, and this programming that is passed on to you becomes your "phantom self," he said.

His concept of "Transphantomism" refers to a coming phase of transhumanism being used as a way to disconnect the populace even further than their phantom selves. "The idea is to get technology inside...the body/brain and through that technology connect five-sense perception not to infinite reality but to the cloud," Icke warned, citing how Ray Kurzweil has predicted that humans will have hybrid cloud-powered brains by 2030. "What they're doing is assimilating us into a technological sub-reality," Icke continued. The next few years are absolutely crucial for humanity to awaken to what's really going on around us, so we can do something about it, he added. Toward that end, Icke will be conducting a Worldwide Wake Up Tour in 2016 and 2017, beginning this June in London.

A Brilliant Physicist Explains Gravitational Waves to Colbert

Theoretical physicist Brian Greene, who’s also known for books such as The Elegant Universe where he explains concepts like string theory in layman’s terms, was on the show last night to give Stephen a crash course on not only why gravitational waves are important, but also how they were discovered.

Greene even goes so far as to break out a really neat experiment involving green lasers that replicates how the LIGO observatory works, but on a much simpler and smaller scale. If at the end of this clip you still can’t wrap your head around gravitational waves, it’s probably best to just leave that research to the professionals.

Richard Francis Burton was a Victorian explorer, linguist, spy, loner, and scientist. Walter Bosley’s new book (Secret Missions 2: The Lost Expedition Of Sir Richard Francis Burton) speculates that he was secretly tasked to find lost civilizations. We discussed his early life and background, including Walter’s suspicion that he was involved with a secret society at Oxford University in the 1840s. This group supposedly wanted to find out about ancient civilizations to see if they had esoteric knowledge and perhaps ancient technology. Burton worked for the British East India Co. which was essentially a 19th century Wackenhut – a private company with almost sovereign government powers.

Burton visited the US in 1860 and went to Salt Lake City to visit Mormon leader Brigham Young. Walter says that Burton believed the Mormons knew something about the esoteric history of the US and perhaps beyond.

Burton, who documented his travels in minute detail, somehow did not describe one particularly compelling period when he was traveling though the jungles of Brazil in 1868. Walter’s theory is that he was there to look for a lost city described in documents which Burton published himself in his account of the time. We also discussed the strange miles-long prehistoric tunnels of Brazil, which researcher/writer David Childress explored years ago.

Concluding, Walter says that he writes about what resonates personally with him. In this case, he saw a kindred spirit in Burton and his intelligence activities, since Walter is a former government intel employee (FBI and Air Force).

special districts are a form of "one purpose government" like a fire department, or water collection, or mosquito abatement (apparently). They have little to no over site and often are voted in by very small groups of people (sometimes as few as 2) and have no way of being dissolved via governmental process. It's estimated that special districts spend around 100 billion a year in the US.

Patagonian Penguin Finds Second Home in Brazil

"It’s the story of a South American Magellanic penguin who swims 5,000 miles each year to be reunited with the man who saved his life.

Retired bricklayer and part time fisherman Joao Pereira de Souza, 71, who lives in an island village just outside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, found the tiny penguin, covered in oil and close to death, lying on rocks on his local beach in 2011.

Joao cleaned the oil off the penguin’s feathers and fed him a daily diet of fish to build his strength. He named him Dindim.

After a week, he tried to release the penguin back into the sea. But, the bird wouldn’t leave. ‘He stayed with me for 11 months and then, just after he changed his coat with new feathers, he disappeared,’ Joao recalls.

And, just a few months later, Dindim was back. He spotted the fisherman on the beach one day and followed him home.

For the past five years, Dindim has spent eight months of the year with Joao and is believed to spend the rest of the time breeding off the coast of Argentina and Chile.

It’s thought he swims up to 5,000 miles each year to be reunited with the man who saved his life.

‘I love the penguin like it’s my own child and I believe the penguin loves me,’ Joao told Globo TV. ‘No one else is allowed to touch him. He pecks them if they do. He lays on my lap, lets me give him showers, allows me to feed him sardines and to pick him up.

Biologist Professor Krajewski, who interviewed the fisherman for Globo TV, told The Independent: ‘I have never seen anything like this before. I think the penguin believes Joao is part of his family and probably a penguin as well.

‘When he sees him he wags his tail like a dog and honks with delight.

And, just like that, the world seems a kinder place again.

Former RT head Mikhail Lesin died of “blunt force injuries of the head,” according to an autopsy report from the DC medical examiner’s office, which found that he also suffered from “blunt force injuries of the neck, torso, upper extremities, lower extremities.” The exact manner of death was undetermined. The report contradicts initial claims that the 59-year-old had died of a “heart stroke,” fueling speculation that his murder was ordered by Russia because he had turned FBI informer. "RALEIGH, NC—In what many political observers are calling a new low in an election season that has already seen its share of negative campaigning, a scathing anti–Ted Cruz attack ad airing this week reportedly shows nothing more than a still photograph of the Texas senator’s face for 30 seconds, unaccompanied by any text, voiceover, or music.

The pointed TV spot—which continues on in complete silence and does not pan across or zoom in on the candidate’s face, but merely holds steady on the image for half a minute before fading to black—is said to be running in several states with upcoming primaries and is paid for by a super PAC opposed to Cruz’s presidential bid.

“This is an extremely vicious jab at Ted Cruz, and one that succeeds in painting the candidate in a most unfavorable light,” said Douglas Reisenthaler, a senior analyst with Public Policy Polling, who described the ad as by far the most unrelenting and hostile attack to air since the 2016 election cycle began. “Inevitably, some voters will be turned off by the maliciousness of showing an unretouched headshot of Ted Cruz on television screens across America, but it has nonetheless proved very effective in turning public opinion against his candidacy.”

He added, “Everywhere this ad has aired, Cruz’s numbers have gone into complete free-fall.”

The Cruz campaign has been vocal in its criticism of what it describes as an underhanded smear tactic, with spokeswoman Alice Stewart saying the televised photo not only crosses the line, but is also difficult to watch. While admitting some amount of mudslinging is to be expected in a competitive race at the national level, she called airing a static image of Cruz’s bare countenance without interruption for the full duration of an ad “sick” and “truly repulsive.”

A representative from the organization responsible for the commercial, Believe in Liberty PAC, defended its actions, noting that while attack ads often digitally alter photographs to make a candidate appear more unflattering or even menacing, the picture it used of the 45-year-old presidential hopeful was completely undoctored and thus did not misrepresent or mislead in any way. Regardless, many viewers told reporters they found the anti-Cruz commercial inexcusable.

“It’s absolutely revolting, and I can’t believe they would run something like that on television,” said Dorothy Chalmers, a Dillsboro, NC mother who saw the ad with her three small children. “I immediately turned it off, of course, but I had to talk with my kids about what we had just seen. It was so nasty and unpleasant, my youngest one started to cry. Is this the kind of low-blow campaigning we can expect to endure through November?”

“After watching the ad, though, I definitely won’t be voting for Ted Cruz,” she continued. “How could you after seeing that?”

Cougar Release

Video shows intense release of large cougar from trap in southern Utah

"PINE VALLEY, Washington County — The intense moments of a large cougar being released from a bobcat trap were caught on video, and the Division of Wildlife Resources employee talked about the unique experience.

DWR conservation officer Mark Ekins said he often responds to help trappers release cougars, which are accidentally caught in traps meant for coyotes or bobcats. Ekins said it is illegal to intentionally trap a cougar in Utah, and so when trappers discover a mountain lion in their trap, they are legally required to release the animal and report it to DWR officials within 48 hours.

While many of the large cougars are able to pull out of the traps and can free themselves, sometimes help is required to safely release the animal. Ekins said they prefer to use animal tranquilizer darts when possible, but that tranquilizers have to be kept in a main DWR office and he can't always get some when he is called to remote areas.

Ekins said it is fine for trappers to release the cougars themselves if they feel comfortable and can do so safely, but they must still report it to officials. He recommended that people contact DWR conservation officers for help in releasing any animal if they feel uneasy about doing it.

"It could be a potential dangerous situation," Ekins said. "Anytime they feel uncomfortable at all, we'd definitely rather them call us and allow us to help them rather than take a chance of injuring an animal."

Ekins said he responded to a call to help release a cougar in the Pine Valley Mountains Dec. 17. He said it was one of the largest cougars he has ever had to release from a trap, and so he decided to film the incident.

"Anytime we do something that the public doesn't see all the time, I will video some of it," he said.

Ekins and the trapper used several catch poles on the cougar's head and back foot to get it to lie down and stretch out so they could release its front foot from the trap. The 6-minute video shows the intense scenario, but the cougar was eventually released and ran off after resting for a moment. Ekins said releasing a large animal is always slightly nerve-wracking.

"If I wasn't nervous or started to lack respect for the power of that animal, it could potentially be very dangerous," he said. "I'm nervous and I'm extremely careful when doing it. … I've probably only done three in my career that were as big as the one you saw. That was a really big one."

Ekins said the traps are designed so they don't harm the animals, but sometimes the animal's skin is broken during the struggle. The cougar had minor bleeding on its front paw after it was released. Most of the cougars are accidentally captured during the three-month bobcat trapping season, which typically runs from December to February."

First half guest Bryan Sykes joined Dave Schrader (email) to discuss his DNA research on samples of alleged hair from Bigfoot. Sykes is a professor of human genetics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Wolfson College in the UK. He began by pointing out that homo sapiens were "not the only human species" to have lived on this planet, and that there is a chance that there are still isolated members of the human family living (or hiding) in remote areas of the world. Sykes says that some of his colleagues (including some senior scientists) have supported his research because they believe that Bigfoot is a mystery that can be addressed by science.

Sykes asked researchers and Bigfoot hunters from around the world to send him hair samples for DNA testing. Each DNA test costs about $1,500. Semi-humorously, Sykes stated that the three main questions facing lab researchers of Bigfoot are "1- Does it exist? 2 – What is it? and 3 – Who's paying?" He conducted a number of tests and then published his findings in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, which he said was the first time that this has been accomplished. Sykes also spoke about his visits to the U.S. to talk to researchers and witnesses. The ones that made the most favorable impression on him were regular people who were genuinely perplexed about what they had seen. He also told the story of visiting the northwestern U.S. with a researcher who stomped on the ground and received an answer of three knocks, apparently coming from inside a tree which she claimed was the home of a Sasquatch. During the call-in segment, many listeners described their fascinating Bigfoot encounters. After the segment, Sykes provided a link to an article that examines his current work with the Russian "ape woman" Zana.

Appearing on the program for the second two hours was Andrew Colvin, a paranormal researcher and publisher of reprints of books about UFOs and other strange phenomena. He calls his work "curated fringe" publishing. Colvin said that he grew up in a rural area and "really felt like a forest child." He experienced many strange episodes and phenomena in his childhood and didn't realize that they were unusual until be left his small town. He claims he was seven years old when he had his first entity encounter with something unidentified flying over him. As he grew older he says he began to camp out and developed a "psychic connection to nature." Later in life, he feels that he developed a mental relationship with the entity known as "mothman" since he grew up in the same area as the famous sightings in the 1960s.

Colvin's latest reprint is from an original book by famed UFO researcher Gray Barker, who was active from the 1950s to the late 1980s. Barker began as a serious researcher of the phenomenon, but later realized that definitive answers were hard to come by, and became more circumspect and even humorous in his approach. He is probably best known for his 1956 book "They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers." During the program, Colvin read some of the more unusual stories recounted in the new reprint, many having to do with Bigfoot witnesses who shot at the creatures, with no apparent ill effects or even blood, in most cases. Colvin said that those interested in the paranormal should keep the subject "at arm's length," but remain open to indirect revelations and synchronicities.

This drone can paint your house better than you can

"A drone can probably paint your house better than you do — and it won't end up falling off the ladder.

Florida-based startup Apellix developed a prototype unmanned aerial system that can potentially paint homes or ships, apply chemicals, or pressure wash windows. It's called the "Worker Bee."

Company founder Robert Dahlstrom presented the pitch for his drone on Friday at an event for Starburst Accelerator in El Segundo, California, hoping to find partners who could potentially use the technology.

"Drones can do more than gather data, take pictures, and deliver packages," Dahlstrom said. "They can do real work."

For its prototype, Apellix flies a quad-copter connected to a base station and paint materials via an umbilical cord and tether. The small drone can then paint evenly on a surface, opening a large opportunity for industrial painting of skyscrapers or ships in dry dock — which normally requires about four days and 30 people setting up scaffolding before they get started.

Apellix wants the drone to take over, which removes the need for scaffolding. And it's also focused on worker safety, since at least 95 climbers working on cell or other towers have died since 2004. "We develop technologies to keep workers safe," said Dahlstrom.

It's a unique new use case for drones, which most associate with military intelligence and targeting operations. The unmanned aircraft are increasingly being used in farming, emergency search and rescue, and overseeing construction. A 2013 report says the civilian drone industry could generate upwards of $82 billion over the next decade.

Currently, the Worker Bee is a pre-production model that can only paint small buildings up to three stories, Dahlstrom told Tech Insider. But now that the drone has a patent pending, he said, the company has emerged out of stealth mode and plans to offer it as a "platform as a service," where clients can rent the drone for about $25 an hour.

Besides painting buildings, there are other potential uses: The drones can be used to de-ice airplanes, or to fumigate ships, both of which are tasks that would keep humans from breathing in toxic chemicals. Dahlstrom also said it'd be ideal for coating above ground storage tanks, power transmission and telecommunication towers, and bridges.

Nobody cares how well a politician does at the ballot box when he or she is running for an office unopposed. What matters is how a politician performs in contested primaries and general elections, as when it really matters — like it will, for instance, this November — you can be certain of a contested election.

With that said, let’s make an important observation: Bernie Sanders has tied or beaten Hillary Clinton in a majority of the actively contested votes this election season.

You doubt it? Okay, let me explain.

Bernie Sanders has terrible name recognition in states where he hasn’t advertised or campaigned yet; meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has universal name recognition everywhere. Realizing this, the Clinton camp pushed hard to rack up the early vote in every state where early voting was an option. They did this not primarily for the reason we’ve been told — because Clinton performs well among older voters, and older voters are more likely to vote early than other age demographics — but rather because they knew that early votes are almost always cast before the election season actually begins in a given state.

That’s right — in each state, most of the early primary voting occurs before the candidates have aired any commercials or held any campaign events. For Bernie Sanders, this means that early voting happens, pretty much everywhere, before anyone knows who he is. Certainly, early voting occurs in each state before voters have developed a sufficient level of familiarity and comfort with Sanders to vote for him.

But on Election Day — among voters who’ve been present and attentive for each candidate’s commercials, local news coverage, and live events — Sanders tends to tie or beat Clinton.

In fact, that’s the real reason Sanders does well in caucuses.

It’s not because caucuses “require a real time investment,” as the media likes to euphemistically say, but because caucuses require that you vote on Election Day rather than well before it.

Consider: in North Carolina, Hillary Clinton only won Election Day voting 52% to 48%. Given the shenanigans in evidence during the live voting there — thousands of college students were turned away from the polls due to insufficient identification under a new voter-suppression statute in the state — it wouldn’t be unfair to call that 4-point race more like a 2-point one (51% to 49% for Clinton).

Consider: on Super Tuesday 3, because early voting is always reported first, Clinton’s margins of victory were originally believed to be 25 points in Missouri, 30 points in Illinois, and 30 points in Ohio. Missouri, which doesn’t have conventional early voting, ended up a tie. Illinois ended up with a 1.8% margin for Clinton (after being a 42-point race in Clinton’s favor just a week earlier) and Ohio a 13.8% margin.

Any one of us could do the math there. And yet the media never did.

Consider: in Arizona yesterday, the election was called almost immediately by the media, with Clinton appearing to “win” the state by a margin of 61.5% to 36.1%. Of course, this was all early voting. CNN even wrongly reported that these early votes constituted the live vote in 41% of all Arizona precincts — rather than merely mail-in votes constituting a percentage of the total projected vote in the state — which allowed most Americans to go to bed believing both that Clinton had won Arizona by more than 25 points and that that margin was the result of nearly half of Arizona’s precincts reporting their live-voting results. Neither was true.

In fact, as of the time of that 61.5% to 36.1% “win,” not a single precinct in Arizona had reported its Election Day results.

Indeed, more than two and a half hours after polls closed in Arizona, officials there had counted only 54,000 of the estimated 431,000 Election Day ballots.

That’s about 12%.

So how did Bernie Sanders do on Election Day in Arizona?

As of the writing of this essay (2:45 AM ET), Sanders was leading Clinton in Election Day voting in Arizona 50.2% to 49.8%, with just under 75,000 votes (about 17.3% of all Election Day votes) counted.

So imagine, for a moment, that early votes were reported to the media last rather than first. Which, of course, they quite easily could be, given that they’re less — rather than more — reflective of the actual state of opinion on Election Day. Were early votes reported last rather than first, Arizona as of 2:45 AM ET would have been considered not only too close to call but a genuine nail-biter. In fact, only 400 or so Election Day votes were separating the two Democratic candidates at that point — though the momentum with each new vote counted was quite clearly in Sanders’ favor.

So the question becomes, why does any of this matter? Does the point being made here — that Bernie Sanders is as or more popular than Hillary in both all the states he won and many of the states he didn’t — gain Sanders a single delegate? Does it move him one inch closer to being President?

No.

What it does do is explain why the Clinton-Sanders race is a 5-point race nationally — just a hair from being a statistical tie, given the margin of error — despite the media treating Clinton’s nomination as a foregone conclusion.

What it does do is explain how Clinton is “beating” Sanders among American voters despite having a -13 favorability rating nationally, as compared to Sanders’ +11 rating. That dramatic difference is possible because in favorability polling, pollsters only count voters who say they know enough about a candidate to form an opinion. That eliminates the sort of “early voters” who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton before having much of a handle on who Bernie Sanders is.

And what it does do is explain why Sanders outperforms Clinton against Donald Trump in nearly every state where head-to-head general-election polling data is available. While some of this is undoubtedly due to the fact that Sanders beats Clinton by between 30 and 40 points among Independents — itself a major warning sign for a Clinton candidacy this fall — the rest is explained by the fact that when voters come to know Bernie Sanders as well as they already know Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, they tend to prefer him to these two by clear margins.

The Hillary camp, and Hillary supporters, are justly excited about how their candidate is performing in the delegate horse-race. The problem is that that excitement is quickly becoming the sort of arrogance that will in fact endanger Hillary’s candidacy for President. Both she and her team — including all her millions of supporters — should consider the fact that Hillary does not, outside the deep-red Deep South, do particularly well among voters when they’re given any other reasonable alternative. The fact that early voting statutes and media reporting of elections in America favors the maintenance of the illusion that Hillary remains popular when voters become familiar with other credible options does not excuse ignorance of the reality; certainly, it won’t help Democrats in November.

And given that a demagogue like Donald Trump is the likely Republican nominee, that’s a scary thought for many Americans. Sanders voters should want — and most do want — a Clinton campaign that understands its weaknesses sufficiently to ameliorate them in a general election, should Clinton be the Democratic nominee. Right now that’s clearly not happening, and the national media is unfortunately enabling the persistence and expansion of these troubling blind-spots.

Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about super-delegates. These are folks who are supposed to be supporting whichever candidate has the best chance of winning in November. We already know, per head-to-head general-election polling, that the better candidate to run against Donald Trump is Bernie Sanders; however, many super-delegates (and most of the media) dismiss general election polling this early on, even though Sanders’ commanding lead over Trump is clearly statistically relevant. (This is especially true given that his name recognition lags well behind Trump’s.)

But what about the argument, implicitly being made to super-delegates now, and likely to be made to them explicitly in Philadelphia this summer, that Bernie Sanders has, broadly speaking, out-performed Hillary Clinton in Election Day voting? Given that Election Day voting in the spring is the very same sort of high-information voting that will occur in November, you’d think super-delegates would be quite interested to know that, in live voting, Bernie Sanders beats Hillary Clinton more often than not.

In the first half, biochemist and nutritionist Ted Broer spoke about an array of topics including secretive technology such as scalar waves, how transhumanism will turn humans into "bio-robots," and new studies on Morgellon's disease and a possible relationship to chemtrails. He tested rainwater samples from a lake in central Florida and found high levels of barium and aluminum, which he believes are added to the atmosphere via chemtrails. The aluminum could account for the increase of Alzheimer's that's been seen in recent years, he said. Broer also indicated that the chemtrail spray contains "biologicals"-- specifically a cross-domain species of plant-fungus-insect that he believes is responsible for Morgellon's.

The Tunguska explosion of 1908 may have actually been caused by an experiment by Tesla involving scalar waves from his Wardenclyff Tower, Broer postulated. Today, scalar fields can be produced by Project HAARP-type technologies which use phased arrays, that could for example, trigger earthquakes, he suggested. "What's interesting about the scalar waves is that they go through time-space...and have no time or distance variable. In other words, if you transmit a scalar wave right now from this planet to one a thousand light years away, it's there instantaneously," he marveled, adding that our prayers and thoughts can work similarly to scalar waves.

In the latter half, professor, author and Judaica scholar Ken Hanson discussed Easter, Passover, and the model for a 6,000 year cycle of apocalypse. He covered why we could be on the verge of a new apocalypse, how the message of Jesus plays into the scenario, and what we can do to stall or change the outcome of the current cycle. Civilizations from the past as well as today seem to be obsessed with the idea of the end, which he views as an ongoing cultural or religious archetype. Interestingly, according to ancient Jewish writings, there are two messiahs-- one is the son of Joseph, a suffering messiah where it's as if the whole universe must go through much travail to reach a new age, while the other messiah is the son of David, who can bring the world into a new glory without suffering and birth pangs, he detailed.

Hanson believes what happens in Israel, and specifically Jerusalem, is crucial to how human fate plays out. He expressed concern over possible plans to divide Jerusalem between Jewish and Arab sections, which he thinks could be a recipe for disaster. Regarding the dire prophecies in the Book of Revelation, 90% of them already had fulfillment in the first century, but we should be vigilant lest they repeat themselves, he noted. "I think we need to be united in the sense of Christians and Jews standing together against these forces [such as ISIS] that would seek literally a civilizational conflict to would bring us back to the 7th century, or worse," he added.

Guest host Jimmy Church welcomed filmmaker and hermetic scholar Jay Weidner for a discussion on his research into alchemy and the Cross of Hendaye—a strange cross located in a churchyard in the small southwestern coastal town of Hendaye, France. Built by a mysterious master alchemist over 350 years ago, some claim the cross holds the secrets of the universe.

Weidner disclosed how finding a book, The Mystery of the Cathedrals by an enigmatic author called "Fulcanelli," helped shape his current worldview on the reality of alchemy. In the book, Fulcanelli proposes the gothic cathedrals of Europe were built by a secret society attempting to change the psychic landscape of the continent, Weidner reported. "According to the alchemical lore, [these cathedrals] would draw down this kind of invisible etheric energy that transmutes the landscape and changes the way that the people look at the world," he said, noting how the construction of cathedrals moved Europe out of the Dark Ages into the Renaissance period.

Fulcanelli was tasked by a benevolent clandestine cabal to write his book, which demonstrates alchemy is a real science that holds the secrets to extending life, Weidner continued. There are people living today who have been alive for centuries, he added. According to Weidner, the body is run on electricity, not calories, and the amount of current flowing through the pineal gland is directly related to longevity. He pointed to a study found in the book Melatonin Miracle which demonstrates the relationship of the pineal gland to long life in rats. Alchemists have found a way to reverse the ravages of calcification on the pineal gland and, in turn, reverse the aging process, Weidner suggested.

Weidner spoke about his investigations of European cathedrals, including the Church of Saint-Sulpice and Notre-Dame, as well as the location of the Cross of Hendaye in southwestern France. "The Cross of Hendaye really contains the most important secrets that a long-ago, very-advanced culture had discovered and were lost in a gigantic catastrophe... the Cross of Hendaye was built to preserve those secrets," he said. Weidner explained the meaning of the symbols covering the cross' base, which is covered on four sides by an eight-pointed star, a fairy-tale moon, and angry sun surrounded by stars, and what appears to be a Masonic cross with four odd-looking letter A's. Weidner believes the Cross of Hendaye reveals how periodic catastrophes happen, what to look for as they are approaching, and where to go to save oneself.
