A passenger aircraft had a narrow miss with an unidentified object over Glasgow, a report has revealed.
The Airbus A320 was making its final approach to Glasgow Airport on 2 December when an object passed about 300ft underneath it.
The pilot of the aircraft said the risk of collision with the object, which did not show up on radar, had been "high". ...]

The risk was a perception of the plane pilot. The UFO pilot knew exactly what it was doing.

My thoughts exactly conk, and the airbus pilot likely wouldn't know that. Strange colours too, which may have something to do with navigation in close proximity. I have not seen these colours mentioned before. (or have missed it)

This very much reminds this other aircraft and UFO accident from 2007 :

Darren Parks of UFO Shropshire analysis of the incident;

"An investigation by the UK Airprox Board who examine near misses, could not explain the UFO that flew underneath the Airbus 320. We looked into this incident and contacted Glasgow Aiport who said that the incident occured on 2nd December 2012 over Baillieston 13 miles East of Glasgow Airport and involved a ‘holiday airline aircraft’. They would not tell us the name of the airline for security reasons, but were able to confirm that neither air traffic control or the aircrew could indentify the object. They also confirmed that a report has been made to the Civil Aviation Authority and the MoD.We have found out that no other aircraft are allowed to operate on the approach route into Glasgow Airport at any time, other than emergency aircraft on calls. Therefore if this could have been a microlight or hang glider then they would have had ample time to move out of this area. One thing we looked into was the possibility that this could have been a hot air balloon or kite, but checks with local police has revealed that anything of the size described by the pilot and crew, would have been removed within minutes of it being reported to them. What we have here is a genuine UFO encounter and because there are no radar reports of other aircraft or objects it makes it all the bit more a mystery. But what we also have is a clear breach of British airspace which is of a security concern"

He raises an interesting question,

"Why did the airport report this to the MoD as a UFO incident, when the MoD since 2009 said that they no longer investigate UFO incidents or reports?"

One wonders if Qinetiq, the British multinational defence technology company which operates RAF West Freugh a Royal Air Force station located in Wigtownshire, five miles (8 km) south east of Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, had monitoring surveillance of the object. The base has a quite a history of UFO incidents (one of the first in the UK).

Sorry but I'm temporarily unable to take this news item seriously due to absolutely ripping myself over the comedy value it has.

The idea that a holiday airliner should have a close encounter with UFO over the East end of Glasgow (my home town) would be kind of hilarious even if it was fiction - never mind that it's TRUE ! :rolleyes:

The locals seem to be having a field day over it anyway... https://www.facebook.com/baillieston
