...as of June 27, 2013.

I am not a member of the LDS, but I do like their self-sufficiency style.

Here's what's buzzing on the internet about the closures (bannning of lifestyle) at this time:

Home gardeners and home canners...beware! (This makes me just sick to my stomach!)

The article states that the LDS canneries will have to shut down because they can’t justify the costs of keeping up with the USDA ever changing criteria of staying compliant as a ‘cannery’.

The part that has me completely puzzled is this action will only (as stated by LDS spokesperson) affect the churches/canneries “west of the Mississippi”.

Why just the LDS canneries west of the Mississippi? If staying compliant with USDA regulations is the reason then wouldn’t that affect ALL canneries? I have a sneaking suspicion this may have something to do with the on going discord between the different factions of the Mormon Church.

****addition****

Another thought . . . I also suspect this is not a factual article or that this has more to do with the conflict in the Mormon Church because I know first hand what it takes to be compliant as an approved USDA cannery . . . because I am literally going through the process of opening a cannery for my county and local community.

So this is THE PURPOSE OF THE BOSTON BOMBINGS..ding ding ding. lightbulb goes on.

What? Did you read the article?

The FDA is not shutting them down, the church is saying it is too expensive to stay compliant with the changing criteria and as I stated above it is not that expensive . . . just a process.

Look deeper for the underlying reason folks. Not everything is an attack from the globalists or the government.

Hello Everyone:
The LDS church is still in the cannery business as far as dry pack ( packing dry goods into cans and sealing them etc. )
They got out of commercial canning due to more and more regulations that they did not want to deal with. Anyone can go to the canneries and buy or package dry goods into cans for storage. It's a great way to do food storage for a reasonable price.

OOPS, my bad. I misread the OP. I will edit my immediate response, and write it off as a brain fart.

The timing has some weird synchronicity regarding the pressure cooker connection.

Oh boy, another blame it on big government scam when they know they don't want to be in a cannery at that time anyway. NIBIRU is supposed to make that southern appearance and i can bet the elders will want to be safely tucked in their bunkers along with everybody that kept their tithes up.

lol:whistle:
