AP Surveillance: 'Govts taking our rights away, not Al-Qaeda'

Up to a hundred reporters and editors at the Associated Press have been targeted, in a
massive US government surveillance operation against the news service. AP is calling
the monitoring network - created by the Justice Department itself - unprecedented in
size and scope, and a gross violation of privacy. One consequence of this surveillance
scandal is that whistleblowers will now think twice, before calling a news desk - that's
according to investigative journalist and historian, Tony Gosling.

It's being called an unprecedented government intrusion. The Justice Department
secretly collected two months of telephone records from the Associated Press and its
reporters. Now the AP is demanding answers as to why the government was tracing
their phone calls. RT Correspondent Liz Wahl has the Justice Department's response and
what effect this could have on the media.

US government spied on Associated Press

The Associated Press is now reporting that the US Justice Department secretly obtained
two months' worth of phone records from reporters and editors. In what the AP calls a
massive and unprecedented intrusion into how news organizations gather information,
records were seized from bureaus in Washington DC, New York and even Hartford,
Connecticut. In total, the records of 20 phone lines were gathered, incorporating some
100 journalists. The government would not say why it sought the records. Matthew
Feeney, an associate editor at Reason 24/7, joins us for the latest.

The Nazis are here, alive and well, running our government and we is us, to misquote Pogo.
When the press is spied on by the government, the writing is on the wall. Mene mene tekel upharsin.
(Have you noticed the body count on journalists lately? It is bad.)
The past is present, the cycles are faster, here we are, and what can we do about it? Wait until it takes a wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread? To object?
I am visualizing clarity, and rabid mouthiness to all good Americans. (I say Americans when I mean all good people, because I don't know if these sites are available outside the U.S. I am positive though, there are other countries that have the same kind of websites.)
FYI: I find these websites very useful: petitions.moveon.org, weareultraviolet.org, SumOfUs.org and Avaaz.org
Anyone can start a petition on weareultraviolet.org. Once you have responded to a petition (I am guessing this is how it works), you start getting emails regarding petitions people have started. Subjects are as diverse as fracking in California, the killing of orangutans, big box stores selling bee killing pesticides, putting high school football rapists on trial, getting Reebok to dump spokesman Rick Ross, who boasted about raping a woman in his rap, Amazon selling females_drenched_in_blood_targets etc.
A petition hits your mailbox, and you can choose to sign and add your .02 as well in three or four clicks, adding your voice/vote to thousands of others.
I recently received an email that showed a list of all the petitions that made a difference, and it was a joyful jolt to my heart to see how the government, the corporations, the political parties do back down, when we make ourselves heard. We are powerful, because we are many, they are few, and when we talk, they listen, since it will hit their pocketbooks or their status as "elected" "officials".
May truthiness set us free.

beings without souls... these people have no commitment to the constitution because they are not from here ...they go on TV, and look straight in the camera and lie there butts off, talking out of both sides of their mouths ... control of the press is paramount to the agenda of socialism ... must control the thinking of the public , making a negative look like a positive ...

Keep an eye on this people. This is an operation and the beginning of a big one. One intended on separating MSM support (Transform Rock Solid Support to ANGER!) of the current Administration and parts of the Cabal that are "Not so secret". This OP is going to be very effective and essential for NEXT steps to be fruitful. With no puppet media to throw a wet blanket over corruption coupled with the burst of scandals that have been sat on until phase 1 & 2 are in place, there should be much less resistance to further and heavier disclosures.
MUCH more to come!
The MSM is seeing the downfall of those they support and they are divorcing themselves from their CORRUP Political and Financial lackies (Puppet Masters) pretty quickly now... watch them as they start to do so one by one by one...

White House denies knowledge of AP investigation

The White House and the Department of Justice both held press conferences earlier
today. Officials were mostly dealing with allegations the Internal Revenue Service
unfairly targeted Tea Party groups. One of the most vivid discussions was one the
Department of Justice detailing a two month long investigation culminating in the
collection months of the Associated Press' phone records. RT political commentator
Sam Sacks has more.

Obama administration denies knowledge of AP spying scandal

Published on 14 May 2013
On Monday, news broke that the Department of Justice secretly obtained two
months of phone records from journalists at the Associated Press. Between the
months of April and May of last year, nearly 100 employees of the AP were spied on
in an attempt to find the source of leaked information that some say threatened
national security. Now, the Obama administration claims to have nothing to do with
the eavesdropping and reiterated its efforts to be the most transparent
administration. Marcy Wheeler, a reporter with EmptyWheel.net, gives us her take
on what this means for journalism in America.

I have to say this, just so that it is said. There is potentially one more party to this transaction that is getting no scrutiny whatsoever. Was there a Judge that signed this subpoena? If there was not, then we need to amend the procedural rules so that the Justice Department can't sign a subpoena without leave of the court.
A subpoena is used to require a person to testify or to provide documents to a court to be used as evidence. As I understand this, the Justice department ostensibly subpoenaed these documents for use in a grand jury investigation and yet what they in essence did was get the records turned over to them to go through as you would with a search. If they issued a subpoena it should have been returned to the court on a day certain, not just compiled and turned over.

What other President has tried to pull off the ACT that he gets his info the same day the same way we do... on the morning news... and is shocked in the morning the same time we are...???
Now I see Obama is going to TRY to throw Hillary under the Bus... MISTAKE!!! SHE is a fighter and her Husband has her back too. This has the potential to become a cluster of 3 Scandals that hit like a shotgun pattern and no one in the WH and State Department or IRS can dodge bullets like "NEO"!
My Opinion - EXPECT:
1. Many lower ranking people who they have dirt on falling on their swords/resigning
2. Congressional hearings ramp up and the 25,000 documents kept secret demanded...
THEN
1. SUDDEN ESCALATION IN WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST, ESPECIALLY SYRIA OR EVEN IRAN (DESPERATION AND PANIC IS DRIVING ACTIONS RIGHT NOW)
2. MORE FALSE FLAG TERROR ATTACKS ON AMERICAN SOIL TO BANTER SIMILAR PUBLIC SENTIMENT AS 9/11. (RECENT REACTIONS SEEM TO SHOW WE NO LONGER FALL FOR THEM! Example Boston etc...)
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN PEOPLE!!!

Oh, I for got of course lots of attempted B$ and misdirection! BUT, after wiretapping the AP and pushing away their closes allies... GOOD LUCK!!!
The Media is livid about that right now and are giving more air time to the other two (IRS/Benghazi) scandals than they would normally.
