I was saddened to read the below article I found on the Mercola Web site. The meddling of the FDA into the rights of individuals to choose healthy food choices is intolerable. We can purchase soda pop, candy, processed food with little or no nutritious value, we can have cigarettes, alcohol but healthful raw milk seems to be criminal........................

Story at-a-glance From the Mercola Web site......

The trial of Wisconsin dairy farmer Vernon Hershberger recently began at the Sauk County Courthouse. Hershberger’s farm was targeted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection for supplying a private buying club with raw milk and other fresh produce.
Hershberger is charged with four criminal misdemeanors that could result in a jail sentence of up to 30 months
Criminal trials centering around raw milk are scheduled to take place in both Minnesota and Wisconsin this year
CDC data shows there are about 412 confirmed cases of people getting ill from pasteurized milk each year, while only about 116 illnesses a year are linked to raw milk. Research by Dr. Ted Beals shows that you are about 35,000 times more likely to get sick from other foods than you are from raw milk
If the FDA and state agencies are allowed to impose their view of “safe food” on consumers, raw milk won’t be the only thing lost—all food will be pasteurized, irradiated, and genetically engineered. The effort to reclaim our right to buy and consume raw milk is leading the way for everyone who wants to be able to obtain the food of their choice from the source of their choice

Only in America, you can be charged for producing a product of nature that we as a species have been drinking since we became hunter gatherers but you can put a product like aspartame ( almost a poison) in food and drink and give it to children and that's ok because it's produced by a multy national company and not a farmer.

This is so sad to read that we come to this, may common sense prevail and enough people show support for this farmer and his family.

Have look at this website if you live in the USA and help sort this out

Only in America do we let people walk all over our sovereignty. How did these organizations get the idea that they had the right to tell us what we can or can't do? We never question them. We never stand up to them. It has always been OUR choice and OUR responsibility. Not theirs. If there's something we NEED to know about a product, the ONLY thing that they can do is SUGGEST or RECOMMEND something. That's all. We should be able to take it from there....

Just remember all, that your Government Mommy and Daddy know best. They always thought they did, but now they intend to make it happen.

It is beyond conceivable to me that a person in this country could be prosecuted for the sale of raw milk.

Here is the focus of the article...

FDA and state agencies are allowed to impose their view of “safe food”

One by one our rights are going away. I can only speculate what it will look like for my grandchildren when they grow up.

Boy,....nobody knows the absurdity behind this like myself and Paul do. Both of us were brought up on dairy farms in our youth and fully understand the overwhelming 'health' factors that are in play, here. I can't begin to tell you just how many glass gallon jugs of milk I have filled, straight from the galvanized milk tanks, and taken home for consumption by my myself, my two younger brothers, two younger sisters, and mom and dad! And on top of 'that', the quality of the 'taste' is still something that I greatly miss after all of these years being removed from the farm!

No wonder our Lord made this statement concerning how 'absurd' humanity can be at times.

Matthew 23:24 (KJV)

24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Our 'society' sure seems to be able to 'swallow,...completely whole' the things in life that should never be consumed in the first place,.....and then 'choke to death' over the most insignificant details that really don't matter at all, don't we?

No wonder we need to be 'born again',.....I think He really knows what He is talking about, don't you?

Let's 'all' say a special prayer for this dairy farmer, my dear friends!

God bless,......your brother, friend, and servant,.......kreagle
