A bit of good news from the Bangor Daily News (state of Maine, northeast USA) South Portland doctor stops accepting insurance, posts prices online (http://bangordailynews.com/2013/05/27/news/portland/south-portland-doctor-stops-accepting-insurance-posts-prices-online/):

Dr. Michael Ciampi took a step this spring that many of his fellow physicians would describe as radical.

The family physician stopped accepting all forms of health insurance. In early 2013, Ciampi sent a letter to his patients informing them that he would no longer accept any kind of health coverage, both private and government-sponsored. Given that he was now asking patients to pay for his services out of pocket, he posted his prices on the practice’s website.

That's the 'only thing I would like to go back to." If the docs and hosp and nursing staff and care givers are doing the job, then the "insurance deniars that don't "CARE" for the patients should have nothing to do with medical practice. Highest price WE the people ever paid for being stupid enough to listen to corporate republicans weasel a healthcorp bill through in 2003, off the books and rising 39% every year until Healthcare Act. Why can't the hospitals who buy in bulk, not have "clinics for the poor and indigent" and stop playing around with the greedy people. All that technology they are using, including the 'over radiated tests" multiple times x-ray, is out dated compared to Magnetic resonance and Sonograms. We've paid for the R&R 1000's of times over. Each hospital only has about 4 machines.

When WE the People/HUMANS take the greedy middlemen out, there is always a fairer deal. Who wants to pay people to deny you care, in a healthcare/compassionate service to us.

Greed hath no morals.
