View Full Version : Will Detection of Unapproved Genetically Modified Wheat Decimate US Economy?

Here's what I found about it:

By Dr. Mercola

Monsanto has really done it this time.

As recently reported by CNBC1 and other media outlets,2, 3 an unapproved strain of genetically engineered (GE) wheat has been found growing on a farm in Oregon. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the anomaly on May 29.

As it turns out, the Roundup Ready (i.e. glyphosate-resistant) strain of wheat was developed by Monsanto and field tested in 16 different states between 1998 and 2005.

Plans to bring it to market were abandoned due to opposition against genetically engineered wheat. Many countries importing US wheat do not permit GE ingredients in their food, or require such foods to be labeled.

About 50 percent of the wheat grown in the US is exported. The finding of illegal GE wheat contamination may dramatically alter this ratio however.

Japan and Korea has already suspended orders of US wheat4 in response to the findings. The EU has ordered member states to test imported wheat for contamination.

The economic impact to wheat farmers could be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Washington and Kansas wheat farmers have already filed lawsuits against Monsanto due to the immediate harm this disaster has created.

The effects will not be limited to wheat, as importing countries question what other genetic experiments may have escaped the lab and contaminated natural varieties. Monsanto has clearly stated they will leverage the fact they followed government protocol and therefore cannot be held accountable for this mess. The biotech industry is also defending Monsanto, suggesting 'activists' must have set them up.

The biotech industry has so strongly infiltrated and influenced the government agriculture and 'health' agencies they should be considered subsidiaries.

Yes it will if we do not do anything about it.

You mean like the tomatoe squash gene put in to make tomatoes bigger and more in line of squash vitamins than tomato vitamins?

They cross breeded with melons and pumpkins anything to make them bigger for sale attraction. You think you're getting more, but you're getting a mixed cocktail of some geneticist, thesaurus paper to feed the world by chemicals.

this is horrible and I suggest they sue the "MON" off Monsanto for "crop pollution."

Thank you for posting this info on Monsanto. The hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper. No wonder Monsanto has been pushing so hard to put themselves above the law. That last statement "The biotech industry has so strongly infiltrated and influenced the government agriculture and 'health' agencies they should be considered subsidiaries" really hits the mark. I will be following this with interest. Wish more people would wake up faster before we're all dead.

Dr. Joseph P Farrell has a great video from May 31st on his site about this issue. Before I listened to his News and Views from the Nefarium, I had no idea that a these countries were boycotting the wheat from the US (and most likely Canada).

The MSM did report the demonstrations against Monsanto, but I never ONCE heard them mention the fact these countries were boycotting our grain. As usual, great reporting MSM!

I am staying in the Walla Walla area right now, and sadly this story is in many of their local papers.

There is "old money"/big agra here and I hope they rip Monsanto's bunghole out over this.

Autism, alzheimers, what else can we link to GMO? Sterility, destruction of DNA, organ failure! Skin rashes!

the list goes on forever.

Which is more important - the hallowed US economy, or LIFE ?

How timely I just received this link. All this attention is putting the focus on wheat again.
And the news just keeps getting worse. Monsanto is just one leg of this.
It looks like they are now sticking their own foot in their mouth on this one.
The destruction of wheat has been going on for decades.
Another chicken (hidden truth revealed) coming home to roost.
mmm... mmm... mmmmmm.... read it and weep...

Modern Wheat Is The 'Perfect Chronic Poison' Says Expert

I always wonder...
Why do they give this out whenever they go on one of their "rescue missions" to other foreign countries?
Why do they "provide" it so generously to Aboriginal people, the Eskimos, etc.
Is it just another slow death, another "white man" (sorry to say it) "gift" with a hidden agenda?...

A lot of indigenous cultures are acclimated to hunter gatherer type diets
Isn't this just another (largely) Western Corporate Scam being exposed?
Exactly like the tobacco Industry creating a higher nicotine concentrated plant,
That would cause greater addiction and make more money for the corporation.

Is it any wonder that 80% of all food in stores is made of this, along with high fructose corn syrup,
and canola oil or soybean oil? And look at people today, everyone is obese, it's a biological inevitability
if you eat anything made with it.

This life is truly a matrix of untold evil, and always has been, the only difference today is us, our developing perception.

The internet I think was 'given' to us this time round to change the outcome this time. To give us a fighting chance.
So much communication, makes it impossible to compute all the possible outcomes.
The most profound technological impact on society in all history.
Truly levelling the playing field. (the masses vs the elites)
They didn't see this coming.
They can't put this genie back in the bottle.
