i can remember when this happened and hearing about witnesses saying that they saw a missile. apparently those witnesses were dismissed by the FBI. i can only hope that this gains momentum and that we'll see others come forward about other historical cover-ups.

I do remember the reports of a missile being discounted as paranoid conspiracy theory *LOL*
Notice the image?
They dove to bottom of ocean to recover every last scrap and rebuild as much of the plane as possible.
This was standard operating procedure for airplane disasters once upon a time.

i remember this too and i remember how angry i was because something inside of me told me it wasn't right. i am glad that some recognition has been presented. it helps with the awakening.
warmest regards, corson
Here is the documentary complete with download links on the bottom. I haven't even finished watching it yet and can tell you it's a keeper.

(I think it's the documentary, even if it isn't the one to air on 7/17 it's a good one)

Here's the website for the newly released documentary:

This is one of the most beautifully crafted documentaries I've ever seen -- and I've seen a lot. It was extraordinarily well done. Very highly recommended.

Note: this is a different documentary, which I've not yet seen.
The one with the trailer embedded above is certainly one I'd urge everyone to see -- even if only to admire the very high quality of the production and direction.

Anyone with ideas of how to get EPIX outside of the US? The site says only US residents may register.
Thanks

I remember seeing a video on youtube that showed a missile heading up towards the plane, which of course has disappeared from the Internet.
Personally I have come to the conclusion that it was a shoulder-launched SAM fired from a Coast Guard station just a couple of miles to the north of where it happened. Ironically, this is the same Coast Guard station where the cockpit is shown here being lowered... http://i.huffpost.com/gadgets/slideshows/308847/slide_308847_2706023_free.jpg?1374055272483
If you go to the slideshow on this page it is image 14 of 35..

A point of interest, it is speculated that whoever shot this flight down was aiming for the one right after it, which was an EL AL flight headed to Israel.,,, but the flights were backed up a bit and the TWA flight came in right when the EL AL flight was scheduled. Since there doesn't appear that there were any government whistleblowers aboard the flight, and no one has come up with a viable reason for Flight 800 being shot down, it might indeed have been the EL AL flight they were waiting for.... an excuse to start a Middle East war maybe?

According to Camelot witness 'Henry Deacon' (Arthur Neumann), it was a Stinger missile (or maybe more than one), and the shoot-down was a genuine honest-to-God accident -- which the Pentagon then very unwisely chose to cover up.

A little strange explanation. The stinger is a small shoulder-launched missile and it's range reaches up to 8 Kilometers, since it was shot around Long Island, the height of the Plane make sense, but the fact that some eye witnesses saw the missile with their own eyes is peculiar since to the best of my memory (I served in the Air Defence and watched countless of those launches) it is not easy to spot because of it's small size, especially randomly. Also, what doesn't add up is the fact that such 'genuine accidents' can actually occur, there should be some strict rules on where and how to fire. Also weapons intentionally aimed at passenger aircrafts will not be a Stinger but something like the Patriot missile or one of the other Anti aircraft cannons.
It sounds unreasonable that such a thing would be accidentally fired into civilian population area by a Military or other established factor. But who knows, anything and everything can be true these days.

Understood! :)
Of interest, I did discuss this with Henry a little. He said that the actual (classified) altitude/range of the Stinger was rather greater than the figures that were openly published.
But he didn't give any details, and the information he shared about the incident was only what he'd heard second-hand as gossip on the 'inside'. He had not been personally involved in any way.
The impression he gave was that it was a test or training exercise that had gone wrong, as the presence in the area of the civilian TWA plane was not noticed or had been overlooked. He did say that as best he knew it was a Navy missile or missiles. That was pretty much the extent of what he was able to tell us.

We have also concluded that it was an accident.
If it had been planned, then I would have expected the planners to have gained some advantage, and to have organized the cover-up better. But as it was, it seemed that the government was caught on its back foot, to little advantage other than just preserving the cover up.
