Last year I manage to really get a loving growing sense of infinite awareness of the all without the imaginary lines of learned daily reality. It was percieved to me as real progress. Even though it was more random times that I was doing this, I did have a routine for a short while where I did this in a structure meditation. And because of this meditation, this sense start carrying over into my daily life leaving a really great sense of growth and connectedness.

Strange being in a room and sensing the infinity that actually exist outside the room. Strange also liquid, gas(air) and solid objects (walls etc) being equal within this infinite perspective, especially compared to other states of consciousness.

Since then I almost completely forgot about it due to random activities as well as moving out and getting a job. But since about a day ago, I have started integrating it again into my awareness as well as integrating it into meditation.

As soon as I look at the laptop my awareness went from infinite spacious back to a tiny small window right in front of me.

The reason I write this now is to get other perspectives on this.

Do you think its a choice between spiritual growth and our current daily lives if we really want to grow or can we have both worlds in one in a sense?

Do any of yous do anything similar with your awareness or thinking of making the choice of completely eliminating electronics from your daily life?

Or have you anything that may help me in my choice or anybody elses who is thinking of making that choice?

Looking forward to your answers, thank you.

You think you have a choice, and I like that. Your ordinary life is the catalyst. The action. The fuel. The thrust.
Don't separate the two and you won't have to choose. You have ignition, and then you have liftoff. Don't judge it by discomfort.
There's untended stuff, and it needs to be tended where it is. That'll raise the vibration. That you will enjoy.
If you can remember conflict's purpose. you can cruise right through it.

Why wouldn't your daily concerns and distractions be a part of that experience? Is there something else going on here?
I wouldn't attach whole moments to anything other than that you're ready for that. That's not the end of confrontation, but a hell of a help.

Integrate it into what you think isn't spiritual and be an example. Your relationships, your arguments, your frustration with neighbors and bosses.
The stinky landfill.
You reject those things. That's why it seems separate.
It's not. You've noticed how inclusive totality is. It would have to be. It would have to include those things and your reactions to them..

A discipline of uncompromising indiscriminate kindness is a fast track through all that. How you want to treat yourself, you witness multiply.
You lose interest in the truly irrelevant stuff.

I think eliminating electronics would make a stronger organism, at least in terms of focus and personal ability to survive,

but some might argue that transferring some of the burden of survival to machines allows us to spend energy on more important things.

But what could be more important than preserving survival?

we really have here a conflict between the spiritual and physical!

It's difficult to know how far we can trust machines to take us.

When i started using a computer all the time, like hours a day, i noticed a decrease in my visual acuity.
i started being unable to "notice the full scope" of my world.

i hope that was just me and not everyone.

however, lots of ESP experiements have been done with the help of internet connections, and maybe when we lose one eye the other opens, so to speak...

Hi ThresholdRising good post.

The material/physical is where we store our material/physical tools, tools have their uses.

Computers, internet great material world communication and info systems, much can be gained from them.

Do your exercises and expand your consciousness as the main/real you, grow and grow and the material becomes something to just use when you wan't.

Main thing to remember is that: computer, internet etc are just tools.

I think your right. It seems that if you really do want something, that chances are you have to lose something to gain it. I've also notices a decrease in visual acuity but not as bad these days. Maybe let this perception a bit here and a bit there. If the day comes that it those replace other activities it might mean its extremely purposeful in this life.

Thanks for the great feedback

To me, it makes more sense to live all the gains you can get from meditating. Nobody is an island and we are all connected and
you will see, that you can live your regular daily life with more joy and a clear mind. Then, every action you make becomes a blissful moment.
Ok...lets say, you are more aware and focused on what you are doing and that leads to a felt happiness.
Even washing dishes :-)

I really liked the classic book "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda, where most of the presented "Gurus" had profane jobs and managed to make spiritual progress at the same time.

And, me thinks, you can get some really good advices from your higher self or whatever you wanna call it, sudden realizations and spiritual events, but well, we should use the lessons that we learn in real life. Otherwise its just theory, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the suggestions. Must check out the book. I've been experimenting for sometime. I believe I'm at the stage where I'm integrating some of the principles I've learned over the years into the next variations.
