The message in this clip from the motion picture Network (1976) serves as reminder to maintain intelligent, proper perspective, and consider the source when seeking truth.

Thanks for the clip - I've never sat through the whole movie straight through but find the clips on forums like this and like them all. Sure would be fun to see happen in this thing we call real life.

Administrator - this post was intended for the "Current News" section of the Forum.
I started to move it to "Current Events", as you suggested, but then figured it would fit better in "Books, Videos, Articles, etc.".

I also added a bit of a description to the opening post, and replaced the URL with the inline YOUTUBE.

Hello Paul - Thank you for your efforts, and for volunteering your time to be a moderator. I will state here what was sent to Marianne regarding her questioning the proper positioning of this post:

"Hi Marianne,

The current events forum is the intended forum for this post. Its positioning in that forum is the message. Writing a disclaimer of what it is detracts from its intended message. In watching the clip, one will clearly see that message. My request is that it remains in that forum, at least for now. If that is not in accordance to the founder's intent, then please address it with him prior to repositioning the post.

Thank you.

Warm regards,

Kristi"

Your goals are clearly stated and admirable. I did move this thread back to "Current Events".

Some members cannot view video clips, for reasons such as lack of Youtube support on some "smart" phones, and some members minimize the number of such clips they watch, to save time or due to a low bandwidth connection.

So it is rather burdensome to such members to expect them to view a Youtube clip with vague description.

Perhaps the text in the opening post could be changed to something such as:

The message in this clip from the motion picture Network (1976) serves as reminder to maintain intelligent, proper perspective, and consider the source when seeking truth.
I doubt that clearly stating your intent meaning in presenting this clip dilutes its impact. More often, a clear statement of intent improves the quality of the message.

I could make that change if you like, or you can make such a change, by clicking on "Edit Post", at the bottom of the first post.
