The media only tells a small portion of what is really going on, they say its not in the public's interest, who are they to decide what is or is not?
It is limited and doctored information being given, we are entitled to the full un blown truth, as it is. Not some fair story or rose coloured glasses perception of what is happening.

I don't necessarily believe the "news presenters" are always aware of the full story either. I think the media in general is run like the military....on a need to know basis...and you don't need to know, at least as far as upper management is concerned.

Thank you sigma6! That was one of the best examples how the media is like an octopus with each and every tentacle it uses same words to create the 'required' suggestion and mind control.

Bogeyman, there's just no room for the damned facts. Today CNN has 7 out of their 15 top stories dedicated to celebrities and their misdeeds:
21986
What else do you need to know about?

I've never been in a teeeveee newsroom but in one small town paper that I know of, a story can come in email to 200+ small towns across the country with orders to print as is. No Editing!
Funny how then people can say, "It must be true. I see it in all the papers."
A person makes no points with managers by trying to add in any truth. Shut up or leave.

All news comes down from Reuters and AP, and all news agencies, if they want to retain their advertising, follow the script.

The media only tells a small portion of what is really going on, they say its not in the public's interest, who are they to decide what is or is not?Exactly! Who are they to decide, but more importantly (IMO): why do THEY (the media) and WE (the people) accept this? Once upon a time the media was our "watch dogs"--or, at least, that was what we were led to believe. Now they are nothing more than the government's propaganda machine.
In the US one can flip channels between the four major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS & FOX) and hear not only the same topics, but the same script when they're airing their national news dog and pony show. I've even caught two or three channels almost totally in sync with their stories and scripts. There's clearly no journalistic integrity and I question whether there are even any real journalists anymore. To make matters worse they can't even get simple facts straight in their rush to be "first with a story." I don't know how many times the media would report a "confirmed" fact only to provide a "new-and-improved/updated" fact later--usually with no apology for getting the earlier "fact" wrong. But what amazes me most is that the masses seem to have no problem with this charade.

It goes further than just the US - watch world headlines any day, from Russia to Australia, Israel, India and on ... nearly the same headlines with very little change of slant to fit the region.
