I just saw an Airforce commercial with the airman talking about all that you can fly. "helicopters, aircrafts, spaceships, and STARSHIPS".
spaceships to me is the shuttles.
starships to me is a ship that goes to the stars.
very interesting that they put it in your faces and no ones asks questions.

I just hope the private sector liberates space travel from the air force/NASA monopoly very soon.
What is this, god emperor of dune?
As former air force mxs I have to say, discard the old junk heaps enabling milterror and print up some shuttles...
I hope 3 d printing revolutionizes space tech.
Build it in orbit.

Well said but you would still have to bring the building materials into space.... Unless you start mining, refining, making alloys/plastics, etc in space.

Well the Airforce has several "starships" really, a more recent one being the Boeing X-37 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_X-37)

so technically it's right, right?
you could call this a "space drone"

When I think starship, I imagine a ship that can visit other star systems but perhaps there are looser definitions out there.
