Low technology maybe the way to avoid surveillance or monitoring.

"An order of old-fashioned typewriters from the Russian Federal Guard Service (FSO) has sparked a media storm, with assumptions that the low-tech equipment purchase was prompted by recent US intelligence leaks surrounding the NSA surveillance program."

The old ways are the best so some people say.

They may just want something that will work when the lights go out.

Back to the future in action. With the advances in para psycology we should worry about communication forms when it is moving into the non verbal stage on a daily basis. Take for example remote viewing and OBE and the possibility of watching the typist. To me this item is a distraction to keep us from realizing our true potential. IMHO

Perhaps they are just shrewd investors :)

I wonder if they got some carbon paper as well; also perhaps a truckload of liquid correction fluid.

It's why we kept our "klunker." No GPS.

Always wise not to participate in the "fear and need to have everybody in your car, house, pocket."

I like typing and they will probably go back to "morse" to communicate. I'll be glad when we can pretty much feel/read each other's intent or see the aura's to not become trapped in a web.
Urban communities use "ebonics" for norml conversation. For shizzle, my nizzle and all that. But Snoop, and their generation don't use it right, but old schoolers knizzow, whazzup.
I know perhaps certain communities, shuzzud adizzap the sizzame thizing?

No power for a while, until they get it all back up, but they will need to communicate by road, rail, or air?

Post offices across this country have been infiltrated by the corporate structures as far as Public/Private partnership, and they have "everyone in America's name and address. NOW that they've done like they've always done and "overspent the post office's budgets" they are threatening to close them. But they still have the lists.
Same with healthcare in the private sector, so the chafe, have to be weeded out of the wheat. Those in positions of power that harm the planet or other beings are in for some dizzeep dizzoo-zoo!

That's why it makes no difference, what they plan behind closed doors, GOD KNOWS WHAT THEY DO INSIDE THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS.

I learned to make candles and have stocked up on them. Dimmer light for emergency only, and not a target in the search. Also have to pick up a black tarp for covering a outdoor hole and water proofing.

Back to the thrift stores and dollar general for hurricane lamps and oil. Black tents in the night, are always a good idea. Remember the temperature around you, and keep your environment the same temperature to blend in from infrared, whatever region.:-)

Developing your own power... as the Imortal Spirit that you are... is by far, the best way to go...

And precisely why I keep my thread going...

Brilliant strategy. The Russians are famous for achieving technological gains at a fraction what the US flushes down the toilet. The space pen example where the US spent millions developing a zero gravity "pen". The Russians used a pencil (and put the resulting savings to better use).

The purpose of using typewriters will have many benefits, if they are manufacturing themselves it will provide a low tech manufacturing base and create jobs for workers, repair shops, and teachers (of typing) It may be used as a criteria in job selection (typing skills) They may be limiting who has them and thus controlling how information is distributed, plus they will also be able to apply forensics and trace back who is creating what documents and root out forgery. It may be a defense against hackers in Russia employed by the mob or similar. It will slow down the flow of information in some instances, but maybe that is a benefit too. Then again maybe it is just a common sense backup in a potential power failure situation.
