I hope this is true....Seems like this will make Australia as rich as Norway...

I hope it's true to. A discovery like this could take Saudi Arabia down a notch or two. The Middle East would be a much better place w/o Saudi Arabia funding terrorism over there.

"they" already invaded Australia decades ago ;)

It's not oil, it's oil shale. Maybe not as bad as the Tar Sands (now, Mordor) in Canada, but still oil locked in rock.
Coober Pedy, a 'desert rat' opal mining area, will now be destroyed (or "built-up", take your pick)
Look at before and after pictures of the Tar Sands area before getting too giddy.
It's also another little injection to allow "Godzilla" (the Big Energy Mafia) to keep suppressing 'free energy' a little longer. And, if it is anything like most oil extraction exploits around the world, only a small percentage of the wealth generated will go to the ordinary people of Australia.

This is what Benjamin Fulford has to say about it...
Cabal control of the oil industry is ending. For example, Australia has announced it has discovered more oil than in Iran, Iraq and Venezuala combined.

Combined with Canada and Russia, it means the world will no longer have to go to the volatile Middle East for oil.

This is interesting. I was hearing on a report last night on the idiot box, that the US is now finding more oil in their fields, and will have less reliance for the Saudis. Next 100 years of oil apparently.
But I agree with you Dennis. Any 'new discovery' of an untapped 'black' resource is another step back for free/green technologies unfortunately.

It's there alright, and the reason it was found is that the shale had been known about for years but because there was then no shortage of oil the area was not developed. The problem of extracting it will be huge- there is simply no suitable water anywhere near, but I'm sure a solution will be found if enough money is promised! I did hear a suggestion that water could be piped from --- Irian Jaya or Tasmania. !!!!! A desperate solution indeed, and particularly silly when it has been found in a country with such abundant sunshine-- solar seems so much more sensible. But who can own the sun?.
Coober Pedy is really interesting. It is in a desert area, And produces the most beautiful deeply coloured opals. They are called black opals, but are mostly a wonderful deep turquoise colour that shimmers with yellow, and sometimes the best have red flashes. The weather is so hot that the opal miners live underground. I was there many years ago and the only building of size in the open was the Hotel! The cave houses are lovely and cool, and beautifully built and maintained. I expect that now a lot of people prefer to live in regular houses with a/c but I hope not!

yep , australia is now on the drone list , must have weapons of mass destruction, and in need of some rebels (CIA) ... bomb here and there and blame it on their nearest enemy and sit back and collect the spoils and claim freedom and democracy has been brought to the land down under ... gooday , mate , isn't freedom great ??? watch there will be some environmental disaster and the U.S. EPA and others will have to take charge of the area , media blackout , and car crashes for those who talk in front of cameras about whats really going on ...

The oil is located in Coober Pedy - it's so hot that most houses are underground (where the temperature is "cool" all year around). If this oil isn't deep people's homes may flood with oil!

What ever happened to the Colorado Basin oil that people were so excited about 10 years ago. It was supposed to HUGE as well.

I think you nailed it, along with Elissa, I also think they knew about this for years, (the timing is just too convenient, when many alternative energy solutions are just on the cusp of entering main stream awareness... in particular all the Liquid Molten Salt Reactor technology) and if you listen to the promotional investment video they are spinning, it sounds too good to be true... I suspect the reason they are putting this "promotional spin" on this is because of what they are hiding... Even the big investors don't have enough money to make this happen, they are going to need huge influxes of private investment.
I see two prongs to this, one is to distract peoples attention and their wallets into what truly will be an endless money pit. They will need unbelievable amounts of money to spend on infrastructure, so I am not sure I would want to be an early investor, that's a tough call. And if shale requires tons of water, just think of how much money will have to be spent to make this into a full time operation.
This reminds me of a scene out of Dune. I pity the "corporation" that moves into this clime to make their home. Water will be the most precious commodity (if you value your life at all)
At least in Alberta, they have access to water (and it is destroying the environment as a result, causing the most harm to the native communities that rely on those natural resources...) How are they going to get a river of water to Coober Pedy? The only thing I can think of is the building of a huge aquifer. Think of how long it took Gadaffi to build his aquifer system in his attempt to make his country more independent and self sufficient. Wasn't it like 30 years? And that was using the entire resources of a country to make it happen. Using that model as a baseline, I would like to see what the comparable distances and water sources look like. Come to think of it, the promotional video didn't discuss any of this...
So blast it, I want to see China, India and other countries build Thorium reactors, or uranium reactors based on the Thorium reactor design to raise the standard of living for ALL people. It is safe, non polluting, and eliminates the ingredients needed to make bombs. Once this technology is perfected. The energy problem is solved for the next 200, 300+ years. Oil shouldn't be burned as a fuel, but used instead for other manufacturing processes... Oil monopolies will still exist but will simply lose their global stranglehold on mankind and have to come back down to earth. (that's my dream)
What's oil shale? (and how its' extracted)
http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/energy/oil-shale1.htm
This link really puts it into perspective. I think the reason the entire planet is paying our blood for oil is so the elites can drain the entire planets resources to sucker us into helping them pay for shale extraction. The end result is they will just make it feasible enough for them to keep producing oil which in turn will keep the entire planet in bondage. It's a beautiful plan, they suck up all our money, they keep us in bondage, they don't have to change or upgrade their infrastructure, they get to destroy the environment which further weakens and destroys humanity. And we as a planet pay for all it.... (not gonna happen!) Thorium reactors will be online and commercial viable in 5 to 10 years, the irony is they are needed to make shale oil extraction viable... Catch 22.
