Came across the lake as a interesting place to canoe some years ago-little did I know that the place is associated with a long list of peculiar and spooky stories going back hundreds of years. A seductive intrigue of it's dark waters has resulted in many visits and overnighters, encountering as a byproduct the presences in the shadows, the threatening orbs, the terrifying rips and the trippy thermoclines. It's one moody, spirtual place. That seems to strenghten your spirit through working with your fears, but it's charm is not just it's beuti but it's soft blanket that hugs you when your there.

As to why such a tranquil site should be so threateningly disturbing at times-can only assume when the lake was created through damming the valley it blocked the natural healthy flow of energy? and that it's natural resource is being taken?

I live in an area where pristine natural habitat is being destroyed quite frequently, and I will attest to their being angry nature spirits present as a result of this.

I've had experiences where I slept at a friends house the was built within the last few months and was built on pristine virgin desert. And yes there are just as many nature spirits in the desert as in the forest. We are not talking about sand dune wastes here, but vegetation, cactus and a host of wildlife including predatory birds of all types, coyote, bobcats, mountain lions, badgers, turantulas and javalinas (wild desert boar). Anyway, I received several night terrors which upon waking I knew were the result of displaced and or dying nature beings that lived in the area prior to the devolopment.
In one such dream a skeletal figuire wearing the hooded robe of the grim reaper came to me and as it's face became level with my face I saw the skeletal face of a wild javalina, with tusks and everything.
As I struggled to wake up knowing I was dreaming I began to scream, the being motioned to me and placed a skeletal finger up to it's tusked mouth as if to tell me to shush.
