Every town should do the same !
I have heard about it yesterday on the radio so I thought if I put this here maybe others will do the same !
Do you know about other Urbain initiative like this in your town ?
Did you know that the gardens of the city are bursting with fruit trees? Each year, tonnes of unharvested fruit is left to rot on the ground. On your marks, get set, go! It’s time to share the bounty. By bringing together fruit tree owners and volunteer harvesters, we can make sure that this delicious fresh fruit doesn’t go to waste.
Les Jardins Suspendus will send volunteer harvesters to pick from urban fruit trees, providing a valuable service to tree owners and helping you to avoid unnecessary waste. Once picked, the harvest is split in three: 1/3 goes to the tree owner; 1/3 is shared between the volunteer harvest crew; 1/3 is donated to a local food bank or non-profit organization.

Our goals:
Take advantage of local food resources and make them accessible to all
Reduce waste
Encourage local production
Facilitate the sharing of knowledge
Encourage community involvement
