Occupy UC Davis Pepper Spray Cop Hoping for 'Psychiatric' Compensation (http://rt.com/usa/pepper-spray-cop-psychiatric-compensation-657/)

The California police officer who was filmed blanketing a group of peaceful Occupy protesters with pepper spray has filed for worker’s compensation after experiencing psychiatric problems when footage of the incident went viral.

John Pike has a settlement conference scheduled for August 13 in Sacramento, according to the California Department of Industrial Relations.
Note: RT incorrectly labels the cop as an "Occupy Oakland Cop", correction is that he was an "Occupy UC Davis" security cop.

He needs help alright. Had he gone to jail for assault, the boys would have taught him respect.

Seems they have it in, for peaceful citizens who protest.

In the follow-up, it seems the guy lost his job over this, thanks to those among the 1 percent that filed charges:

It is reported (http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/state&id=9186738) that Hackers posted Pike's information online, and he received scores of threats that led an Alameda County Court judge to rule against releasing the names of other officers at the scene. He was fired in July 2012, eight months after a task-force investigation found that his action was unwarranted.

Ian Lee was one of the pepper-sprayed protesters. He and about 20 others shared in a $1 million settlement from the university last year. The college junior is hoping Pike's claim is denied.
