MarketWatch.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dow Jones & Company ran a commentary piece yesterday by Paul Farrell entitled, “Big Banks Conspiracy is destroying America (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/big-banks-conspiracy-is-destroying-america-2013-08-07?pagenumber=1).” It reads as if Mr. Farrell and popular “alternative” newsletter writer Jim Willie swapped bodies.
Last month (http://www.silverdoctors.com/the-doc-and-eric-dubin-clarify-jp-morgans-decision-to-exit-physical-commodity-business/), SilverDoctors.com discussed the significance of some US Congressional representatives taking a more proactive regulatory stand in the context of investment banks manipulating commodities markets (not precious metals – but still). JP Morgan didn’t exit their profitable physical commodities business lines because they wanted to. Voices critical of the banking oligarchy are on the rise, and JP Morgan’s decision was taken within this context. It was, as SilverDoctors.com argued, a calculated political decision taken as a cost of doing business.
Perhaps the level of corruption and financial system rot has reached the point where the establishment must employ a “limited hangout” strategy, shining the light of truth from time to time just to keep the ponzi going. Regardless, it’s noteworthy that the mainstream discussion is moving into realms once thought to be the land of tin foil hat nuttery. It’s about time.

It is sad that we get the truth from these people after they retire or are no longer with their former employers. This is very much like a Senator or member of Congress will say something earthshaking in their final year in office. In the case of the bankers I have no sympathy for them whatsoever, if they did not have the backbone to speak up for the good of society when they were actively working then they must be considered nothing more than greedy bankers.

They have played out their hand and there is nothing to be gained in the way of government dollars, taxpayer dollars, stock options or bonuses so only after they have gotten everything they want they get religion. They want us to think they are now offering sage advice of an oldtimer when in fact all they did was rape, pillage and burn society to the max when they were younger.

There is a huge difference between rich people and people like these guys and I hope people make the distinction.
