I am 28 years old, seen a bit, done a bit. I have travelled, stayed somewhere and met great people. Starting from scratch, never got money to support my travels, just earned my dollars/euros to make my experiences. My main goal in travelling was to see, how people live on other parts of the world. Planet Earth is big, but I got the chance to have a glimpse at different societies, social structures, religious beliefs and behaviour. I was very curious.
I had money, while I was travelling but mostly I was depending on others people hospitality. On purpose. There are a few hospitality exchange sites (No money) on the net, most famous:
www.couchsurfing.com
www.workaway.info
www.helpx.net
www.wwoof.net
You more or less trust a stranger to stay at your house/appartement/boat/tent whatever. Same goes in reverse. There is a verification system through references from people you met so far. I am doing this for 6 years or so and never had any bad experiences.
I had a little farm in Italy for 2 years, where I hosted young travellers and backpackers. Young in the mind...from 18 to 65 y/o. Most of them were in their 20s. They were all a great interesting bunch of people-200 people at least. Starts from bricklayers, chefs, yoga teachers, managers, school teachers, mechanics, students, university professors, carpenters, psychologists, even had a christian monk staying with me. And most of them came for relaxing and/ or recreation.
It was interesting to observe, when I was confused on whatever reasons for some weeks, I had confused young people staying at my place and we helped each others. When I had a good time, interesting characters showed up and we helped each other on another level. What a great experience. Also they helped me in the gardens and showed a lot of interest in organic agriculture, food preservation and different alternative lifestyles.
This was 4 years ago and every here and then I get some encouraging messages from my former volunteers on how they changed their lives and perception on what is going on.
So now, having my own farm here in Austria, I continued this tradition and host folks at my place. And there is a big increase of youngsters (19-23 y/o) coming at my place, interested in different healing methods. From western medicine, TCM, Yoga, Reiki, Quantum Healing and what else. Most of them have a clear vision what they would like to do...to go and heal themselves first and then help others and also assisst the environment and the planet. But with such a straight forward attitude that leaves me wondering and thinking. Coincidence? I dont think so.
So, going back to the title of this thread: I have a lot of trust in our younger generation-hell, somtimes there are only 5 years younger and show a lot of responsibility and maturity. We had such a great deal on exchanging informations, energy and ideas.
Creation works perfect, so I dont fear the future!
