This was not the first or last CIA intervention its been going on for decades with
the help of other western intelligence agencies. These imperial meddling have
always gone on and still are. The US were supposed to different and as we know
that's all 'Hogwash' from the day Europeans landed in the new world and displaced
the natives ....Of Course the Aztec's , Incas and others were also imperial powers !

CIA admits involvement in Iran coup, 60 years on19 August 2013 Last updated at 23:25 BST

Sixty years ago on Monday, a coup in Iran shook the Middle East.

The democratically elected Iranian prime minister at the time, Dr Mohammad Mossadeq,
was overthrown, paving the way for Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to return to the country
as the Shah. Now for the first time, the CIA has officially acknowledged its own role in
the coup, releasing documents that detail America's hand in the events.

BBC Persian's Khashayar Joneidi reports from Washington.

1953 Iran Coup - CIA Finally Admits Role

"Sixty years ago this Monday, on August 19, 1953, modern Iranian history took a
critical turn when a U.S.- and British-backed coup overthrew the country's prime
minister, Mohammed Mossadegh. The event's reverberations have haunted its
orchestrators over the years, contributing to the anti-Americanism that accompanied
the Shah's ouster in early 1979, and even influencing the Iranians who seized the U.S.
Embassy in Tehran later that year. But it has taken almost six decades for the U.S.
intelligence community to acknowledge openly that it was behind the controversial
overthrow. Published here today -- and on the website of the National Security Archive,
which obtained the document through the Freedom of Information Act -- is a brief
excerpt from The Battle for Iran, an internal report prepared in the mid-1970s by an in-
house CIA historian...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Sixty years ago, Iranian military officers backed by U-S and British intelligence
agencies initiated a coup d'état. The coup toppled Iran's first democratically-elected
government and its popular prime minister, Mohammad Mosadegh.

Anyways what is this CIA honesty week?
Or is this another example of the escalating infighting between various factions of the bastards in power?

I think this represents the growing power of the “third element”: us, the AltMedia bloggers and whistleblowers. And as such, “we” are why the PTB are scared spitless: they never factored a truly free press/internet into their equation.

As an example, I am truly enjoying the comment trail of “Reader Picks”/Most Popular on the tactically buried NYTimes story about Miranda’s detention and questioning at Heathrow, the story suppression of which is an ugly/exemplary show of MSM media ubercontrol. My comment about the story’s play here: http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?59919-Edward-Snowden-the-whistleblower-behind-the-NSA-surveillance-revelations&p=717545&viewfull=1#post717545

But the comment trail readers still get it: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/21/world/europe/britons-question-whether-detention-of-reporters-partner-was-terror-related.html?ref=world&_r=0

The “Reader Picks” of best comments are wildly opposed to the more uber-controlled and PTB-supportive “NYT Picks” (which their website serves up first…hah hah…). But the general reader is getting it. The tenor of the average reader comment is getting far more “aware”. And the controlled press is frantically trying to keep a lid on it.

We are making good progress. I love it. Pass the popcorn, friends.

Cheers,

Selene

I'm using Facebook again, to disseminate this type of info, after years of boycotting.
But as a medium for getting news out to people, from all the divers pockets of society, it is unmatched.

Actually, it is standard practice for them to "declassify" this stuff after 40 or 50 years because...

a. No one can do anything about it.

b. The brain-dead and deluded lemmings think it's ancient history and the perps are all dead now... and of course the new crop of clandestine thugs are "reformed", and their latest targets deserve what they get because they're out to get the "Infidels".because they just hate our "freedom" so much...

I've tried that, but who besides my alleged "friends" (who never comment on anything I post, no matter how much of a bombshell it is) will see my posts?
