I find it pretty amazing that you really dont hear the term abductee anymore but rather contactee and experiencer. Most of the abduction stuff was dis info created to push fear and hysteria in the field. You bring up an interesting point - definitely something worth discussing. I'm surprised no one has replied to this post.

Here's some food for thought. It's often been reported that aliens that have dealings with humans, the so-called "experiencers" or "abductees", are quite adept in the mental environment (psychic abilities). Many people have reported losing track of time/memories. What if they are abducting people for their own purposes, and then making them feel as though they had some tremendously meaningful spiritual experience as a means of hiding what happened?

I doubt the aliens want to start a worldwide anti-alien movement on earth, and yet is this not precisely what would happen if it was common knowledge that human beings were abducted without their consent, sometimes subject to cruel experiments? Using their psychic abilities, they could easily make people feel as though they had some wonderfully positive experience. Ironically, such people might even become advocates for the aliens.

Of course, I can't prove that this perspective is the more correct one to have, just the same as experiencers cannot prove that they have not been mentally manipulated by foreign forces. However, if nature and history prove anything, it's that it's wise to remain cautious and skeptical - especially when dealing with a more advanced intelligence. We owe it to our species to remain extremely skeptical of the alien agenda. I certainly feel that way!
