Brain Cells (really small), Universe (really big) both look similar. I was inspired years ago, by a very special Cell. Very special, indeed. (Wink, Wink) :-)

Then I saw these two pictures on the Internet one day, and it all came together. I can't say I was the first on Earth to come up with this, and for sure not in existence, but it was originally thought by little ol' me. I hope you enjoy.

The final conclusion is that all of us are living inside a mouse brain.
(Especially those of us who are owned by our cats)

I used to have this picture stored for the special occasion that someone wanted to find out the real absolute truth of existence....
Then I lost it to a computer virus.
So, thanks for the reminder.
But in your neuron picture they forgot to mention that those are mouse neurons.

Ulli, lololololololol. I so needed that. A little after this became a little more widely known NASA released something a whole lot more ugly. Competing views? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GJm9xpB18uE/Ue4R0diBTDI/AAAAAAAAD84/muUpjnkX9Hs/s320/known+universe.jpg

Oh, and from the NASA site too. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/planck/multimedia/pia16873.html

I wish NASA scientists would devote their time on finding solutions to that that humongous plastic garbage dump in the center of the Pacific Ocean. Which is what their pictures of the universe reminded me of.
What an imagination!
Those people who made up those images have obviously never looked at a single Hubble photograph, or they might have come up with something a bit less of an eye sore.

Ulli: I like you! Here, that reminded me of a joke:

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were going camping. They pitched their tent under the stars and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes woke Watson up and said: "Watson, look up at the sky, and tell me what you see." Watson replied: "I see millions and millions of stars." Holmes said: "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson replied: "Well, if there are millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets, it’s quite likely there are some planets like Earth out there. And if there are a few planets like Earth out there, there might also be life." And Holmes said: "Watson, you idiot, it means that somebody stole our tent."

It's a good down to earth joke, which has been making the rounds on Avalon. My guess is that is has something to do with a story Bill Ryan told, about that time he was up in the Himalayas in a tent,
...well, he might tell it again, if we ask him nicely.

"The final conclusion is that all of us are living inside a mouse brain." All jokes aside, I am a big fan of our Creators. I'm like an ant trying to understand humans, maybe a bigger comparison. Anyway. Nice to make friends. :-)

one of my favorite qoutes

'Life is infinitely stranger then anything with which the mind of man could invent.' - Sherlock Holmes

They are composite images, obviously created to look similar, those two shots have been around for a very long time.

Apologies, I haven't read everything on this thread as I have to rush out... but i thought you would like this link... it gives a decent example of the scale of the universe... and the other way round.

I guess a lot of you will bookmark this link, very educative. Send it to your kids and to skeptics, it'll make them think.
