Religion Against Religion. Denomination Against Denomination.
All Ploys To Keep The Masses In Bondage And Fighting An Invisible Enemy.

Webster's Collegiate Dictionary traces the word back to an old Latin word religio meaning "taboo, restraint." A deeper study discovers the word comes from the two words re and ligare. Re is a prefix meaning "return," and ligare means "to bind;" in other words, "return to bondage." Do you still want some of that "old-time religion"?

TruthSeekah,

Granted, brother, there is great deal of 'religious garbage' out there to entangle oneself with, and the Bible actually points this out.

James 1:26-27 (KJV)

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Here, we find that mankind can either fool himself with a 'vain religion', ( verse 26),....or.....find, ( and adopt), a 'pure and undefiled religion'.

It will take a 'hungry and honest heart' to differentiate between the 'two religious experiences', which in turn will lead you to it's doorsteps, my friend.

'Pure religion' STILL exists!,.....and isn't hard to find, ( at all),....'if'.....the heart is 'hungry and honest'

God Bless,.....your brother, friend, and servant,.......kreagle

ligāre

1. tie, bind
2. bandage, wrap around
3. unite

So I always took religion or re-ligare as reunite, like the true pupose of any religion being to reconnect or reunite with our God-self.

It's almost like you can interpret everything into everything, if you want to... :)
