Comeos stats show a drop in the purchasing of food products in Belgium. It's said to be the lowest level since World War 2.
I think Belgians aren't actually eating less and they just get their food from right over the border, because it's cheaper or because they're sending out a message. Just like they've been doing for fuel, electronics and other consumer items for years now.
The only problem with my theory is, our neighbouring countries are showing a similar trend. :confused:
