Anyone who lives in California (as I do) is aware of this probability, along with a possibility of the big one hitting somewhere inland California. Or, one of our numerous volcanoes blowing ala Mt. St. Helens in Oregon.

There are predictions almost daily about the BIG one - and eventually, it will probably happen, I'm not naive about it. But one is more likely to cross over in an auto accident.
