Youtube suggested this to me, just when I needed it:

Tn9-Ygto9yw

My mom called letting me know her father might not make it out of the hospital, right at the point he is talking about death.

A lot of the stuff he talks about I feel directly addresses some of the thoughts and feelings that this thread evokes (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?63990-When-Will-They-Land&p=739444&viewfull=1#post739444). Especially this part: So the bodhisattva saves all beings, not by preaching sermons to them, but by showing them that they are delivered, they are liberated, by the act of not being able to stop changing. You can't hang on to yourself. You don't have to try to not hang on to yourself. It can't be done, and that is salvation.

And maybe the very end, where he mentions the importance of “the thunderous silence”, helps explain why some new members never post (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?63925-Suggestions-for-improving-the-user-friendliness-of-the-Forum-interface--and-why-do-New-Members-sometimes-feel-daunted--&p=737833&viewfull=1#post737833)—they just wanted to be a part, and posting ain’t their bag.

If you prefer to read, here is the link to a transcript (though I do suggest listening, his voice and his laughter, are delightful):

Im down loading it to listen to later Donk.
While its not easy at times--- muscles are developed by lifting heavy weight-- same applies to spiritual growth.
This world with all its challenges is the perfect school for the evolution of "personal" consciousness.
When we graduate there is no need for further incarnation here.

Best wishes
Chris

Alan Watts is awesome. Look forward to watching and listening over the weekend. It is true, we can't change the world TODAY. That's what surrender to God means. It's like fighting the whole Universe and you cannot win. But, we can envision a different world and see those changes come to pass. That is our free will. The willingness to allow what is and to intend for a better tomorrow. Many valid experiments have shown that intention can and does influence the world, but it is not instantaneous and requires focus and INTEGRITY. So give up fighting what is and dedicate yourself to what can be.

I would have to disagree chris and I say this as someone who has graduated and chose to come back. I get asked every incarnation if "this is enough" or if I want to come back. I don't know exactly what I have said in other lives, but this life I told source not until every last brother and sister has made it. There are many of us who come back who don't have to be here. I find it beautiful that even though I have promised "until every brother and sister has made it back", source still asks me every incarnation knowing how taxing it can be. But I am in it for the long haul sort to speak. Oneness to me is not complete until every one is there and suffering stops, until then I will give up my graduation every single time. To me that's more than a valid reason to incarnate back here. I hope this doesnt come off as egotistical, I truly mean this from the bottom of my heart.

your brother,

Hi wishy
its a question of language.
When I say no need for further incarnations--- in that is the implication of choice.
I agree quite a few have come back at this time--- to help the rest.

I admire and respect that you have chosen to reincarnate my brother.

His two best books are "The Wisdom of Insecurity" and "This Is It" He was the first to point out to me that Christianity and Eastern Philosophy are fundamentally the same, I have kept that close to my belief system ever since. I guess the Satanic influences took over in the West though, institutionalizing and politicizing it, until the real core of it's spiritual aspect has been almost completely drowned out. (shame) Man can not live on bread alone...

Always so enriching to read these books, it just lifts you up.

I've been listening to Alan Watts' series for several months now... Always Good. Reinforces much of what I've Remembered, and it's nice to have a 'refresher' every once in a while.

Here's a few of my favorites:

I have a copy of Alan Watts: "This is It" published in '63 I think (falling apart but I want it get it re-bound or fixed) I think 4 essays of his - philosophy, but holy smokes, this guy contemplates some very deep stuff; consider the phrase "You Must Relax!" -- he'll examine this and pull it apart and tell you it is a joke phrase, a self contradiction. "Must" doing anything is in direct opposition to "relaxing" -- simple, but most would never pull apart phrases to this depth ... huge appreciation for the man. :)

Need Zen? Get Alan.

I am forever grateful to this man for the one phrase he used to always say "when you get the message, hang up the phone". He helped me walk away from the "tools" i was using for a long time. It helped me see that they were just a tool and that the real work had to begin. I also loved when he would talk about God, he would never really call it a name, he would hit a gong. Such a beautiful way to express it as there is no words for it. A beautiful soul, it saddens me that he was never really able to over come his attachment to alcohol. Its gets the best of us, it truly does. Such a death grip it has on many light workers. If it wasn't for Alan watts and Terrence mckenna, I dont know who I would be. Thanks for all of these, watching them again was like taking a stroll with an old friend. Such an awesome legacy he left...

I am like %75 through the op video, and a quote from a buddha at the gas pump interview
comes to mind.
"The bad news is you are forever falling, the good news is there is no floor.

Alan is one of the best out there. Crucial and wholly informative listening for those who can tune their ears. :)
