removing the fear factor...
Avalon is absolutely amazing in how so many of its members and readers are connected, spirits joining together and fighting battles in a realm unseen by the world
some might say it is manipulation, but that is the conscious mind, the decision is always up to the individual spirit, the vessel is along for the ride and doesn't get a vote...

It could just be a testing ground ;) (the internet, that is) ;) ;)
Ya, we're basically "outing" ourselves for all (good & bad guys) to see, whether it is here, Twitter or a letter to the Editor. I used to be worried about this, but now see how our exchanges are helping to open the eyes of good people. So worth it.
Scaring people (likely inadvertently on Avalon!) can be so counter productive ("for every action, there is a reaction..."); informing, the better route. So being thoughtful in how we frame what we put out there may be as important as the the actual info.

The Doom threads re: "Omg this is going to happen SOOON" are really bad for some people.
Threads that calmly offer discussion on "maybe this is how it could be" are not as scary.
People should make a distinction between "absolutism" and "discussion".
You know when you are dealing with a troll if they won't come back to their own thread, or if they can't change their mind on something.
However at times Avalon users do come into someone else's thread and try to derail it or make fun of it, or ask a question that is too technical.
For example, 9/11 threads are almost always victim to this kind of dismantling.
Thank you for calling a spade a spade, lol, I've been telling a lot of you guys this lately.
Don't feel like you have to keep it all inside.
The Founding Fathers fought really hard for us to have the right to Free Speech, Assembly, and Freedom of the Press.
Avalon is a great place where most of the people talk calmly (sometimes excited too) and there is only rarely trouble.
Most of the threads just scroll by without any drama. That is both good and bad -- it's hard to know what's important and what is not.
Perhaps we could recommend a tracking and rating system where people are able to give thumbs up or down to a thread and explain the reasoning for the vote.
ex: "Like" this thread because it's a.) technically informative, b.) spiritually uplifting, etc.
"Dislike" this thread because it's a.) youtube link and no description, b.) product of mental illness, etc.
LOL :)
The sorting system could also sort by forum and voter rating, username and voter rating, and subject etc.
it could be a really great thing to make a forum stand apart as a jewel.

Yesterday morning I woke up, then fell back into a shallow dream state while a radio show played in the next room. The man was talking about how to deal with an EMP and the breakdown of civilization. My husband was listening it for research and waiting for a kernel of something we hadn't heard many times before. Fear porn. So I fall back asleep and had a horrible dream where I was in some castle on a hill, in a tower, and suddenly there were these foot long snakes falling on me, all over me and there were a few people with me, maybe 2 children as well. Nice people. Anyway the snakes are falling and I'm aware enough to consider that they're actually not THAT scary but that I'm caught in a dream and I have to figure how to get out of it. So then I'm in car, driving in the night and I pull up to my old middle school. there's a dark man on the corner and he reaches into my car and takes the steering wheel. we fight over it. more darkness and battle and feeling immobilized by some force where I can't move my legs and now arms. Next thing I know is the concept of rape. Then I see a woman's body on the sidewalk and the man has raped her and then he shoots her dead. Jesus. I wake up in the worst mood. totally traumatized and in shock. I tell my husband that I can't deal with those radio shows anymore. He explains was listening for something. I work through the day to get out of the storm in my head. Finally went swimming in a salt water pool and it was gone.
Today is much better. Thanks for this post. You raise so many issues that are amazing in their tool for us to aperture our awareness of what is going on. this testing bed of interface modalities. rules? what is power? what is manipulation and how do we consider free will? how do we co-create reality through this very interesting tool that incorporates our minds connecting to our fingers, dancing with crystals and metals, into the Ether, connecting to many crystals, many metals, many souls.
This is Avalon. Like Israel, it is a state of being, a state of mind, a state of transcendence. Ether is respected as a divine tool. We are all painters of ether whether we are aware or not. And the more specific you are, the sharper will be your experience. There is no time and that is the freedom. True mind is always on. Discernment is like tuning, resonating, why all the disciplines are helpful to this goal of thinking for oneself and knowing that one must work hard to listen well and decipher.
I highly recommend CHANGE YOUR FUTURE THROUGH TIME OPENINGS by Malet Garnier in reference to this subject. He won the Physics Prize for his formula of Past, Present and Future. Premise: in a dualistic reality we find ourselves in, we are divided into shadow and divine self. The shadow is us here. The divine self lives in our immediate past and creates our future in our dream time. One night of shadow = 1.666 of divine days. When the shadow merges with the divine self before sleep, and tells the divine self what it desires (he recommends saying "thy will be done" and letting the divine self create an even better future because it can see all) ...if this is not done, the shadow body is without its shield of free will, and leaves its body open to vampiric elements that then play in the dreaming, creating futures that are not necessarily in the best interest of the host body. The forgetting abandonment of free will creates havoc.

All communications are a form of mind control as it forces one to perceive (think). Internal fortitude is the only defense against loosing control of your mind. Being aware of deceit (form of mind control), is just one such way. It is the receptor of any communications that induces the emotion of fear as most communications are neutral until received. IMHO

Aspects of this thread, namely the burning away of illusion... reminds me of the foci of the work of Byron Katie. My daughter gave me a book of hers recently, called 'Who Would You Be Without Your Story?'.
from the books sleeve:
"This book is a collection of fifteen dialogues with Byron Katie that occurred throughout the United States and Europe. Some of the people who worked with Katie had painful illnesses, others were lovelorn or in messy divorces, some were simply irritated with a co-worker or worried about money. What they all had in common was a willingness to question the painful thoughts which are the true cause of all suffering. In every case, we see how Katie's acute mind and fierce kindness helped each person dismantle for him- or herself what was felt to be unshakeable reality."
Investigating our judgements about issues such as death, money, health, our body, our addictions and even our own self criticisms... leads us to realize that every stressful moment we experience is a gift that points us to our own freedom. Those of us attracted to Avalon are fundamentally no different to anyone else who trys to change the world in order to be happy, but this never works, because it approaches the problem backward. If we do some earnest inquiry into what and why we project and judge, our neighbour, the status quo, ourselves.. we are then in a position to pin-point the true irritant and clear the lense.
This way our manipulations may dilute in a soluable base of self-knowing..

It's worth remembering that all of us are able to be fooled. No matter how intelligent or insightful. I remind myself of this constantly.

Some [in my opinion and insight] are even consciously manipulating and empowering the unconscious ones who do the manipulating, and this borders on evil when in a certain direction. The opposite holds true though, that there are good and wise ones who are around to neutralize all of this, and combat it to the degrees that they can within certain laws and rules they've been taught or discovered.
Yeah...Sometimes, people who know better accept to support a lie because it allegedly empowers people.
However, I know one thing; One cannot be empowered through lies, no matter how beautiful or positive they may sound.
You know, using the right tools, it's not really hard to convince a bunch of people they can fly or deflect bullets with their thoughts...They will feel extremely empowered...However, when the time comes and they need to put their skills to test during a real life threatening situation, will it work?
The only truly liberating and empowering thing is the truth, and people don't really want to buy it, because they know, consciously or not, that it will wake them up, including all the pain, not working as an effective anesthetic as most people want it to.
That's why it's so easy to manipulate people, I guess. People are willing to do all sorts of things in order to "feel good", to make the pain go away...There's a whole market dedicated to it out there, and it's thriving.
So yeah, at one side we have people who are always ready to be manipulated, and at the other we have other people who give them what they want. Both of them are wrong, obviously...But who's worse?
Here on PA those who have eyes to see are able to observe all these dynamics...It's fascinating, from a strictly scientific point of view, but very humanely frustrating.

I once heard a story about when the Native Americans first saw one of our great ships coming to shore, they couldn't really see it or make any sense of it till it got really close, or something. Once a few of them could make it out, they must have had all kinds of theories as to what it was. Where if there had been one European on that shore, he would've seen it miles away and known what it was. Just a parting thought.
Could it have been that the Native American Indians really couldn't make sense of the greed of the peoples on the ships not the ships themselves. I do know that the Native American Indians enjoyed sitting on the shores watching Columbus discovering America. History has more than one perspective. (Back to subject of thread)
Peace!
