We are all looking fior a positive way to look at the future and a poeaceful solution to our energy demads on the planet. I wanted to get your opinions of the E Bike revolution taking place right now.

I was interested in getting one and developing it my self recently and in doing some research i see that the E Bike Revolution is well under way with top car manufacturers like Audi , Porche , Lexus and Mercedes benz taking a serious approach to this relatively new kid on the block.

The question is would you ride one ?

I guess it makes sense however limited they are presently .. From what i can see they have a range between 20 and 80 kms and speeds average at 25 kph up to about 70 which is travelling.

The obvious back lash of government whiners wanting to put a cork in this potential game changer has made me take a serious look at even selling my car.. and just going E !

Check out some of them in action , the one i chose to show is an extreme model by KTM , for those who havent heard of these guys they are one of the top motorbike manufacturers .. now looking seriously at the e bike at an alternative to our peterol guzzling 2 wheel monsters.

the Audi Version is this one ( dont mind the crappy music )

Iimmagine there are many more examples. My question is would you consider riding one and do you think it would be practical ?

It is not just bikes... have a look at this: http://www.tollgroup.com/media-release/toll-switches-on-australias-first-all-electric-truck

Here is a guy who has a 100% electric car, a Mitsubishi iMiev and charges it from his off grid solar - zero fuel costs and many km between services, it has limitations, but they are all workable for most local driving. These have not taken off well in Australia, but it shows what is possible. http://forums.energymatters.com.au/alternative-vehicles/topic5388.html

I was looking into getting a brammo electric motorcycle this year. The only draw back I saw was being able to fix my own bike. I love turning wrenches and rebuilt my 91 ex500 that I bought that was not running for 10 years. Someone told me the diagnostic tool for a bike like this (brammo) was 5 grand as they are such a small company and dont make that many bikes. But then again I am in for a learning curve, I never worked on a bike before this ex500, I got it as a project to help me stop drinking years ago. Something to work on after work, it was fun and a success. Maybe I need to step the learning curve up. I bet there is no clymer manuals also, which is a bummer. I needed that 100%. I definitely see one in my future when I grow the balls but fixing my own things is really important to me for some reason. Its gratifying. Soon enough.

Check out the brammo empluse, pretty sweet bike and the technology has come a long way in the last few years.

Yes i would definitely ride one... But then i already ride pushbikes and motorbikes.

I made a little e-scooter for a friend who lost his licence years ago it was quite successful. I used a cheap chinese scooter as the base. Then built a new chassis, tidied up the loom and soldered all the wires, and made sure everything ran straight and true.
These mods at least doubled the performance.

I would love to do a similar thing but with a brushless 3 phase motor and Li-ion batteries, It could be put together for around $1000

These new Motorcycle style e-bikes look awesome, I would love to try one out!

2 things i don't like... No noise... "Loud pipes save lives"
and why only 60hp? if your going to build a sports bike, give it at least 90hp so its as fast as stuff from the early 80's... Im not going to pay superbike prices for something that struggles to beat a commuter. It also looks a bit heavy, but i put up with early 80's superbikes so i could put up with this...

Yes, if I lived in the city. I prefer riding horses, and if I rode an ebike I would need a trolley of some sort to take the groceries home!

I love riding a two wheeler. But being emf sensitiv I am skeptic to hybrid cars and such. Some of them generate LOTS of emf. with other words driving the car or bike is unhealthy. and do we really need to buy this old technology. with technology in general, they make "new" technology and sell to the masses. with "new" i mean technology that is new compared to the ooooold type of fuel engines which is in most cars today. So this is new in a way, yes. but is it the best sollution? or is it just a way of making money before the next new thing comes on the market ? this is a changer for the human collective consciousness. I don't have to tank fuel.?? whats next ?
positiv things about this is that the air in citys gets cleaner, and nobody making money on gas :)
Negative things might be somebodys balls get fried riding the brammo bike . LOL
I want a horse

If you look into the 'technology' behind Grebennikov's platform, it uses natural items (some beetle wing casings), and a small static electric charge to make them work...

And, the Keshe Foundation also touts the promise of 'flying cars'....

All in due time.

But, First... We must Awaken from our Delusion of Separateness.

If not an ebike then perhaps something like this...

Watch the bit where he actually drives it fast, his reaction is funny.

It doesn't look like it's meant to be of value to families or older people or handicapped people. But it does look like fun.
