The last lunare eclipse of 2013 wil be on October 18th-19th... a "blood moon"....eeeek! :)

Lunar Eclipse On October 18 2013 — Penumbral Lunar Eclipse On Friday

On the night of Friday October 18, 2013, a penumbral lunar eclipse will be visible to those in Europe, Africa, the Americas, and parts of Asia — with the best show being available to those in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the eastern part of North/South America.

A Penumbral lunar eclipse is when the Moon passes through the “faint” penumbral part of the Earth’s shadow — you can expect to see a notable darkening/reddening of the Moon as it passes through the shadow. The red tint that the Moon possesses during such eclipses is due to the fact that as the Sun’s light is filtered through the Earth’s atmosphere much of the “blue light” is eliminated, leaving only the reddish hues.

Maximum eclipse will occur at exactly 23:51 UTC — with the full-duration of the eclipse being between the times of 21:51 UTC on October 18th and 01:50 UTC on October 19th. At maximum eclipse 76.5% of the Moon’s disk will be in the Earth’s penumbral shadow. Those in the US will be able to catch only the end of the eclipse — when the Moon rises at about 6pm EST the eclipse will already be in progress, as a result those in the US will have a hard time seeing much with the Sun still in the way. Those in Europe and Africa, though, will experience the eclipse during dark late night hours, and will subsequently get a much better show.

Here is one astrologers interpretation: (sounds good to me)

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse
Friday, October 18th @ 7:38pm ET/4:38pm PT

This is the time of year when we truly enjoy the abundance nature has to offer. We need to translate that gift into our everyday lives. This full Moon/Lunar eclipse is all about abundance. It is the abundance that surrounds us. Your view has to shorten for you to appreciate all that you actually have. The Moon is offering a challenge. The Moon is in a void period for over 8 hours as soon as the full Moon/Lunar eclipse begins. Use this void time to think. Be grateful for what is abundant in your life.

Give your heart time to rule your mind. In this way positive energy can restore your faith in your ability to manifest. It’s not a time to make a wish list. It’s a time to be thankful for what you have and what is to come in the future. Like the autumn season, you are in a period of ‘reaping’ the harvest. It’s the harvest of all you have planted.

Although you not SEE this eclipse, you will FEEL it. You are sensitized. And, if you open your mind and heart, you will feel a ripple of strong energy that only an Aries Moon can provide. Follow your instinct. Allow excitement into your life. The Moon that follows on Saturday morning will connect this high energy to the earth. Get out and get in touch with the world around. Visit the beach, a garden, the garden section of your local home improvement center; touch a real plant or a tree, sit on the grass. Do something that reminds you of this tactile, rich earth we inhabit.

Namaste,

Thank you so much for this posting.

For the next three days, they are calling for cloudy and rainy weather in my location in Ontario, Canada, however I am most certainly going to make a pot of tea, fill a thermos bottle up with some good steamy tea, pack a few snacks, and find a quite spot out in the country side and see if I can observe the night sky.
It would be fun to view the Lunar Eclipse.

It is also a passion from time to time for me to get out and just enjoy the night sky. The stars, the clouds, the sound of the wind blowing the leaves or branches on the trees.
The odd, alien space ship passing by, as well as enjoying wishing on falling stars.

It can be wonderfully romantic to take a close friend as well.

I generally will take some blankets to wrap ourselves with while we find a spot to recline and look upwards towards our heavens.
Earth is a wonderful place to experience :high5:.

They are clouding up the sky so "you won't see it." I believe that "little solar system is visible, and in America, there are a few kookoos flying around the nest with guns and panic attacks of fear.

Hang tight people, they are playing this till the last minute on America, but the rest of the world, can't be shut up, or out.
