IS THE discovery of rare "sea serpents" off the coast of California at the weekend a sign of an impending disaster?

Carcasses of two of the sea snake-like creatures, of 5.5m and 4.2m in length respectively, were discovered washed up along the state's coast last week.

According to Japanese folklore the so-called 'monsters of the deep' rise to the surface of the ocean and beach themselves to warn of a coming earthquake, CBS Los Angeles reports.

In the months before the Fukushima earthquake disaster, over a dozen slender oarfish washed ashore or were caught by fisherman on the country's northern coast near the quake's epicentre.

"Japan is bracing itself after dozens of rare giant oarfish - traditionally the harbinger of a powerful earthquake - have been washed ashore or caught in fisherman's nets," the UK's Daily Telegraph reported at the time.

The March 11 2011 earthquake and tsunami caused more than 15,000 deaths, according to Japanese emergency agencies.

The damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant went into meltdown.

Scientists, however, disagree with the ancient fable and say there is no scientific relationship between sightings and seismic activity.

"It's probably just a coincidence," Rick Feeney, a zoologist at the US Natural History museum said.

PS - Now we have the MSM playing (Conspiracy Theorist)...:faint:

Well, I must admit (Not Often) they are spot on with this prediction.

Get ready California, there's gonna be a 'Hell of a lot of Shaken Going On' and its not far away either.

Me bones are telling me that we have a (HUGE) event coming earth's way, which will make every other disaster look like a total cakewalk!!!

:sorry:

See, I knew it because just like my book, I heard it within. I didn't educate myself in geological studies. It said: "the waters below are churning slow." I guess churning being energy to melt or thicken for butter, but energy just the same.

I ask that Margie Baker in CA survives this and her years of nurturing wisdom, be a part in healing other's minds. Let her be safe.

If the earthquake correlation is correct, then a) Fukushima must have been a natural disaster after all, and b) either there are very few oarfish off the Californian coast, or the coming earthquake is going to be much smaller than Fukushima.

I hope they also test the Oarfish for radiation sickness.

Let's just say that if anything like that were to happen, it would probably benefit the USG significantly. (Especially if something happened to California.)

Oh ouch -- I was hoping we were just telling old wives tales, but I tend to believe a lot of CBS > CNN

A Japanese guy commented to the effect of the information in the OP recently, that yes indeed, even the common people in Japan know the correlation between finding these fish about and experiencing a quake of historical significance.

That really creeps me out.

I am in no real hurry to see CA get hit -- personally I think Seattle would be better LOL

just kidding just kidding..... but Seattle did burn itself down in 1890s and raise up a whole bunch of Freemason skyscrapers and ****.

I feel sorry for the fish and whales and dolphins who don't get any warning other than their face blown inside out when an undersea quake is too close.

Anyone hearing booms or cracks or rumbles while submerged should be sharing that with the media!!

Here's a real genius explanation by an "expert"!

Deaths of two giant oarfish may be linked, scientists say
One expert says the most likely cause was a current that carried the oarfish from still waters into a near-shore, more turbulent area, which they aren't adapted to surviving in.
http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-1022-oarfish-20131022,0,995333.story

So, basically, these two VERY RARE oarfish, well, just happened to get lost at the same time? lol! because a CURRENT carried them from STILL WATERS???? sheesh, turbulence killed them because they are not adapted to turbulence?????

Wow, just ask an expert!

Japanese Fish Predicts Earthquakes?

by Disinfogreg on March 11, 2010 in News
If it’s well known that animals have a heightened perception of developing weather patterns, this would be no exception, via motherboard.tv:
Japanese Fish

Japan is bracing itself for bad times after scores of the usually rare, giant Oarfish have washed ashore and been caught in coastal fisherman’s nets. The sightings started after the ‘quake in Chile and the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan. The rash of tectonic shifting around the Pacific “Ring of Fire” is causing concern that Japan is next, and these gigantor fish aren’t helping.

The Oarfish is traditionally known as a messenger fish from the sea gods, and it’s tidings are usually grim. The fish can grow up to five metres in length and usually found at depths of 1, 000 ft. Long and slender with a dorsal fin that runs the length of it’s body, the fish resembles a kind of steam-rolled snake.

According to folklore, the fish will come ashore and beach itself to warn of an impending earthquake and there are scientific theories that bottom-dwelling fish may very well be susceptible to movements in seismic fault lines and act in uncharacteristic ways in advance of an earthquake – but experts here are placing more faith in their constant high-tech monitoring of the tectonic plates beneath the surface

Yes, dead fish, specifically species which live on very deep regions of the ocean, may be a sign of submarine volcanic eruptions which are common companions to earthquakes.

Those eruptions emit all sorts of poisonous substances, most commonly sulfur, which consequently kills the local aquatic life.

However, only two dead oarfish are not enough to achieve a solid conclusion. If there are more cases like this in the near future, then that's something to worry about.

It's better to increase the monitoring of such occurrences, though.

These two dead oar fish, especially their size is enough to raise my eyebrows and wonder. Gonna be keepin my eyes peeled to see if there are more signs like this poppin on the news. This is a bit more rare and odd compared to a beached whale or two in my opinion.

This is a bit farther north, but basically following the same fault line.

Sudden disappearance of sardines has serious economic and ecological effects on the B.C. coast (http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/Sudden+disappearance+sardines+serious+economic+ecological+effects+coast/9034961/story.html)

also, from the same article;

Jim Darling, a Tofino-based whale biologist with the Pacific Wildlife Foundation, said in an interview Monday that humpbacks typically number in the hundreds near the west coast of Vancouver Island in summer. They were observed only sporadically this year, including by the commercial whale-watching industry.

Humpbacks I think eat sardines, perhaps why they are scarce in that area....but this disappearance of sardines may somehow be related to the oarfish thing (a long shot but who knows)

This subject has bothered my for a while,
they can't find any signs of what killed the fish in their bodies?
Sudden changes in temperature, and pressure, seem likely to kill even whole schools.
In a case like that they might have lost their navigational sense because of something else.
Extreme shock waves from volcanoes might be another one, however in all cases I can think of there would be telltale signs.

They did and the result were negative.

All right... allow me to take the complete paranoid viewpoint and slip into the shoes of one of these bright kids hired by the NSA or ONI who comes up with how to "make Fukushima natural" after dropping a few nukes in the deep of the trench... "Let's zap a few oarfish! It's in their mythology: They'll believe it's all natural!"

Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that everyone is smiling in the photo/video while holding up this large, beautiful creature??

Seeing a hunter hold up a trophy buck that they killed while hiding up in a tree, covered in scent, using an advanced firearm, and smiling as they take a photo by their kill is enough for me. It is nothing more than an ego boost for people who proclaim hunting for sport as a test of manhood.

But this just strait up breaks my heart. Here we have this massive, beautiful creature that has been symbolized as something of a magic serpent in ancient and modern lore being nothing more to some people as a trophy "buck." The people holding up this beautiful creature do not seem to have any remorse for this creature, nor any concern for possible causes of death or what this could mean to impacts on humanity.

This is further proof that humanity has become so detached from nature and our spiritual connection with all life in this universe. Not only do we have wildlife being slaughtered in so many horrific ways, but now we have people who feel euphoria when a beautiful creature washes up dead on a shore. It breaks my heart.

News Flash: The people in the photo (DID NOT) kill this majestic creature...:nono:

Well, times a wasting. I'm off to do some :fish2:

As for real, positive results from dead fish after some nuckings...

... here is a follow up on sampling results following the "Boxing Day" tsunami over Sumatra:

From a post on Etheric Warriors:

EW psychics have seen it that way and so it's not a big surprise to any of you, but it may be some valuable confirmation to get some strong 3D indications that this may be true.

In September, when travelling in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, I talked to a friend who had gone to Aceh peninsula as a voluntary rescue worker. with the "Technisches Hilfswerk" a German technical asistance agency that has also sent strong contingents to New Orleans after the fake Hurricane flooding there.

This friend now, I will call him X for his protection, started noticing that dead bodies were floating and not decomposing and no sharks there to eat them. Sharks had been around the first few days and then disappeared, together with all other marine wildlife.

X and his team found that very strange and started taking water samples...

They were strongly radioactive. (Geiger counter and other more sophisticated gear are standard in the THW)

After the guys started raising some questions, they were suddenly called off their mission. Long before [their] scheduled departure.

At the airport back in Frankfurt they were called aside into a special chamber and interviewed by some nasty secret service types. All their samples, notes and Laptop computers were confiscated. They were forced to sign some kind of non disclosure paper.

We all know by now that a special contingent of 2000 US marines invaded Aceh province after that, who had strangely been ready on their ships in the vicinity and were heavily armed (and with no "humanitarian goods") to facilitate a part autonomy from Indonesia for that oil rich province. Wonder who created the "rebel movement" that these marines came to bring to power? Wonder who got the oil contracts?

Strangely enough, Joe Vialls, (www.joevialls.com (http://www.joevialls.com)) who was always well informed about and happy to expose such shenanigans suddenly died at his table shortly after the stories broke and after exposing that marine contingent that was on standby to exploit the chaos from this "natural disaster"...

Georg

Edit:

Since the "Joe vialls.com" site is long gone, read his series of articles regarding the Sumatra tsunami here: http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/esp_ciencia_tsunami14.htm

Edit: "Oarfish" are the "omen"... i.e. before any pressure wave could knock them out; that is, they show up dead as precursors to a tsunami-triggering EQ as happened prior to the Fukushima tsunami. Hence they wouldn't show any radioactive trace as compared to the dead fish showing up after a gigantic dynamite fishing...

Bingo! (IMO)

massive starfish die-off on west coast:

“[The starfish] seem to waste away, ‘deflate’ a little, and then just … disintegrate. The arms just detach, and the central disc falls apart. It seems to happen rapidly, and not just dead animals undergoing decomposition, as I observed single arms clinging to the rock faces, tube feet still moving, with the skin split, gills flapping in the current. I’ve seen single animals in the past looking like this, and the first dive this morning I thought it might be crabbers chopping them up and tossing them off the rocks. Then we did our second dive in an area closed to fishing, and in absolutely amazing numbers. The bottom from about 20 to 50 feet [6 to 15 meters] was absolutely littered with arms, oral discs, tube feet, gonads and gills … it was kind of creepy.”

Sorry, I like California just the way it is...

the oarfish are confused, normally when radiation leaks in the sea from underground volcanoes releasing pressure before a quake, but this time it was caused by a bunch a greedy baastrds too cheap to clean up their mess...

according to DARPA, via the project "Quantum Effects in Biological Environments",

scientists believe that NO manmade sensors will EVER exceed the sensitivity of animal senses,
as some animals can detect chemicals at like, 1ppb/1ppm -- not to mention other senses.
