NICE Systems in this company promo makes it sound so great, controlling everything and everybody, don't they? How much you bet that the NSA probably uses their services, too...?

Best watch this one while it is still up.

A private company bragging that its
high tech surveillance and data analysis
tools are just the thing to help break up
protests...

It looks like a spoof or a movie.
It's not. It's the real deal.

The corporate snitch gold rush

The world is a simple place.

If you make it profitable to do something, ambitious people without scruples will scurry to do it.

Is there money to be made turning young non-violent pot smokers into jail-able criminals?

Yes there is. The DEA pays a bounty to local cops for every bust they make.

The result? Lots of arrests.

Is there a profit in operating prisons?

You bet there - and the US has more people in jail than any other country in the world. 25% of the entire world's prison population.

How about spying on citizens and breaking up their lawful right to free speech and free assembly?

Who are the sleazoids behind this product?

Seven Israeli ex-army officers.

They realized the market for government vs government mayhem was too limited so they "refocused" their efforts on the snitch business.

NICE Systems specializes in "telephone voice recording, data security, and surveillance. As well as systems that analyse this recorded data."

Their shares are traded on NASDAQ and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange where it is part of the TA-25 Stock Index.
