Does what we SEE determine where we stand? Or does where we stand have much to do with what we SEE? Perhaps there is room for both. Take a four sided pillar. And four people, one on each side. Each side painted a different color. Those four persons can stand in the same place for all eternity and argue the color of that pillar. But if they move to the left or the right, a whole new view. No one is all right or all wrong. We circle that pillar and stop when we like what we see. Maybe this does not make sense but there is so much sniping going on about different belief systems. Bottom line is they are probably not so different as we think they are. One place to get back to. As many ways to get back there as there are travelers.
I think if we stand rock solid. Not ever wavering in our vision we cannot know the truth. That truth may be constant, but no one has all the pieces. A Huge jig saw puzzle. A shared endeavor. And we must do this without the benefit of a box top with a photo. A daunting responsibility .

Interesting question and an interesting analogy.
In an illusion, there can't be truth. Truth is an illusion, and illusions are not real. Right?:decision:

I used to know what was real and what was false. Now, my default position is, "I don't know." I don't know pretty much everything and anything. I have a lot of suspicions, but don't know.

Whenever one believes some thing, then any information contrary to that belief, by definition, must be false. Any "facts" investigated will be only those facts that support a prejudiced belief system.
For me, having suspicions of various magnitudes is the only way that allows truth to blossom without prejudice, and is the only way to keep an open mind.

Keep it simple.
And be open to all possibility.
[This works for me.]

Hello Christine L' and welcome to Avalon!
It's a good analogy, and I am guessing there are a lot here who would agree with you. where you stand and what you see are interlinked I would think. How about adding another dimension, 'who you are', your beingness. I think I am a mover, no really fixed 'opinions', but I do 'believe' we are moving into a space which will allow us to 'know' and not just 'believe' and I think as you say there are many paths. I 'know' I have been down some dead ends (for me) and will at some point regret the time I have wasted, but hey that was my path.
I understand this earth to be a free-will place, and that's a real challenge for some it seems. Avalon is a pretty good place to excercise that skill and as far as I can see 'sniping' is kept to a minimum by great mods and awesome members.

G'Day Christine,
I'm a great believer that our (Creator) will help guide (Everyone) who bothers to listen, not only seek out their own (Truth) but also on a (Universal Level) as well...
I believe (Truth) is the very essence of Spirituality...
Spirituality = Truth & Truth = Spirituality
Now just (Think) about that statement 'above' and let it sink in...:yes4:
e.g. Every single person on the Planet has at one point in time, asked themselves the age old question...
Why am I here, what is my life's purpose..?
Answer: To seek out and find ones (Own Truth)...:yes4:
Ya see if we are (ALL) connected in some way, shape or form? There is no way on a (Universal Consciousness) level our individual uniqueness bares (Any) impact of leading us (ALL) towards (Universal Truth)...
The overall (Truth Awakening) as you know is happening as we speak, how quickly we achieve that is the 'Question'..?
WARNING: I'm going to be really cheesy now...
In the infamous words of Rachel Hunter...
"It won't happen overnight, but it (WILL) happen..!" :)

PS - :sorry: for that...:noidea:

I understand where you were going with this, but you've gotta remember just (1) thing...
The (TRUTH) is the (TRUTH) regardless of our individuality, indifferences &/or belief system...:yes4:

Move to the right or left. Bend and grow. Stand too firmly and we break.

I think because we have freewill we are permitted to acknowledge our own truth at any one time in our spiritual development- if we feel eating meat is good for us then that is our truth and we are innocent, if we feel that eating meat will lower our vibration then that is our truth. It is only when we hold to a truth and deny it- that we slow our development .

Dubito ergo sum! You doubt, therefore you exist. And if you know that, you can know at least one proposition which is true! And if one true proposition can exist, others can! WOOT!
