Dear all,
I'm Jena of Lifechanyuan. I'm living in a spiritual community which is called the Second Home of Lifechanyuan (http://www.the2ndhome.org/)in Yunnan, China. Currently our community has three branches scattering in Anning, Chuxiong and Lincang of Yunnan Province, and whole area is around 145 acres. And total permanent residents are 150 including 14 children across branches.

Recently, something unhappy happened in the 3rd branch of our community, I want to share the story here and hope any of you can give us some kind suggestion, thank you very much and may God bless all of us:
Urgent Notice: The 3rd branch of the Second Home Faces Another Disaster

Someone very powerful and with high authority likes the third branch of Second Home and wants to take it. But the beautiful community is the result of hard work of many brothers and sisters. In order to get the place, local Village Committee firstly came to notify us without any written documents or notices that the government is going to take over the place. We therefore complied and also raised reasonable requests according to China National Land Management Law. The Village Committee then agreed to compensate us for the loss, but because the total amount of compensation is far too small to cover our loss, which is less than 50,000RMB per person (including the houses we built on the land, some facilities, furniture, trees and crops, etc.), we refused to move.
I want to emphasize here that the 3rd branch has been maintaining a very good relationship with its neighbours within the last years, and we never had any quarrels or misunderstandings. This “government requisition order” is actually not the intention of local villagers or the Village Committee, but from the “command” of someone with high authority.
Because we refused to accept the deal, the road leading to the 3rd branch was dug, and the power and network cable were cut, someone we do not know tried to trap us in the community, however, we managed to survive under such conditions for the last six months. Maybe because they found that such difficulties could not make us compromise, they sent again local Forest Security Officer to inquiry, however, those houses we built did not occupy the forest land nor farm land, Instead we modified the original chicken and pig coops to residential houses, so they did not find anything inappropriate.
A few days ago, we heard from a source that someone said when drinking with others “let us set a fire, and send these people (community members in the 3rd branch) away in the name of arson”. We therefore strengthened our 24-hour safe guard and cut all weeds on the nearby hills to avoid the spreading of possible fire.
One pressure after another, today a few people from local Village Committee came to the 3rd branch with the leader Mr. Li - the deputy security, who notified me by phone that the Village Committee had the right to claim back the property which belongs to them, therefore I should go to talk with them on this matter tomorrow. I told him that I was in Lincang and was very busy recently and would not be able to make it tomorrow. (It takes 7 hours to drive from Lincang to the 3rd branch). “I’ve called and notified you, if you don’t come, it means you are willing to give up the place”, said him.
It seems we are doomed and the 3rd branch is going to be taken by force in the name of the Village Committee.
We can do nothing when facing barbarism.
China claims itself now a law-governed society, but let us wait and see if this is true.
The 3rd branch of the Second Home is a quite absolute communistic community. Realizing communism is the ultimate ideal of CPC (Communist Party of China). Whether this community is able to survive in China will prove the quality of CPC.
We have signed a contract. If anyone violates the contract terms and wants to expel us by force, this proves that the power of stronger is able to win in China.
Facing local power politics, we are very weak. However, no matter how we are treated, we will still trust the truth and insist on civilization. We will not appeal, protest, fight, blaspheme or take other extreme approaches. We will try our best to survive, if not, we leave everything to Tao.
Trust in the Greatest Creator! Trust Kindness! And trust that Tao governs everything!

The Subsequent Report of the Event of the 3rd Branch

I hereby report what had happened yesterday in the 3rd branch of the Second Home, to make sure that everything happened in the Second Home will be made transparent and public and the government and the society can understand and monitor what is going on here.
I arrived at the 3rd branch 2:30pm yesterday, and started the meeting with those villagers at 3:00pm. 20 villagers came with the secretary and the manager of the Village Committee, and police officers were present as observers.
Firstly, the atmosphere of the meeting was friendly. Village representatives did not talk and behave in any extreme way, and I felt quite relieved. Police officers also came to ensure the safety and order of this meeting and to avoid any possible irrational behaviours; there were some other officers from government present to understand and investigate the matter.
The secretary of the Village Committee first talked about the difficulties the people of Shaowan Village faced, the housing issue of this village was getting more severe because of the ever increasing population; as a result, the arable land becomes less. Therefore, they wanted to take back the property our community currently occupies. Representatives of the village then raised some requests, to sum up in short, it is a currently autonomic village, and the contract signed between the 3rd branch and Mr. Yang (our landlord) is illegal, so the village wants to take the property back and we are required to move out of place within ten days.
I told them that we understood their difficulties very much and were ready to support. So we are willing to move out of the property to protect villager’s interests. But I also raised three requests:
1. Please give us a written notice
2. Please cancel the contract between the village and Mr. Yang first, then we will talk with Mr. Yang on the cancellation of our contract.
3. Please choose a few representatives whom we can discuss with on the details of our move.
Their answers are:
1. No written notice will be given because they are illiterate and cannot write, and it is also unnecessary.
2. Regarding the contract signed between us and Mr. Yang, it is irrelevant to the villagers, all they need is to take back the property, so we should talk with Mr. Yang directly on this matter.
3. The 20 persons on present are representatives chosen from 600 villagers, and they all have the right to negotiate and make decision.
I then further requested that because China is now a law-governed country, we should do everything according to corresponding laws and contract, and we should trust that Chinese law will protect the interest of each citizen of China.
They replied, “You are highly educated and know law, we are just country men and not familiar with law. Our request is lawful. By the way, the contract signed between the community and Mr.Yang is illegal because it hadn’t got approval from us villagers”.
The representatives then asked me to make decision yesterday whether we are able to move within ten days, I then replied that it was not a simple decision I can make by myself, I need to talk with Mr. Yang first.
They then said that they could not afford to wait a few months or even years, they are afraid that we will sublease the property to a third party.
“We would not do that”, I said, “Moreover, the right of subleasing is not in us, but in Mr. Yang”. And I also told them that it would be too rush for us to move out within ten days.
They then said that if you people do not move, the villagers might come take your stuff and put them on the road, I said it is up to them how they treat us.
I also asked them that how we should move out? “ Just as how you move in”, they replied.
When talking about the compensation for the buildings and renovations of the property, they said that they only come to ask for taking back the property, we need to negotiate with Mr. Yang for compensation, and we can sue Mr. Yang whenever necessary.
I also asked them whether it were villagers who cut off our power and network cable, they denied.
So there was no deal yesterday, the village secretary said at last that we should understand the difficulties of those villagers, and leave the property as soon as possible. Otherwise, the villagers might come to our community every day and stay with us, which could be quite a hassle.
They expressed that they would come again today. Because one representative mentioned that if they come again, they might want to have meal in the community, I asked them whether they planned to eat with us today so that our kitchen people can organize it in advance, the secretary said that it was unnecessary.
All in all, the talk and behaviours of village representatives were very friendly and frank, and they came with an attitude of solving the issue, and I thank them very much for this.

Today I continued to negotiate with 19 village representatives. It was still a friendly meeting and no big arguments. Villagers just wanted to know one thing, when we are going to move, and they required that we move as soon as possible and are not willing to talk on other topics.
My attitude and requests were:
1. We will definitely move because we are not welcomed here, there is no point that we continue to stay. We had guests recently coming from England and Japan, other guests from Spain, Malaysia and Israel will come soon, I do not have enough time to negotiate on this over and over, I want this issue to be solved today.
2. Villagers just want to take back this land, however, many properties on the land belong to the Second Home, if Shaowan village also wants these properties, please give us a price, otherwise, we have to pull down the houses, and take all doors and windows away. They then said very friendly that they don’t want any of these properties and many villagers can voluntarily help with the job.
3. We will move soon, however, because the contract between the landlord and us is still valid, and villagers do not allow us to stay here, so please write us a notice with the signature and ID number of all representatives. And they did not agree it at all.
Then I proposed that because we could not locate the landlord, please help to notify him and ask him come to talk with us about the cancellation of the contract. They said that it was not their business, and they only wanted to know the time when we can move out.
Again I suggested them to go to the government or a court to verify the validity of the contract, if the court says this is an invalid contract, we will move immediately. They again said that it was impossible because the court is not a place giving justice.
The negotiation came to a dead end.
It was almost 6:00pm and those representatives were still waiting for our answer, and said if we did not give them an exact moving time, they would not leave.
At the same time, the deputy director of Public Security Bureau of Chuxiong City came and persuaded them to leave.
He also gave me a few reasonable suggestions after they left, and the negotiation will go on tomorrow.

We are Going to Lose the 3rd Branch and the Second Home is Facing a Calamity

Please no more take about laws, and also do not try to solve the issue through a lawyer, neither let the public media intervene, because these are useless.
No more hold help, and the 3rd branch will be disappearing very soon, then the 1st and 4th branch, we will have endless troubles if the Second Home does not disappear.
We can only count on the Greatest Creator and wish that he will help us.
It has been six months since power and network cables were cut, and nobody has come to solve the problem, so stop being naive.
Chanyuan values told us that we are the most humble and weak grasses in the world, and we cannot bear any attacks.
So do not argue, give up arguing and fighting.
If that is the arrangement of Tao, we have to comply.
From now on, please no more complain about government or other people, and do not accuse anybody or the village representatives. There is no single soul in the world is treated unjustly, and the reality is the projection of our consciousness. So please do not blame any government department, any villager or other person.
Nobody is wrong, if someone is wrong, it is me. All Chanyuan Celestials are good, and it is my fault, and I shall bear all responsibilities.
No matter how we think about the event, ensuring the stability and harmony of the society is more important, we need to sacrifice ourselves. Especially when this is the time for the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of CPC, we should not cause any group conflicts to protect our own interests, which is a quality of Buddha.
Sacrifice ourselves, and if anyone is willing, follow me and be a normad until our lives end.

The Result — We Lost, They Won:
Withdraw From Chuxiong and the 3rd Branch No Longer Exist

There is no result after two day’s negotiation, and there will be no progress if we continue negotiation by following the legal process.
So we are going to give up the negotiation, and all efforts we put into the 3rd branch is worth 8,000,000 RMB, and it is quite easy to compute and get this number. The barren land has become quite fertile after two years’ farming, which can be seen and proven from the corns and vegetables we grew.
We do not ask for 8,000,000 now, we ask for a compensation of 4,000,000. If you do not want to make compensation, we regard your behaviour as illegal occupying of personal property.
No matter what you will do, we are going to withdraw from today. Our road was dug; power and network cables were cut. On the one hand, you were negotiating with us; on the other hand, you pull our gate down. How violent this is!
We lose, and you win.
In future, even if you knee down and beg me to come to Chuxiong, I will not come. Gods, sages, and saints are going to disappear on the land of Chuxiong.
National Land Management Bureau, City Construction Bureau, Land Survey Team and Forest Security Bureau, please note that we will move soon, can you please also leave the place and give us some space so that we can withdraw smoothly under no distraction.
The Department of Civil Affairs and Family Planning Commission, you did interview with my brothers and sisters and made record, which is same as what you did last year. But you have made three mistakes:
1. You should not insult me, and said to my brothers and sisters, “Do you know that Xuefeng always go eating, drinking, gambling and whoring outside?” Luckily it is very obvious that I stay most of time in the community and almost do not eat and stay out these years, otherwise, I cannot clean myself.
2. You have used a lot of threatening languages.
3. Some of the questions you ask our members violate the privacy terms of the United Nations Human Rights Act and the Constitution of China.
Thanks for those police officers who came for maintaining the order here in these days. Although nothing extreme happened, I ask that you stay at the place until we safely move out.
We will try to withdraw from the 3rd branch within 15 days.

At last, we lost the battle and decided to move out from the 3rd branch in 15 days. I'm now living in the 4th branch of the Second Home, some sisters and brother who once lived in the 3rd branch will come to live with us together. The result makes me feel a little sad for I don't know why they want us to move out such quickly. My heart tells me that God arranges all and I need faith and peace in this very moment. Luckily, there're many angelic sisters and brothers staying with me, and giving me much love and courage to face all the difficulties and challenges in the future. It was God's love for me to find Lifechanyuan & the Second Home in Feb, 2011. So I will not leave our community until I die. No matter what will happen to other branches of our community, we will continue it and our goal until our lives end on Mother Earth.

The Subsequent Report of the Event of the 3rd Branch - 2

Today I continued to negotiate with 19 village representatives. It was still a friendly meeting and no big arguments. Villagers just wanted to know one thing, when we are going to move, and they required that we move as soon as possible and are not willing to talk on other topics.
My attitude and requests were:
1. We will definitely move because we are not welcomed here, there is no point that we continue to stay. We had guests recently coming from England and Japan, other guests from Spain, Malaysia and Israel will come soon, I do not have enough time to negotiate on this over and over, I want this issue to be solved today.
2. Villagers just want to take back this land, however, many properties on the land belong to the Second Home, if Shaowan village also wants these properties, please give us a price, otherwise, we have to pull down the houses, and take all doors and windows away. They then said very friendly that they don’t want any of these properties and many villagers can voluntarily help with the job.
3. We will move soon, however, because the contract between the landlord and us is still valid, and villagers do not allow us to stay here, so please write us a notice with the signature and ID number of all representatives. And they did not agree it at all.
Then I proposed that because we could not locate the landlord, please help to notify him and ask him come to talk with us about the cancellation of the contract. They said that it was not their business, and they only wanted to know the time when we can move out.
Again I suggested them to go to the government or a court to verify the validity of the contract, if the court says this is an invalid contract, we will move immediately. They again said that it was impossible because the court is not a place giving justice.
The negotiation came to a dead end.
It was almost 6:00pm and those representatives were still waiting for our answer, and said if we did not give them an exact moving time, they would not leave.
At the same time, the deputy director of Public Security Bureau of Chuxiong City came and persuaded them to leave.
He also gave me a few reasonable suggestions after they left, and the negotiation will go on tomorrow.

We are Going to Lose the 3rd Branch and the Second Home is Facing a Calamity

Please no more take about laws, and also do not try to solve the issue through a lawyer, neither let the public media intervene, because these are useless.
No more hold help, and the 3rd branch will be disappearing very soon, then the 1st and 4th branch, we will have endless troubles if the Second Home does not disappear.
We can only count on the Greatest Creator and wish that he will help us.
It has been six months since power and network cables were cut, and nobody has come to solve the problem, so stop being naive.
Chanyuan values told us that we are the most humble and weak grasses in the world, and we cannot bear any attacks.
So do not argue, give up arguing and fighting.
If that is the arrangement of Tao, we have to comply.
From now on, please no more complain about government or other people, and do not accuse anybody or the village representatives. There is no single soul in the world is treated unjustly, and the reality is the projection of our consciousness. So please do not blame any government department, any villager or other person.
Nobody is wrong, if someone is wrong, it is me. All Chanyuan Celestials are good, and it is my fault, and I shall bear all responsibilities.
No matter how we think about the event, ensuring the stability and harmony of the society is more important, we need to sacrifice ourselves. Especially when this is the time for the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of CPC, we should not cause any group conflicts to protect our own interests, which is a quality of Buddha.
Sacrifice ourselves, and if anyone is willing, follow me and be a normad until our lives end.

The Result — We Lost, They Won:
Withdraw From Chuxiong and the 3rd Branch No Longer Exist

There is no result after two day’s negotiation, and there will be no progress if we continue negotiation by following the legal process.
So we are going to give up the negotiation, and all efforts we put into the 3rd branch is worth 8,000,000 RMB, and it is quite easy to compute and get this number. The barren land has become quite fertile after two years’ farming, which can be seen and proven from the corns and vegetables we grew.
We do not ask for 8,000,000 now, we ask for a compensation of 4,000,000. If you do not want to make compensation, we regard your behaviour as illegal occupying of personal property.
No matter what you will do, we are going to withdraw from today. Our road was dug; power and network cables were cut. On the one hand, you were negotiating with us; on the other hand, you pull our gate down. How violent this is!
We lose, and you win.
In future, even if you knee down and beg me to come to Chuxiong, I will not come. Gods, sages, and saints are going to disappear on the land of Chuxiong.
National Land Management Bureau, City Construction Bureau, Land Survey Team and Forest Security Bureau, please note that we will move soon, can you please also leave the place and give us some space so that we can withdraw smoothly under no distraction.
The Department of Civil Affairs and Family Planning Commission, you did interview with my brothers and sisters and made record, which is same as what you did last year. But you have made three mistakes:
1. You should not insult me, and said to my brothers and sisters, “Do you know that Xuefeng always go eating, drinking, gambling and whoring outside?” Luckily it is very obvious that I stay most of time in the community and almost do not eat and stay out these years, otherwise, I cannot clean myself.
2. You have used a lot of threatening languages.
3. Some of the questions you ask our members violate the privacy terms of the United Nations Human Rights Act and the Constitution of China.
Thanks for those police officers who came for maintaining the order here in these days. Although nothing extreme happened, I ask that you stay at the place until we safely move out.
We will try to withdraw from the 3rd branch within 15 days.

At last, we lost the battle and decided to move out from the 3rd branch in 15 days. I'm now living in the 4th branch of the Second Home, some sisters and brother who once lived in the 3rd branch will come to live with us together. The result makes me feel a little sad for I don't know why they want us to move out such quickly. My heart tells me that God arranges all and I need faith and peace in this very moment. Luckily, there're many angelic sisters and brothers staying with me, and giving me much love and courage to face all the difficulties and challenges in the future. It was God's love for me to find Lifechanyuan & the Second Home in Feb, 2011. So I will not leave our community until I die. No matter what will happen to other branches of our community, we will continue it and our goal until our lives end on Mother Earth.
