I think the only sighting I have had in my entire life may actually have been one of these paper lanterns. Oh, well.:confused:

Just from my going over ufo sighting compilations on Yourtube, there does seem to be a non trivial level of coverage of sightings nationwide. But for a viewer looking at just one local station, this might not be evident. It would be nice to know the statistics on reporting. What got me started on my current round of interest in UFOs was a Mexican TV (Televisa) camera recording a year ago of a cigar shaped UFO zooming into the volcano Popocatepetl just south of Mexico City. So this is pretty main stream as it was both recorded by a Televisa video camera and also reported on Televisa news. The citizens of Mexico City were quite shaken up. In general, Mexico has been a lot more candid about the UFO phenomenon than the US. I imagine this is because they have not been "in bed with" our alien friends as the US has been for many years. :(

you find any sighting in the mainstream media you can bet it's been analysed carefully by those in charge and been deemed inconsequential. Still exciting though, remember a few years ago a mass sighting over New York? What ever was the verdict on that?
